I'm such a fan of the sweetgreen offering and how flavorful and delicious their food is, especially considering how healthy it all is. I've gotten the Harvest Bowl Once and Curry Chickpea bowl twice now and it's all been delicious. For those who have never been, this place is like a Chipotle for salads. During my most recent visit, I decided to try their house drinks instead of my usual water. I poured some of their spiced cider and then tasted some of the lemon fresca and was a fan of neither, so I won't be getting drinks there again. Sticking to the delicious bowls. I do have to say though, for what you get, the price is a little on the high side, so I guess you're paying extra for the freshness and local produce. I wish there was a sweetgreen closer to the Milpitas area as this one is less than convenient for me to get to, but I still enjoy it nonetheless. read more

Sweetgreen is a decent salad restaurant. They take pride in the freshness of their veggies and fruits and have a window where you can watch them strip, wash, and prep ingredients. The venue is clean and tidy overall. Staff seemed kinda unsure of their own menu and weren't particularly good at answering questions regarding menu items; so it'd be nice for them to become a bit more familiar with their offerings so they can better help customers. For example, I asked how much burrata cost for a DIY salad since it wasn't on the paper taped to the window, and the girl just kept waving and saying I could add cheese at the end of the line. Not really answering my question :/ She also didn't know what many of the ingredients were either, so wasn't able to answer when I asked what X or Y ingredient in front of her was since I wasn't sure. Sweetgreen could do a bit better in training its employees. DIY Salad || $8.50 base + any premium item pricing Choose from a variety of salad greens, rice, or quinoa for your base, 4 toppings, and a dressing. You can also add premium items for additional fees. I decided to go with mixed greens + quinoa, rainbow beets (yum), sweet corn, cucumbers, apples, walnuts, and a lemon juice + olive oil drizzle. The shiitake mushroom mix (+$2) is pretty flavorful. The burrata (+$2.50) is bland and probably would taste better warmed up. The free bread is also on the oilier side. If you want a piece of two, you can ask for some right before you get salad dressings and pay. My bowl of salad ended up costing ~$14, which I think is pretty hefty for just a single bowl. It was tasty given that I got to choose ingredients I thought I'd enjoy, but not quite worth $14 imo. I'm not a fan of their take-out bowl design either. The concave up lids dip down into the bowl. As a result, the lid squishes down on your salad, making everything compressed and mushed up :( I personally would like room for my salad to breathe and not get all smashed up. The compressed lid decreases the amount of area the bowl has to even contain food. This just makes it look like they promote giving less food, which makes them look stingy -- which I don't think is the message they want to get across to customers. read more

Tasty salads with generally good service. I've ordered from this location a few times through the app. The first time I ordered, everything went pretty smoothly and I got my food on time as it was waiting for me on the pick-up shelf at the specified time. The next time I went, it was extremely busy inside with people placing orders as well as a hoard of people waiting for online orders. I'm not sure what happened that day, but it was just really disorganized and an employee had to come and ask me for the name on my order so that she could print out the order and have it made. I ended up waiting way past the time that I chose for pick up. Not only that, but when I did get my salad, one of them was completely wrong and I had been given a different salad than what I ordered, so I had to go back and wait to speak to someone and have it remade. No water, by fault of the manager. After ordering, I was given a cup to fill at their dispenser which wasn't working at all. When reported at the front the staff seemed ambivalent, which gave me the impression that this was not new information. I asked for a cup of tap water, which they said they couldn't provide per the Manager's policy. I ask, "why? There's a sink through that window right there where someone is rinsing vegetables, how is it undrinkable?" Response, "Manager says we can't give that water because we wash our hands in that sink", which does not make any sense. We had to leave to find another place just to get a drink of water. Manager, set your employees up for success and give them a real backup plan for when this happens. Give them leave to offer clean tap water or a bottle/pitcher, or you will likely continue to lose returning patronage. No employees lost their cool and were very professional in spite of the situation, but it could have been easily avoided. read more

