Because the cost was likely to be high, I emailed Daniel to ask for the range of the cost. He then offered to come to my house to give me a free estimate. If you have ever called any electricians, you should know most electricians bill based on trip charge (basic fee) plus labor time and material. Even they do nothing, they still charge for just showing up at the door. I was very happy that Daniel was willing to come out to give me a free estimate. This just makes him distinguishable from other electricians. He gave me a very detailed estimate. The price was reasonable, so I accepted it. Later I told him that I might need to replace an indoor outlet as it's loose. He offered to do it for free! What a wonderful customer service! Moses was the one who actually showed up to do the work. He's very polite and friendly. He explained to me his work. He was very patient with me when I didn't understand his explanation. He was great to work with. He also cleaned up after his work. His work showed a very good quality. I would highly recommend Strands Electric. Of course, whenever I need someone to do some electrical work, I will call Strands Electric.

Better Air NW's proposal was not only the least expensive by a fair margin, but also offered the highest quality machines and best warranties. Normally, I'd be pretty skeptical at that combination, but all of the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me to accept their offer. A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. Despite some unexpected challenges in the home's design to figure out and overcome, they charged exactly their estimate; there were none of the kind of headaches or scams that one often expects dealing with contractors. All in all, great experience, these folks deserve their lofty reputation.

Better Air NW was the only one who didn't give us pricing or a plan and the only one we had a negative experience with. During our in-person consultation, Jered focused on our HOA almost the entire time. Our HOA does have requirements in this area that we don't think are enforceable anymore, and in any case, that's our issue to sort out once a proposal is in place. We reassured Jered we would handle the HOA ourselves and wanted him to treat it like any other job: propose whatever setup his experience would call for and walk us through a plan and pricing. He kept coming back to the HOA anyway, and we struggled to get him to focus on the plan instead. He even told us one of the rooms was "impossible," and when we asked why, the answer was the HOA. It really felt like we were grasping at straws here. By the end of the consultation, our time had been wasted and we still didn't have any pricing or a plan. Later, he texted us that they couldn't do the job, without giving a reason. Since we never got one, we were left to guess: to us, the constant focus on the HOA came across as an easy way to pass on a job they didn't want to take on. No other contractor had trouble coming up with a proposal and pricing. Either way, our suggestion to Better Air NW is to be upfront.

Having had such a great experience with Salvador and crew on our shed and outbuilding re-roofing project, I called them out to fix the chimney flashing work that the other roofer performed. Wesley (who, if I remember correctly, was the foreman on our outbuilding job) came out about a week after I reached out to properly fix the other company's mistake. After seeing the pictures, I am confident we have the right repair up there. Pricing, as usual, was very reasonable and a good value. And, as a side note - the work they did on the outbuildings has held up for three seasons very well. We had a bit of a tricky situation with the larger outbuilding, which required some clever engineering on their part to get water to drain off a gently sloped porch roof. The custom metal work they did for the gutters has worked very well to get water where it needs to go. They are "our" roofers going forward and assuming they are around whenever we need to re-roof or get a repair (which, hopefully... is a long way's off) - they will be my first contact.

The trailer manufacturer thought I'd probably have to cut the whole lock panel out of the door with a torch! I spoke to Scott at Lock N Roll by phone and sent pictures, and he felt he could at least pick it open. He said he'd charge $75 if he could get it open, and no charge if he could not. Keep in mind, I am at the very far edge of his service area, so a gas fee or service call would have been entirely reasonable. Scott came out exactly on time the very next morning and not only picked the lock open, but then managed to find a key that worked for both locks!! Scott still only charged me $75 when he'd just increased the resale value of my trailer by several hundreds of dollars. Scott was fantastic to deal with as I juggled various companies to help me out. I cannot recommend any business more highly than Lock N Roll. I am still dancing around my horse trailer and Scott left over an hour ago...

