I work in the hospitality industry and complaining about customers to other customers is a big no-no. The guy too proud to wear a name tag(Jerry) put our order together, sort of. My girlfriend and I saw him build the order together, and we noticed he didn't put all of the ingredients in our salad and bowl but were too afraid to say anything because we didn't want to be the subject of his didactic rant about previous customers earlier. Won't come back because it's difficult to find value in a salad with 3 ingredients for $15-$16 dollars apiece. Maybe find another industry to work in that doesn't involve people read more

I'm into it. First time in (they've only been open for four days at time of writimg). Had the peach and goat cheese salad off their seasonal menu, the blueberry basil fresca drink and a complimentary slice of bread, all on point and combined clocking in at under 600 calories. Was visiting Mountain View today with a friend and decided to give Sweetgreen a try. Our salads were delicious, however our customer service experience left a "bad taste" in our mouths. The gal who made my salad and rang me up didn't ask us if we wanted beverages or even a water cup, took my payment then walked away. My friend and I stood there bewildered and not sure if she was coming back. She did not. No thank you, enjoy, have a good day, nothing. Handed my credit card back to me and walked away. The miso bowl was very tasty. However, the wild rice was completely uncooked. It was very crunchy, which made it hard to enjoy the rest of the bowl. We got 2 miso bowls, and both had the same issue. read more

It's located where the Peet's code used to me off California Ave. Great value when it comes to getting a locally grown produce to create a delicious salad option for dinner ! Menu options seem pretty much based on your basic proteins, and power greens. Sweet potatoes, tofu, chicken, quinoa, wild rice, and nuts. Really like the sustainable bowls, and packages for Togo items! Definitely a great option when you want to eat locally and green :) read more

It's 2017, so if you aren't wearing $100 leggings and happily buying a $15 salad you're out of touch. Seriously, it's hilarious (and pleasantly surprising) to me that the health movement has expanded to the point of a chain salad shop. As I am both a celiac and an admitted salad enthusiast, the newest Sweetgreen on Castro Street had me hyped. It's down past main street, meaning you actually stand a chance of parking close if you come at night. Since I did, in fact, come at night (like a 9 to 5 laborer, not like a ninja) parking was plentiful and service was quick, since I was the only customer. I love love love the clearly marked allergen info and the calorie count. Sometimes ya gotta be calorie- conscious, and since I'm trapped in a waking nightmare of food intolerance I always gotta be gluten-conscious. FYI, though, make sure you state that you have a gluten allergy so they don't plop (delicious-looking) Acme bread on your bowl at the end and so they change their gloves. I got the Thai shrimp salad and it was divine, and massive. There was a great shrimp to miscellaneous-non-shrimp-topping ratio, making the $13 feel a lil better. The aesthetic in here makes you feel like a fitness icon while you munch away and there are some yum teas available to drink as well. I'll be back, to feel svelte and trendy and morally superior. My lunch experience at Sweetgreen was not good. Ordered the Curry Chickpea Bowl. It was ok, nothing spectacular. But the service was disappointing. The lady forgot to put chickpeas (yes, in a 'Chickpea' Bowl). When I pointed it out, there was not a word of apology, just a blank stare. She put the chickpeas and just pushed the bowl towards me. I frequent SG MV 1-2 times per week. Firstly, the salads are always delicious and fresh and I like I can customize it per my specific diet standards. The experience however can be improved. The line for lunch here can be horrendous. Starts around 12pm-130. And they never seem to have enough help, and the employees move super slow like they don't care the line is out the door. I often see people waiting for their order ahead too! I mean how does that even happen? They must not be properly staffed? Once last week the line was so long I decided to wait and just order on my app for order ahead. I ended up regretting that because they were 20 minutes late past the scheduled time. So if you're looking for a quick lunch I would look elsewhere in MV unless they get some more help soon. My experience at night was quite different, they still were understaffed but at least there were less customers coming in so it went faster. I hope they hire more help soon because I really do like the salads! read more

I love salads. I went to this place with great expectations but it was pretty disappointing. I frequent a lot of salad bars. Here the selection of vegetables was pretty awful. The person making the salad was extremely brusque. I had to keep asking him to add stuff and he looked very annoyed. My husband to ask him for substitutions three times. There was no bread. I was watching the process since the place was completely empty and yet he managed to completely rush me through the process. The salad itself was okay. I have had much better salads. I think I have had better salads at the Wholefoods salad bar (which I thought was somewhat overpriced). But this place is pretty overpriced. read more