The salads they have here are so good! All the ingredients are super fresh and there's a nice balance of greens to toppings. The salads are also pretty filling. Although it's a little pricey for a salad, it's worth the occasional splurge when you're trying to eat healthier. My favorite is definitely the harvest bowl. I love the mix of "hot" and cold ingredients. I've also tried their guacamole greens which is pretty solid as well. Their quarantine process is also pretty easy. I was able to place an order online and just walk in and pick it up with no contact. It had a weird smell to it and I took one bite, paused while my life flashed before my eyes, and then immediately spit it out. I've been skydiving and did not feel such a rush of impending doom. I most definitely prefer this SG location compared to their Sunnyvale one. For one, they do not share a parking lot with Trader Joes and Starbucks (The one in Sunnyvale can get a little hectic). And two, they are so quick with the service! This is in downtown Mtn View so it's mainly street parking near SG, but with quarantine, they've blocked down the main street and it's been pretty easy to find parking. SG doesn't take cash, only card. I would recommend ordering on their app ahead of time. Also if you use the app, you get a $9 reward with every $99 you spend (trust me that will rack up so quickly, i have been ordering nonstop since shelter in place has started, I've spent almost $400?! lol) They've extended their menu quite a bit over the last year... everything is pretty good! They'll have seasonal ingredients or seasonal salads/warm bowls, but you can pretty much remake them when you go the custom salad/bowl route. My favorite ingredients thus far have been the cauliflower rice, the PREMIUM hot roasted sweet potatoes (not the regular roasted sweet potatoes, there's a difference! i promise), the crispy rice, the spicy broccoli, and the curry cauliflower. This location is only accepting orders from the app only. That wouldn't necessarily be a problem, but the app won't take any orders with less than 30 minutes before closing time. They do not indicate this anywhere in the store. Only half my party was able to get food because of this hidden rule. Worker at the counter was incredibly rude and berated us for even asking if there was any way we could still submit an order. Would've been fine if they had told us even semi politely. While the policy is not the fault of the individual worker, it should have been handled better. EDIT: As I was waiting for my order, a Caucasian gentlemen came in and asked to order at the register as well. Despite the fact that he arrived 20 after my friend, and the policy the worker quoted to us previously, he let this person order at the register. When I confronted the employee about this, he asked if I also needed to order. I had informed him that he turned away my friend 20 minutes earlier, a woman of color, and the employee was unapologetic and took no responsibility for the clear, unequal treatment shown to my friend. This location has gotten on my nerves. First time I went they forgot an ingredient (one of my favorite toppings) in the salad I ordered. Second time I went they had a sign that said online orders and delivery only. So I attempted to order online and the website was terrible to use, it made me create an account and then said it was going to be 20 min before my salad was ready so I left. Third time I ordered online to be safe. I didn't want to get there and see that I couldn't order in person again. Salads were not ready by the time it said it would be. There's like 5 people working behind the counter and pick up bags have been coming out like 1 every 5 minutes. This is the second location I've gone to in the Bay Area. It's located right near the Cascal's on Castro. It was during our the peak of the lunch hour so the line was all the way along the full length of the restaurant. Good layout to make use of the flow of people. There were tables inside and patio tables outside as well, so plenty of seats. The weather was not too bad to sit outside, which we did. I decided to order the Harvest Bowl this time. What a hearty combination: kale, roasted sweet potatoes, almonds, apples, goat cheese, and chicken and wild rice. I went light on the balsamic dressing, which was a good thing. I am so bummed to give this place three stars... It has nothing to do with the food or the quality of the food... I actually enjoy ordering from here, at least once a month, because it is convenient to where I work. It is also a great option for team meetings, and appealing to all tastes. The three stars are for the app, and the pick up and delivery service. First of all, if you order for delivery, and you need to make any changes or contact the restaurant about the order, you cannot actually reach them. You call the number, and it directs you to an automated message, which tells you to text them. However, they don't actually respond. If they do, then they say that they can't actually help you. It is super frustrating! if you schedule pick up, the process is also very weird... For example, they have a counter and shelves for where all orders to be picked up our placed. Yesterday, I looked at the orders that were there, and mine was not there. I noticed two bags on the back counter behind the counter, and was wondering if maybe that was my my order. I could not get the attention of an employee to find out if that was my order. I ended up standing there for 10 to 15 minutes, waiting to grab the attention of an employee, to find out that yes, indeed, my order was already done and was on that back counter. I was impressed on my third visit to this Sweetgreen, and loved the Chicken Pesto Parm bowl. It was a large serving. The server asked several questions in order to make it to my liking. I am not a fan of salads. I tolerate them. They are what I eat when I had an exceptionally heavy ramen the night before and looking to offset that with a 'healthy' lunch. And even then, it just feels sad. It all changed when I had my first Sweet Greens. It was out of this world. I got the harvest bowl and swapped out the wild rice for quinoa and also got light pesto dressing. The way the ingredients combined was just magical. The shredded kale provided a fantastic base with perfect gaps for the quinoa to be tucked in. The goat cheese provided that rich texture and the apple bits added the much needed crunch. The almond and surprisingly, the chicken were more backstage actors than stars in this dish - subtle, yet crucial to the dish. And finally, the sweet potatoes, my favorite added another dimension to the dish with both their texture and their flavor. All in all, it just blew my mind. I think from now on, I pick sweet greens over a comparable, traditionally more delicious fast food meal, like a burrito or a grilled sandwich. I really like this place and can definitely say that I am a regular. I get a salad from sweet green 1x to 2x per week. It's my absolute favorite place to get a salad. Now I am not giving them 5 stars because they have messed up my order in the past and it isn't the cheapest place to get salad(and the portion is not large). However, I think their salad is very fresh, the ingredients are good and I am a huge fan of the dressings. My favorite is the lime cilantro dressing. Some times I love it, some times I don't. In full transparency, I've only physically eaten at this location twice however, I order Uber Eats from here about 3x per week. My issue is with the inconsistency with many different things. 9 times out of 10, I'll add salmon to my order. Lord, help me if the size of my $5 add on piece of salmon is only the size of a like a little cracker that day. Some times it's reasonable, other times it's actually insulting. i'd been to this franchise in downtown palo alto and enjoyed this cafe, so decided to check out the location in downtown mv when i wanted something fresh and healthy for dinner. concept is simple: either pick a pre-set salad (with pre-set ingredients) or make your own, and choose from a variety of fresh veggies, proteins, mix-ins and dressings. i chose to diy it since i like to pick and choose my own ingredients. for my first visit, i chose a blend of kale & arugula, with beets, carrots, onions, and artichoke hearts. i had to take advantage of the artichokes since it was october and they were in season! for my dressing, i chose the miso sesame ginger vinaigrette (on the side of course). they gave me a piece of bread (sourdough?) on the side to complement my salad. the salad was very fresh, tasty and delicious, and i felt full from all the wholesome ingredient packed with fiber. the staff behind the counter was friendly and courteous, and answered any and all questions i had re the ingredients and how the pricing worked. restrooms in the rear were clean and eco-friendly with hand dryers. the dining area had a clean and modern look, and they have free wifi, which made it easy for me to do work on my laptop and enjoy my salad. i'd love it if they opened a location a bit closer to me, maybe rwc? maybe san carlos? hint, hint.... read more

