I'm so sad :( This used to be one of our favorite spots to stop by Now it's like you have to have a strict financial plan before you walk in there because everything is now raised $1-$3 including their drinks. I got an Italian soda that was decent with no whip which..normally something you get with it. Few years back it was around $3.75. Now that drink is $5.75. So just fyi the menu online is not the same as the prices in person Now the food itself was very yummy! I would say the bulgogi dishes actually are even better than what I recall. There were a lot less fries to the bulgogi plate and more cheese if anything. If you are not sharing and have more than one person with you, beware of the price change. This cafe is in Lakewood and is great for snacks and doing some work. Our son has fencing practice (yes, sword fighting) near here. My wife and I often find ourselves here for a coffee or tea and a snack usually one of 4 French fry basket (There's Bulgogi & cheese, Pork & cheese, Spicy pork & cheese, or just regular). This place is the spot! The Bulgogi fries were so dang good. The sauces on top complemented each other perfectly with a balance of spice and sweet. The main reason I came was for the taiyaki though. I had mine filled with custard and served with ube and vanilla ice cream, topped with fruity pebbles and a Pocky. When I say this was the perfect dish, i can't express it enough. Drove from Shoreline to South Tacoma/Lakewood in rush hour traffic during the muggy squalls with The Homie and his college friend. Thankful for the rolling slowdown with moments of speed in the HOV lane on I-5 South. We located the all ages venue they were to catch two of bands performing. We then explored a long stretch of South Tacoma Way...variety of businesses, car dealerships, and Asian & Korean-centric grocery stores and retail. Dropped them off at a video game store before their concert and I continued to zigzag checking out a few shopping centers that included Pal-Do and H-Mart. I stopped in at T-Town Cafe at the recommendation of my ex. I was glad to visit an indie with a menu and hours that allowed safe haven for awhile. Limited outdoor seating, but vast indoor seating area and thankful it was relatively clean, lots of couples and families dining onsite, and saw that there's takeout available too. Their menu covered desserts from bingsoo, taiyaki, and ice cream. Beverages included soda, milk tea, Thai iced tea, espresso, Italian sodas, and bubble tea. Savories had some Korean snack/entree items plus huge grilled sandwiches, fries, and salads. It was one of the few places along this stretch that had a lot of patrons due to their later business hours until 2100. I had the pork sandwich ($12.95) with added fries and soda ($5.50)...with tax and 20% tip came to under $25. Way too much food! I ate only half my fries, all the grilled pork, and left the grilled bun behind. Refreshing Pepsi with ice hit the spot on this muggy early evening. I was here primarily to have a safe place to hangout and grab something to eat while the guys were at the all ages venue. It served the overall objective. It was disappointing though that there is no separated containers for trash, recycling, and compost...the trash was overflowing by the utensil & condiment station, a bit unsightly. But the entire time I was onsite, there was a constant flow of customers to dine onsite or for takeout orders. Patrons, like myself were good at busing their tables so the dining area remained relatively clean and orderly. Finally, a counter person had the opportunity to tackle the pile of trash, used dishes, and trays. They were just understandably pretty swamped. With that person now sweeping the dining area floor, that's my cue to leave as I completed this Yelp post. read more

I wanted to take my daughter out for some ice cream and this was the only place opened @11am that served ice cream so I decided to check it out. I arrived as soon as they opened and there was a couple people ahead of me, but the order came out quickly. We tried the taiyaki soft serve and the only flavors available were green tea or vanilla this day. I really wanted to try ube.. maybe next time hopefully it's available. I come here every so often- anywhere from a few times a week to once a month. This is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Tacoma, and Washington in general. The atmosphere is cozy, and you pay first at the counter which makes dining and leaving entirely at your leisure. The workers have always been welcoming and friendly. I've tried their savory taiyaki, dessert taiyaki, tteokboki, bulgogi fries, potato corndog, and standard corndog. I've never had an issue with their food in my many times of eating here- the food is very consistent and high quality. I would recommend all of these items to anyone. The taiyaki is perfectly textured and never overcooked. The bulgogi is delicious and on top of fries makes for a unique texture. The corndogs are all amazing, but my preference leans towards all-cheese potato corndogs. My current favorite as of the change in weather has been their tteokbokki. The rice cakes have a perfect texture, and the cabbage is fresh and adds a nice sweetness. It's spicy and warming and has a lovely black pepper flavor in there somewhere. If you like spicy, wholesome food I recommend getting a tteokbokki to warm you up this fall! read more

They are definitely unique tasting with the mixing flavors of the cheese, potatoes, hotdog, sugar, ketchup BUT all of the flavors actually work really well together. not something i would eat all of the time but it was fun to try. The bingsoo comes in two sizes, cup and bowl - the bowl was a nice sharing size but honestly you could save some money and split the cup size since it was still a lot of bingsoo. Compared to Snowy Village or Milkie Milkie, I'd say this is on the Milkie Milkie side (less sweet). It's still sweet, but different from Snowy Village because I think Snowy Village sweetens their shaved ice/milk. The snow here tastes less sweet. Most of the flavor is in the toppings so make sure you grab a little bit of everything in one spoon. The oreo bingsoo had plenty of oreos, cookies and cream ice cream, and some mochi pieces. The mango bingsoo had vanilla ice cream with mango sauce and mango pieces, which were really soft. I can't wait to try other things on the menu if I'm ever in the area! read more

When I asked if ours was coming she said it is coming. Very rude! They weren't even busy at this point. A decent dessert place that is right next to Ho Soon Yi. We shared a cup of snowflake aka bingsoo - black sesame injeolmi, as well as a hotteok + mango soft serve. Overall, the desserts are not too sweet - my favorite level of sweetness. The bingsoo is quite icy with a hint of condensed milk flavor. There is a vanilla ice cream on top, along with red beans, as fixings that give the dessert a bit more sugar. The injeolmi is very soft and chewy even given that they are placed on the bingsoo which is susceptible to harden quick. The hotteok (Korean honey pancake) is quite good - it was interesting the chilled it so that the soft serve does not melt so fast, but the overall structure of the pancake is not too soggy. I love the flavor of the mango soft serve, and it did not overpower the sweetness and honey flavor of the pancake. Keep in mind the hotteok soft serve will take quite a while - it took 20 minutes for that to arrive. There were a few misses - the injeolmi barely had black sesame flavor, and we mentioned to have chocolate syrup for the hotteok soft serve as part of the free topping but they never gave that to us. read more

It was freshly made and hot when I got it. It has a really nice honey sweetness filling which went well with the subtle green tea ice cream. Customer service was not bad but not very nice & inviting. Ordered bulgolgi fries these were pretty good but not great, honey pancakes which were delicious and potatoe cheese dog, also yummy. Will come back and try other items. Some things we did notice: we were directed to the sign of no outside food or drinks, we had to go out and leave our drinks in the car. Also there seemed to be crumbs on chairs, back of bench seating and along the floor boards. Our table had what seemed to be old sticky napkin on it, see pics, and other tables were not too clean.