2.5 stars - I love the idea of Sweetgreen and want to support this place but the main issues I'm seeing with it to date are: 1) *value* the meal bowls are too expensive for the amount and kind of food - specifically the meager amounts of protein relative to lettuce. A bed of greens is lovely and all but it doesn't have a lot of staying power - (and I don't want to pay $10 for the filler rice/quinoa either) - so they have to work on redistributing the food portions or bring down their price. Also, you get dinged on many of the 'premium' items (the yummy stuff) if you try to create your own bowl so watch for that because the $ rises quickly and the people behind the counter may or may not let you know before they ring it up at the cash 2) *quality* some of the food just doesn't taste good. Their falafels are some of the poorest I've had (dry and no discernable taste) and the shrimp smelled of ammonia (like bleach), one bite and I was done; couldn't eat it. On the yum side are many of the veggies and the warm portobello is not to be missed! 3) *value again!* be sure to ask for extra sauces/dressings - this is another area where they cheap out - the tiny pots are not nearly enough to cover a meal bowl. read more

I have made a negative review on here before but it was only based off of one bad experience and employees that no longer work there. Since then I have gotten the absolute best service. This place is ran by a great manager (always smiling) who cares about the customers. I come here sometimes 2X a week and never have any issues. They always give you extra sides of dressing for free. I have had a TERRIBLE experience with this place. This is why: Initially, I got attracted by the selection of healthy salads and went there quite a few times. However, almost every time the servers screwed up with ingredients' portion sizes that go in the salad, sometimes missing some key ingredients (e.g. blue cheese) altogether. I managed this minor inconvenience by keeping track of how my salad is prepared and telling the servers how to actually make it. Good thing they had the ingredients... But the worst thing was yet to happen. It was a regular weekday when I went to Sweetgreen to pick up my favorite salad. I made sure that the server didn't miss any ingredients and placed the correct amounts in the salad. I paid at the cashier and went out to enjoy the healthy meal. When I took the first bite, I felt something solid against my teeth. I thought it was just a random seed or something and continued chewing the salad. When I took the second bite, I heard a cracking sound in my month. I spat it out and realized that it was a part of my tooth. After careful investigation of what caused the incident, I realized that rice in the salad was EXTRA DRY. It was like something from informative self-help videos on FB that show you how to dry an iPhone after a spill of water in a bowl of rice. I was pissed! It's not nice to break a FRONT tooth due to low-quality ingredients during lunch at work. However, it's still not the worst part yet. I went downstairs to figure out if the management of the "restaurant" could help me solve the problem they've created for me... at least financially. The manager promised to report the incident to their insurance (if they have any) and that they will get in touch with me to pay any expenses I will carry in regards to fixing the tooth. I trusted him and went to the dentist. It cost me about $250 to fix it, less my personal time visiting the dentist. It was a couple of weeks since the incident has occurred and I still haven't heard from the insurance company. I went to Sweetgreen again to remind the "management" about the unresolved issue. The manager fed me with empty promises of sorting it out again and guess what happened? ... nothing! Almost a couple of moth after the incident, nobody took care of this problem. NOT COOL. To summarize, I am not going back to this place again. The reasons why: 1) Poor production line 2) Poor ingredients 3) Poor customer service Good luck to new visitors. I hope you don't break your teeth with the "healthy" meals from Sweetgreen! read more

I love the idea of this place I think they need more places to eat in the US that are similar. Too many shopping centers without healthy options. This shopping center has Trader Joe's, Açaí place, and sweet greens healthy options. To top it off Starbucks lol yes! So location is winning and food was really fresh. I like that u can pick your dressing amount light, medium, or heavy. The serving size are legit u leave full, but don't feel like your in a food coma. I got terrible food poisoning from the Rad Thai Salad. I think the shrimp was bad. Definitely won't be going back. Before the onset of the food poisoning, they were out of a ton of toppings and certain kinds of leafy greens, the line was long and service was slow. Such a bummer! I have been looking for a good salad place besides Pluto's for a long time now. Today was my first time trying sweet green, and I can honestly say it was such a good experience. I ordered the OMG Omega, and the dressing, steelhead, everything really was delicious! My friend also ordered the guacamole greens, and for someone that does not like vinaigrette she absolutely loved the dressing. The only thing about these salads is that it is quite pricey. You do get quite a big bowl; however, for its price I don't know if I would come as often as I wish. Don't get me wrong, I will most definitely come again, but just not as much as I would like to. read more

Upgraded my review! I decided to give this place another shot and I must say I've become a bit of an addict. Next time I visited I got the Harvest Bowl which is now my favorite, although I have also tried a few other bowls (with less calories) that were very good. I like that everything has the calorie content listed on the menu. It has helped that I've been on a health kick and I've finally found a place that has made me excited about eating salad! I've given 4 stars instead of 5 as it is a bit pricey for what it is and you can't use cash. I'm actually ok with that but the app/online payment was a bit fiddly to get set up and nearly put me off bothering. Now that it's set up it works great though. Previous review (3 stars): Just ok. This was my first time and I asked what was the most popular salad bowl. I ordered the cauliflower bowl based on the recommendation of the staff. I basically felt like I ate a giant bowl of underdressed leaves with very little of the other ingredients. Staff were friendly though and it was really clean.
