Besides seeing Kevin Bacon here a bit ago during the lunch rush (big fan) I ordered a chicken bacon club type of sandwich and salad. I loved the sandwhich and the salad was really super fresh. We all loved our food. I can't wait to go again and try more stuff. I love the inside too, it's comfy and open- clean... not dingy and gross. The ONLY issue I have is I wish it was actually a waitor/server type of seating. You have to order at the front counter and sometimes there is a huge line, which distracts from talking and having fun with those who you came with. read more

Let me start by saying I like this Cafe, it's very cute and the staff seemed to be very friendly. The reason for 3 stars is: I ordered the Truffle'd Chicken and the Truffle Potatoes and while both these items were very tasty I could not taste the Truffle at all! Not sure if I caught them on a bad day or what but if you have an item on your menu that has Truffle in the title you better be able to taste it! We have been driving by so many times, and decided to give it a try for Saturday morning breakfast. We sat outside at the community table which was ok. We ordered the eggs Benedict. Eggs were over cooked to start with then they cooked arugula I believe and hide it in-between the eggs and meat. It was like trying to chew through leather straps. It was tough bitter greens that we both had to remove to eat the rest. Flavor well there wasn't any. No seasoning at all. Lattes were fine but not up the Republic of pie quality at all. I have been here once before, its pretty cozy place for a quick bite to eat. I enjoy their breakfast burrito quite a bit, although its not amazing it ive very fresh and you can taste the quality in every bite. The coffee is fairly good and there typically is a very little wait. I enjoy the different selections of sugary snacks as well, it can be a little on the pricy side, but no more than the surrounding breakfast places and you also get what you pay for. read more

Read on yelp that they had really good mac n cheese... but guess it's a seasonal thing? I went in and tried to order it but they said they only offered food that was on the menu. Very pleasant place to sit down and eat that great food which is offered at great prices. I had the Roasted Seasonal Vegetables w/Goat Cheese and Pulled Herbs. Awesome. I have been here twice now, once on a Wednesday evening, and once on a Friday lunch. I would suggest coming in before the lunch crowd or after, as the cafe is very very small, and seating is extremely limited. There is a lot of staff, but I think still new, as they are not as efficient as they could be. Sometimes they seem frantic/chaotic. I have no complaints about the food. It was delicious as everyone else has posted. You are in for a treat. The charcuterie plate is fabulous. 3 cheeses, choice of meat, and a fig jam that is to die for. (Although I had asked for no goat cheese, and still got it - blech) The chicken champagne salad is light and crisp but full of flavor. I echo the same sentiment about the short rib roll. It is very tender and extremely flavorful. The red velvet cookie sandwich was to die for. My biggest complaint was getting a $3.75 gratuity charge. I didn't notice it until I was leaving, but I couldn't believe that was added on my receipt. Beware of misc charges as it all adds up! Overall, I would recommend SweetSalt. A-! read more

If I had to give a drawback it would be that it is becoming so popular and gets crowded, so a table isn't guaranteed at lunch time. There are a few tables on the sidewalk as well. Parking is limited to the street and a few places in back, but this is near residential streets where parking may be found if you don't mind walking. VERY friendly owner and staff. LUNCH: These sandwiches are excellent! The hardest part is choosing one, because they are all so good. The lavender duck and the po'boy are among my favorites if I had to pick. The soups are also really good. So are the sweets and coffee! Very pleasant atmosphere, with lots of natural light during the day. I love this place. One of the BEST lunch spots in this area, by far. If you can, go before or after the lunch rush. They do a great job of keeping up with the crowds if you need to go at that time, but if you come by after 2 or so, it's more relaxed. DINNER: Lunch menu is now available for dinner, which is great. But I think they could expand on it during the dinner hours, more hot options and more dinner-y sides. I don't know. The first incarnation of the dinner menu seemed too much of a departure from the core menu. Now it's just the exact same as the (great) lunch menu, but nothing different. Something in the middle might be just right. It's all three bears! I hope they get inspired, and do something great for dinner that still feels like Sweetsalt. Fingers crossed. read more
