Coming back from a NH day trip, my wife and 18 month old son were hungry and swung into Salem looking for a quick dinner. I remembered I went to T Bones many years ago and since it was still in business, I took that as a positive sign, so we stopped in. We had about a 20 minute wait to get seated but our waitress came by immediately for our drink order. The 22 ounce draft hit the spot but it was downhill from there. We settled on an appetizer and we both ordered the seafood casserole and clam chowder. We were all very hungry and needed something to munch on. We kept repeatedly asking for bread but our waitress said it wasn't ready and seemed to get pissed that we kept asking and never offered any type of alternative. After sitting there for 20 minutes, we finally had food delivered to our table. The bread was good as was the bacon wrapped scallops however, the clam chowder was more like a clam paste. It took another 15 minutes before our entrees were delivered and by this time, our son was getting antsy. The seafood was fresh but the casserole was very bland and was more butter soaked bread crumbs than anything. Since the wait for our food was so long, we now had to both take turns holding our son, who had already eaten and now was ready to go. We inhaled the food and asked for the check. Even this process took longer than it should and seemed to confuse our waitress. I also then realized we both never received our salads with dinner. When I pointed this out, the waitress did not seem to care and didn't offer anything to rectify this. She also seemed irritated that our son dropped few of his animal crackers on the floor. There were other children near our table who made an equal amount of mess so it wasn't like we were the only parents in this place. We definitely will not be going back to this place because drive through would have been a better alternative. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Salem. I've gone countless times and can't remember a single bad meal. My favorite was a special they had which was bison ribs with some kind of maple bbq glaze, though I wouldn't expect them to offer that very often. All the other dinners I've had (usually steak or chicken) have been delicious. Even their bread and potato chips are great. For lunch, you can't go wrong with the CBC (chicken, bacon and cheese). I've never had a problem with the waitstaff or the time it took to bring out the food. read more

The food was good & service was outstanding! We were in and out in under 20 minutes. I had the tomato & Gouda grilled cheese with homemade chips, i'd give it a 3 star over all, not bad. Shawn had the BLTC which was very good, I had to steal some of his, 4 stars. The bread and butter is good to, although it does taste a bit pretzel like. Not much on the broc. cheese soup. Should have got the french onion I bet. Seriously, I can't say enough about how speedy the service was and the food and drinks came out so fast. I wasn't much on the org. margarita, but the fairy drink was very tasty. I don't think we will be in this area ever again, as we plan to actually stay in boston upon our next visit (or move!) but if we ever do come here again T-Bones will be seeing us :) read more

Great food, great atmosphere, great prices, and AMAZING experience. Their menu has a vast amount of cuisines. Appetizers are tasty and the freshly bakes bread is delicious. They have an option on the menu to pick two different things. This is great if you can't decide what you want out of the giant mouth watering menu. If any of you Yelper's are in the Merrimack Valley, and are looking for somewhere to eat, I highly recommend T-Bones on Route 28 in Salem NH. It's always packed and that does suck, but you can call ahead and they'll tell you what time your table will be ready. They say they take no reservations, but, pretty much that's what they do. The bar and restaurant have a very friendly, pleasant atmosphere. The drinks are very good. When ordering your meal you can basically substitute any sides. They are very accommodating and receive their guests in a kind way. The waiters don't drive you crazy with talk while you're trying to eat. The food is very good, and always ask for the bread. They make the best bread. It's not an old crowd, but, the people who go there on a regular basis are in their 30's and up. It's also a nice place to sit at the bar, have a drink, watch the game and not get hounded. You can actually relax and the occasional one liner is always around, but, on the whole it's not a pickup joint. Highly reccomend . Just remember to call ahead to reserve a table. Went there to celebrate my two year olds birthday tonight. Before I get to how terrible our experience was both of the couples on either side complained to management about there meals. That should have been a sign.I did not complain however I knew I would have said something I should not have. First I have to say the kids meals came out quick and were hot'. The waitress kept our drinks full but that is all I have to say that is nice. My biggest complaint is that we never got our food! I had to ask for our food and had to ask for it to go. My wife and I were waiting for almost an hour for food that came in to go containers. If I wanted take out I would have ordered take out. This was not the wait staffs fault this is obviously serving wrong with management. Poor poor poor experience and none of this has anything to do with the extremely low quality of the food or the portions that we're give to us. We bailed on the 99 for TBones as our special place it is time to look for somewhere else as our place. read more

I didn't even have a yelp account until I went here last night, and it was good enough to sign up. We walked in during a snow storm, and the bartender was calling last call. We sat for a minute and we decided we didn't want to be "those guys" and we got up to leave. The manager overheard us and came over to insisted we stay for dinner, since you may have been the only place still open and he did not want anyone to leave there without being fat and happy. We were very happy after shoveling all day. The burger with all the peppers and onions and sauces was amazing, and the bartenders were hilarious and very nice. We loved our first time there, and that wasn't even why we will be back. On our way home we wiped out and got stuck on the street and couldn't get out. Out of the blue another car pulled up, and it was the same manager . He saw us stuck and pulled over to help us push the car. There's no way he could have known it was us. It was an honest to goodness good deed. After a few tries we got out, and Tbones now has new customers for life. We can't remember his name (mark/mike?), but we owe him beers! read more