I recently purchased a home and the old wiring running to the tv mount area needed to be upgraded to HDMI. The catch was that the house didn't have any ducting; instead the wiring was ran inside the wall with c-clips making it virtually impossible to get the new cables ran without opening up the wall. I contacted a few electricians who were eager to do the job but insisted they had to cut the wall open (despite the fact that the only provision I had was NOT to cut the wall open during the work). It was then that Jeremy at Switch Electric gave me a proposal that didn't require cutting of the wall. I scheduled the service and Jeremy and his associate (Aaron?) showed up not just on time but about 5 mintues early to the appointment (score!). They came prepared and ready go to. They were able to get in to the crawl space and run the new HDMI wires up through the wall, behind the fireplace, and to the tv mount above the fireplace. Then, they installed the tv mount and hung the tv on the wall. Total time, about 2-3 hours and total cost well under $500. They cleaned up after themselves and left no mess. The work was very well done and the tv and mount is very secure and, most importantly, NO HOLES IN MY WALL! I'm so happy with the work I already got an estimate for additional service in my bathroom. UPDATE - 03/30/2025 As is evident from previous posts, I have been a Switch client for several years. During that time the business has grown and matured but the "Tyler Keezer Ethic" has not faltered. Switch is dedicated to values that I don't find much anymore: - Honesty and integrity, - Forthright transparency, - Top level competency, - Confident professionalism, - Respect and friendliness. When a Switch technician is on your property or in your house working a problem they all but disappear. They are quiet, efficient, and thoughtful. When they leave you will know exactly what was done and there is nothing to tidy up. Cortney Manimtim is a perfect example of all of the above. She just completed the yearly maintenance on our generator. She texted and asked if she could arrive a bit earlier than scheduled. She greeted me with a smile and we chatted briefly about our landscape. Then it was all efficiency. Her tools and materials were packed in a single tote--quick and easy to unload. She knew where to go and what to do. Thirty minutes later she gave me a report, loaded her tote, and was back on the road. That afternoon I received an itemization of work done and the invoice. Switch has a very well-designed web presence so paying the bill took 30 seconds. It doesn't get any easier than that. Phenomenal work and professional services across the board by everyone involved. Just had the electrical inspector by today to sign off on the permit and even he was extremely happy about the work Switch had done. Jeremy was a superior technician with an eye for detail, personable nature and a meticulous skill set that made me extremely comfortable about the scope and quality of work he performed. Ashely in the front office took four or five calls from me throughout the process and she was polite, professional and extremely helpful. Tyler, also in the front office I imagine, managed all my electronic correspondence professionally, promptly and answered every question thoroughly. In the strange world of contractors that don't call back, drop off the face of the earth, or treat the customer as someone who is bothering them Switch is the complete opposite and a breath of fresh air. Switch just wrapped up one of our NE Seattle jobs and replaced some snakeskin wiring, as well as helping to replace the entire power service and panel for the house. Joseph walked our clients through the whole scope of work, even going as far as to break down wireless network coverage, router access and strength, custom outdoor heating and lighting solutions, creative outlet placement for their deck, and so much more. Throughout the project, the homeowners decided to add a few items, and Joseph tracked the changes wonderfully, always making the client aware of the impact to their budget and schedule upfront, and keeping them apprised of their final cost as it shifted. I worked with Alex and his team from Switch and they did a fantastic job with our home rewire. I'd recently purchased an older 2100 sqft home with extensive knob and tube plus some questionable DIY electrical work beyond that. Removal of this wiring was a process my wife and I were dreading, and we feared our house would be almost unlivable for months considering the number of walls the K&T was behind. But every picture I showed my friends of our home during the process had them respond with "hey, that's better than expected", and as I sit here writing this review, I'm inclined to agree. For the number of wires removed/redone and for the damage to walls to be "not that bad" is a testament to the exceptional care they took for this job. Additionally, they were timely, organized, and came up with innovative solutions to a number of issues encountered on the job. I ended up also installing roughly 20 cat6 runs and two subpanels in addition to the removal of the K&T, and overall I'm quite pleased with the all of the work done. Highly recommended. read more

I highly recommend Switch Electric Home Energy for generator repairs and service. It was an outstanding experience! I had several deep-seated issues with my generator (Generac QuietSource 36kw), which rendered it unusable. While other Generac dealers in the area had a long waiting list, although two months away, Switch Electric was able to book a specific appointment date for me and adhere to that timeline. The front-desk person was knowledgeable, polite, and trustworthy. My expectations were exceeded when I received email and txt reminders about my upcoming appointment a day prior. It was especially prudent given the fact that a significant amount of time has passed since scheduling. The technician Aaron was highly experienced and knowledgeable in his craft. Not only did he resolve the issue specific to the generator itself, but he also performed electrical repairs on the transfer switch. He knowledgeably answered all my subsequent questions. Everything was super smooth. The panel was larger and I feared they would have to cut more out of the wall to get it to fit, but they managed to get it in with only extending downward a bit. 2 guys got everything done in 3.5 hours. When they got to the stage of identifying circuits, it went amazingly quick and we have a much better idea now on what is tied together. We only had one other quote and it was 30% higher. it was a different brand panel, however I couldn't get any questions answered on what might be better about the brand the other guy quoted. Switch also quoted us a generator install that was almost half what the other company quoted. In the end, we purchased a generator online when it was on sale (with no tax), placed it ourselves, are having a HVAC guy already coming for AC install do the gas line and then will have Switch do the wiring. We'll save a little bit that way, but after all is said and done probably not that much as their quote was very competitive =) read more