There's a lot of options to choose from, but I wish it clearly stated how many you are able to select before it starts charging you. Anyways, I chose my regular toppings and added avocado and hard-boiled eggs as the premium toppings (go ahead and splurge!!). For dressings, I chose the miso vinaigrette and double croutons. After you place your order, you select a time to pick it up - definitely try online ordering if you hate lines! When I got there, the store was pretty packed, so thank god that I ordered online! However, when I got back to my office, I noticed they left off my croutons from my order, which left me a bit peeved. But whatever, it's one mistake and otherwise, the salad was really good! It was fresh and very flavorful (especially the dressing), and this probably has to be the first salad that has made me actually full! Sometimes there's a line, other times you can walk right in and order right then and there. If you are in a hurry, preorder online and just pick up self serve style. However, in my experience and it's my personal preference, I'd rather wait and have someone toss up my salad when I order it in person. When you preorder, you'll have to toss your salad and it's never the same as when it's tossed in a bigger bowl then served in the bowl for eating in or even to go. I have been getting the guacamole greens bowl (add quinoa to this) and I can't get enough of it. I like that you could order off their menu, there are warm bowls to choose from as well, and a seasonal menu. When I first came to Mountain View for work, sweetgreen was a foreign and crazy thing to me. Everyone talked about it in hushed whispers (...why, I still don't understand). But I was fascinated by these big, brown (not the content, the container), bowls of salad. Everyone wanted to get on the list to get daily sg. I left that place to go to another office near by. And I was introduced to the magic that is sweetgreen. We got on the list to be an outpost for sg and had delicious salads delivered every Thursday. Even if it wasn't Thursday, I'd head out with my coworkers to get a salad. It felt like a healthy decision and the walk was a welcome break from the usual hubbub. Now that we're WFH, I get sg less and I'm pretty bummed by it. I'm also outside of their delivery areas so I have to drive into Mountain View to get my fix. My favorites are the kale caesar or the buffalo chicken salads or even the fish taco salad. You really can't go wrong and you can go ahead and add and remove items to achieve salad nirvana. I appreciate sg's drive to continue to deliver healthy foods with their warm plates and different sides. I haven't tried them yet, mostly because I came here to get salad-ed UP. The downside here is that I'm outside of the delivery order so it isn't exactly convenient for me to get sg. It is also a little pricey (usually around $12 to $16 a salad if you're getting premium ingredients). But when you're looking to make an easy healthy decision, this is the place to roll to. read more

This place is a huge disappointment. My mom and I came in around 2:30 on a Sunday. Several people were working and saw us waiting in line and didn't offer to help us - I had to actually ask someone if we could please order and she acted extremely irritated about it. She asked another disgruntled worker to do it, who begrudgingly complied - we were only ordering kale Caesar salads, which is one of their most simple salads, and she acted like we'd asked her to climb Mt. Everest with a broken leg or something. The Parmesan crisps were stale, the lime wedge was completely dry, she only filled the dressing cup halfway so there wasn't nearly enough to cover the salad and we had to ASK for the dang bread that was included in the (over)price! This was the best salad I've had in my 21 years on this earth. Since I'm not a huge salad eater however, I'm not sure how reliable my opinion is. I ordered the Fish Taco Bowl and was incredibly impressed. Every single ingredient was super fresh. No wilted arugula leaves nor cilantro leaves. The fish they used was seasoned well and not super fishy. I also appreciated that you can see the kitchen and the prep area as you order. There's something extremely comforting in seeing how your food is handled. This place loses a star for the high cost and lack of staff. $13 ish dollars is a bit high for this college student.
