Getting pedis here is one of my favorite things to do with my mom. They also recently remodeled so there is a big improvement on the chairs and equipment they used. I've always left really satisfied when Sylvia (the owner), Donna, and the cute elderly lady with short hair (she has a really Asian name I can't catch) does my nails. I like it a lot because it's clean and there are no strings attached. They don't bother trying to sell you with other services. They listen and will take the time to redo or readjust anything that you want. It's not super fancy place that pampers and serves you cucumber water but for the price and service you get, I'm sold. read more

Oh My Gosh! I have been to Sylvia's Nails several times for pedicures - WONDERFUL! Went there this weekend for a full set of nails. I asked for rounded tips three times and she still didn't get it right. I even pointed to the picture she had up. She was so hard to understand. Had 2 different people working on my nails. One put on the tips then "shaped" and "sealed" them. The other put on the fiberglass. I asked for them to be shorter, still too long. NOW - they are lifting. I have never had my nails lift this fast. Two freaking days later and they are lifting. I am afraid to go back and have them fix them because I am sure it will be another disaster. But Customer Service is key for me and I believe they need to fix them, for free! Would never recommend them for nails, only pedicures! read more

AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! I came in on a Friday morning, need to get my polish off and wanted to get some gel nails done this time. This was my first visit, but I will never return back. They gave me attitude about what I wanted, I asked to get a set of gel nails and they agreed. Then, she said no she didn't want to do it. Manicure, Manicure! she yelled. Wow, I was shocked. So, she gave me a manicure and put a gel coating top. Ten minutes later the nail polish started cracking underneath the gel coat top. They didn't want to fix it or anything. One word of advice, AVOID! read more

Eh, went in for a pedicure. Two options. Regular and spa. The difference? One is done in an old plastic tub at the regular station. The other you get to sit in a massage pedicure chair. I got the "spa" wasn't given an option, not that I would have chosen the other! Onto the pedicure. It was rushed, no attention to detail, just automatic, quick procedures. Massage was very mediocre and that's why I get pedicures, for the massage! She literally took like maybe 1 min each leg/foot. Onto paint. No base coat, one coat of Polish and a quick top coat. Polish on my skin. Really dissapointed. I won't be back. read more

I came here as a last-minute emergency to get my nails done for a wedding rehearsal. At first, I was skeptical because most of the workers were on the older side and didn't speak fluent English (I had very specific requests on how my nails should be done). But within twenty minutes, all my fears were alleviated. The ladies were very kind in making sure I was comfortable. They were also conscious of my time and tagged team my hands and toes so I could get in/out. Super appreciated. II have been back about 4-5 times and found their service to be equally great. Just one word of caution: They do not accept debit/credit so make sure you have cash on handy!!! Personally, I like to get my nails done by Sylvia or Donna because they are more sociable than the others and seem to have been in the business longer. read more

Wish I had gone to the place I originally wanted to go to.... I let my husband pushed me toward this place because it's soooo close by....Now my nails are crooked, thickly-filled acrylic, and look fat! I originally asked for the owner but she said she's too busy and told me the other lady that is available has 15 years experience.... Really? While I kept reminding her I want u-shaped tips and ended up with flat and crooked tips? She was nice except for my nails. I really wanted to like them because I live close by and after 10 hrs at the office I really don't want to drive across town but I guess the search for someone who can do my nails right continues. read more

The BEST pedicure EVER!!! I am 77 yrs old and I have never had a pedicure as good as Howard gives ! I live in S. CA and every time I come to Sacramento, I make an appointment with Howard. Today I went to this place for the first time and the service was excellent. I wanted a manicure with no lacquer, just buffed shiny. The lady "with a lazy eye" as one reviewer described her -- by the way, her name is Xuan pronounced "sun" -- did an excellent job. My nails were beautiful after she worked on them. This place was completely empty when I went there around noon on a Friday. I was the only customer in there so I knew there wouldn't be a rush to get my pedicure over with. The beginning of the pedicure started out a little slow, it was an older lady compared to the other nail-doers there and I thought to myself, "Gosh this is going to take forever." And it did, but in a good way. She was SO meticulous and thorough on every part of my nail care, which is much appreciated. She was friendly but quiet so I got my studying done while I was there. A couple things--the massage portion was a little neglected when I compare it to how long she scrubbed and trimmed and filed for...I felt like she sort of did my left leg fairly quickly and then spent a little more time on my right. Massage equally! Don't discriminate! Also, Cash ONLY which is always a downside for me. Its just really inconvenient since I never carry cash on me and sort of embarrassing when I'm like, wheres an ATM? So I walked over to Savemart and grabbed a Diet Coke and some cash back. 22 dollars for a pedicure, not bad but not the best price. Nothing special about it and nothing special about the salon. Overall, I'd go back here but I am still hunting for a better deal. read more

I honestly wish I could give a lower score. I get my nails done very frequently, and this was my friends and my first time here. I told my lady I had a wedding and needed them looking as nice as possible. They started doing our nails, and it felt very rushed. Before my nails were finished, I asked her to make them thinner because they were far too thick. She told me no and that they would crack if I went thinner. The shape was terrible and all of my nails were crooked. I got jewels on two of my fingers and those were also crooked. The next day, I washed my hands and two of the jewels fell off and then my nails started lifting. We went back that afternoon to get them fixed, and once again it felt rushed. She started to file my nails and told me that I should've told her they were too thick when I first got them done. At that point we made the decision that we weren't going to be returning to this salon. They were both fairly rude to us and didn't seem to care too much about their work. Two of my nails have fallen off and I've had them less than a week. I would recommend finding another place if you want your nails looking decent. read more

Today I went in for a pedicure and a manicure. My experience was pretty good. Not too bad. The place is pretty small, they have 3 pedicure chairs and like 6 manicure tables. I did see people getting pedicures in regular chairs even when there were massage chairs open, so I think you can choose where you sit. The people in there were really nice, they actually made conversation with me and I felt comfortable. They massage your feet and legs for a long time as well as your hands and arms if you get a manicure. They do not accept card so I had to walk across the parking lot to Chase to get some cash. My pedicure looks good to me but my manicure not so much. Honestly, I had a good experience but I will probably spend a little bit more and go somewhere else. read more

Got pretty much what I expected from a $20 gel manicure. Wasn't perfect but definitely got the job done. I just wish they would have let me know they don't accept credit cards before they did my nails. My friend and I had to switch off sitting in the salon so that we could get cash to pay for our manicures. In the end, I would probably go back just for the cheap factor but would definitely come prepared next time. And would advise them to put up a sign. read more
