Nicole made a miracle happen (ergo saving my life). Being a procrastinator and waffling on options, I was up against a last minute panic to get a cool cake made for a special 5 year old. It was a superhero theme and Pinterest was making me crazy with all of the wild ideas for fancy cakes that in most cases takes months in advance to reserve, plan and execute. On that Tuesday, I called Nicole and told her embarrassingly that I needed a cake for Saturday. I'm the world's worst cake client! I knew this. Anyway, I told her what I needed, she gave me the basic info I was looking for and said she could make it happen. A day passed and I hadn't confirmed with her, so she called me back and asked what the deal was. Because she did that I picked back up with her and said let's do this - she was the ONLY person on earth willing to work with my last minute request and I'm glad she was the one. She is: THOUGHTFUL: she spent an exorbitant amount of time on the phone with me that day, researching online, presenting several different options for what I needed, making calls to her other vendors on cake toppers and edible images to land on a price and design I was comfortable with in the short time I requested. PERSONABLE: I really felt like an important client to her based on the time and patience she had with me. She came up with really great ideas and made some suggestions on how to incorporate some action figures onto the cake with airbrushed buttercream (vs. fondant to make it cheaper), and some fondant components that were very cost-effective to add to the flair. REASONABLE: As mentioned prior, she made several modifications to lower the cost without compromising the final look. FLEXIBLE: I actually ran like a madwoman to her home bakery at about 9:30 - 10:00 p.m. with the toppers that I picked up and she was up baking as friendly as could be dealing with my chaos. She invoiced me by paypal making it unbelievably easy to pay by my mobile phone while I was in toys'r'us buying the toppers. Lol.