Thanks to the reviews on Yelp, we found our way out of Friday night traffic for dinner. Dinner was tasty, my husband and I shared a burger and the buffalo chicken wrap. The kids enjoyed their meals as well as the etch-a-sketchs to keep them busy. Our service was fantastic. Overall, a very pleasant experience and we will probably make it a usual stop on the way to the mountains. read more

I wanna love this place because I have had pretty decent meals before but my last visit was a little disappointing to say the least. I ordered the steak tip dinner and menu said 9 oz of steak tips. Ok. Great! Not bad for $18 I guess. Well.... Plate came and there were 3 little tiny steak tips, about 4 oz's of meat I would guess. Very cheap for paying $18 for the meal. So I was very disappointed. The flavor of the 3 morsels were great though. Just wish I got what I paid for. Also had onion rings and felt they were not cooked through and a little hard still. We don't understand what has happened to our "spot" almost a full decade of 2-4 times a month visits may be coming to an end. The past two times we were there not good. Two weeks ago, I sent my steak back twice, my Wife sent hers back once. Well done is the easiest way to cook. when it comes out medium rare then medium hang it up.The management made it right with a 25 dollar cert. tonight was just bad the bread was old and stale sent it back. found something in the potato skins, green like a seed or bean, we were told "its a busy kitchen stuff happens". The waitress was not friendly or polite. Ever since they opened the market in Manchester the place has been going down hill. Prices are up food quality is down staff has been not good. T-Bones used to have that something extra, like you were family, that is gone now. Sad We continued to go to this spot as it is truely the only restaurant we actually trust and we both hate change. T Bones was good... about 20 years ago. I feel they have really gone downhill, possibly because they added so many restaurants to the chain. The prices are expensive for the amount of food you get. I got a cheesesteak wrap and wanted jalapeno peppers added. They charged me $1 for 2 little slices of jalapeno! I got their lobster rolls last summer. It was about 60% mayo and lettuce, and the lobster meat was unrecognizable. The only saving grace is the warm bread and the service, which is exemplary. read more

Went for the first time the other night and i must say the food is mediocre, service is bad and have no plans on ever returning

Went here last week. It was only ok. It was on a Friday night and the wait was 45 minutes. Not a big deal, because there would be a wait anywhere. After being seated, our waiter came over pretty quickly and took our drink orders. That was the last time he was prompt. Took a while for our drinks (which were just sodas, nothing that needed to be made). He dropped them off, and walked away without even asking if we were ready to order. When he finally came back about 10 minutes later, our drinks were gone but he did bring us refills. That was the last time we saw him at our table. Other staff brought our food over, even though we could see him standing around. After about 15 more minutes, our appetizers came out. They were not that great. They were typical bar type appetizers. Dinners were also not great. My salad had very little lettuce and tons of toppings. If there had been enough lettuce, I would have enjoyed the salad. But I think I had about 10 bites before I finished the lettuce part of the salad. My boyfriend had the sirloin tips. They were overcooked, he ordered them medium and they were closer to well done. He said the onion rings were very good though. And the bread was amazing. Will most likely not go back. read more

Great steaks, their flavors are so good. The prices are a little more than other steak places around, but your meal, and the service is well worth it. The staff here is a little more mature than at other steak restaurants in town, so I must say that I love that the person taking my order knows about steak, and isn't a 17 year old ditz too busy flirting with the bus boy to notice you need a refill. But that's just me! If I am in the mood for steak, this is the place to go. Their other food is good too. I have had chicken, salads, soups, etc. All delish. While I have brought my kids, I have had to remove my kids as well. They don't usually misbehave, but this place has a quieter setting than some other places, so I didn't want to disturb anyone. If you're going to bring children, be prepared to take them outside if they get a little antsy in their pantsy. Kids are welcome; they have a full kids menu, but I didn't see anyone else with kids, and didn't want to be the one to ruin anyone's date night. read more

My family and I always stop here on our yearly trips to nearby Canobie lake park, and it's always a treat. Today's visit was no different. The service was very quick (though it was about 6:00 on a Monday so not too busy) and the waiter was very nice and helpful, dishing out the drinks and delicious bread posthaste, and no sooner had I finished my water than I was asked if I wanted a refill. I generally prefer more hands-off service, but it contributed to the atmosphere which was very friendly and relaxed. As for the food, I ordered the shrimp pasta off the healthy "pink coat" options, of which there are many and lots of variety, from the obvious salads and broiled haddock to seafood casserole. It had a very distinctive spice to it and the broccoli that came with it was cooked to perfection. It was fresh, light, and satisfying without being overbearing. My sister had the chicken finger platter, and she was raving about it the entire time. When I tried it, it was very juicy and flavorful as fried chicken should be. It had a slight oily aftertaste, but that was easily quelled by one of the dipping sauces provided. After the meal, everyone was so full and stricken with food coma that we couldn't eat dessert, but I had p I highly recommend t bones if you're in the area. Its got a great, friendly feel and fresh, flavorful food.