I have used Switch Electric 3 times in the past for outdoor lighting and electrical needs, and have always found their servicemen to be on time, polite and professional. I recently re-did the yard. When I discovered that years ago my landscaper had installed indoor rather than outdoor low-voltage wiring, I called Switch. Tyler arrived on time to examine the situation, quickly came up with a plan, and his front office got me scheduled. I needed a couple circuits added/upgraded & dimmer switches replaced for LED-friendly. I explained to Joe what I thought was needed. He explained some different options which would give me more protection and cost a lot less money. The bid was the middle-bid; one MUCH higher & the other didn't leave me feeling completely confident. Dimmers: One of the lights has 3 switches. For that light he suggested a switch (Lutron Caseta) which had 1 main & to remote switches (that look like normal switches). He then showed me how you can buy an add-on WiFi bridge for $100 and control the lights from your phone. I bought the add-on and told him to replace all of the light switches with that type (for 1-switch lights they're about twice the cost, but the same cost as it would be for 2-3 switches.) They came on time, finished quickly and were very professional. read more

We had a problem with outdoor lighting that was originally installed 30+ years ago. We have used Switch for several projects previously (extensive remodeling and installation and maintenance of a auxiliary generator). We have been so pleased with Switch performance that we didn't hesitate to contract them for our outdoor lighting problem. The Switch estimator visited and carefully inspected all four stations of outdoor lighting. He listened as we described what changes we wanted. He outlined several different courses of action. We chose one. The next day we got the specifications and cost, and we have the "go ahead". The installation team arrived several weeks later and installed the new lighting fixtures with little, if any, visible signiture of the new wiring that was required. I've been impressed with this company since their initial response from my inquiry for a quote. My project was the wiring and installation of four ceiling fans in my Lake Stevens condo. I had previously contacted three other electrician businesses for the same project, but apparently they didn't want my business. First of all Switch has a live receptionist/phone contact person that takes info, creates schedules, and the like. The entire process was very professional and encompassed the very best in customer service you could imagine. From the absolute reasonable quote done by Tyler, to the actual work performed by Aaron and Johann, everything was completed to my utmost satisfaction! There are a lot of electricians in the area but you'd be hard-pressed to find any better than those at Switch Electric. The quality in their workmanship is top-notch and their commitment to their customers is nonpareil. Joseph Schlegel came to my house to fix a few small things but he treated my job as if it were his highest priority and he treated me as if I were his most valued customer. I won't even think of using another electrical company because Switch earned my loyalty through Joseph Schlegel. If you're still looking for an electrician, do yourself a favour and call Switch Electric. There may be other companies out there that will offer a lower price, but I guarantee you that they can't offer a higher commitment to service and to their customers because Switch is simply the best. read more

We bought our house recently and got little knowledge on the generator from the previous owner. Aaron arrived on time and started working in a very organized way. With power outages increasing, I was tired of throwing out frozen food that went bad. We have used Switch Electric to install a huge light fixture and they were professional, friendly and fair priced. I made an appointment. They showed up, listened to what I wanted, gave me an estimate a few days later. They brought the natural gas generator and installed it, fixed the wiring in the kitchen as everything was on one circuit (lights, plugins and microwave). How it passed inspection, I will never know. They added the power to the hot tub (during the last windstorm) great guys! Price is fair, work was great and I didn't have to get the permit, they did it. We will use Switch Electric for our electrical needs. read more

We used Switch Electric for the installation of a Standby Natural Gas Generator and would highly recommend the company. Tyler and his staff were very responsive to all the questions from pricing, scheduling and installation process. Bryan and his crew were on time and explained when the gas or electricity would be off and tried to accommodate "working at home" as much as possible. Tyler made an extra effort to acquire the equipment necessary for our home even when Generac was behind on production and delivery. I will use Switch Electric again. Switch Electric installed a generator for us yesterday and things could not have gone more smoothly. It was a fairly complicated installation, but Seth and his team handled everything in stride, including the borderline weather. They made sure that we were on board with all aspects of the project, including placement of the power and gas lines, as well as the generator itself, before moving forward. By mid afternoon the project was complete. Everything looks great, and they made sure all of our questions were answered before leaving. I recently had Switch Electric perform a main service panel upgrade, including installation of an interlock kit for use with a portable generator. This work involved three visits, with the final visit to commission and test my new generator and its hookup to the electrical panel. Overall I am very satisfied with the work performed. The three technicians, Stonney, Cody, and Morgan were prompt, knowledgeable, and thorough. I really appreciated the time Morgan spent with walking me through the startup and then shutdown procedures for hooking up and using the generator.
