I have been waffling between 4 and 5 stars for T4U for about a year now. I think I just need to suck it up and write this review though, so I'm taking the easy way out and just going with... 4.5. Since T4U opened, it has fast become the go-to boba place for me and my friends. Sorry Cool Tea Bar, but you've been replaced. The only crappy thing about T4U is the parking, which, when busy, is truly abysmal. Things I like: + Customization customization customization! I feel like these days... if a boba place doesn't offer customization, that's a big negative for me. I generally like my drinks less sweet than the average person, so being able to customize sugar level and ice level is a big plus for me. + Staff: Everyone here is super nice and the owner, if you are lucky enough to be able to meet her, is the sweetest person ever! + Games! As a self-professes board game geek, I love that they have games here that you can play while enjoying your drinks and snacks. + Speaking of snacks... T4U offers a fairly extensive menu of the types of snacks that you would expect to find at a milk tea place (aka. crispy fried chicken/popcorn chicken, fried tofu, etc.) and more! + Tea and boba: The teas and actual boba/pearls here are quite good. The boba, while not honey boba, is appropriately chewy and the teas are brewed well. My go-to drink here is the Classic Rose Milk Tea with boba and 0% sugar and 30% ice. Yes, you read that right-- 0% sugar. You may think this sounds crazy, but with 0% sugar, the tea is still pretty sweet. My theory is that the rose syrup that they use for flavoring has quite a bit of inherent sweetness. tl;dr: Go-to boba place for me, my friends, and a bajillion other people. I've been wanting to try T4 for some time now, but I was sadly disappointed with the drinks I ordered. I did not expect the drinks to be so extremely sweet at 80% (expecting 100% to be regular sweetness)! I felt like I was literally drinking fructose. The drinks I got were the Mango royal tea with the sea salt foam, and the rose royal tea. Both drinks were incredibly sweet, so it was difficult to enjoy. The rose tea is extremely floral as well, so beware of that. Their milk foam isn't anything out of the ordinary; not the best I've had, but not the worst. Workers were nice, so no complaints on service. My boyfriend and I were greeted promptly, and they seemed to be working hard--rather than chatting around as you see in most boba shops. Our favorite thing about this place were all the games they offered! We played jenga, cards, foosball, and some other labyrinth game they had. You can kill many hours playing games here; I loved it! Stumbled upon this place since it was right down the street from my in-laws. It was easily noticeable. There was a parking lot for it, which is a plus! Interior was super cute and welcoming. Instantly greeted! Menu is hugeeee! BUT they don't have Honey Dew flavor. They offer a food menu tho. I ordered the Thai Milk Tea and it was good but it weirdly stained my mouth and lips orange. Never experienced that before with Thai Milk Tea before. We also ordered the Taro Tea and that one was surprisedly pretty good. It tasted like taro and not like a imitation type. I understand the process due to the COVID-19 restrictions but this wasn't the 1st time even before the pandemic. This experience reminded me as to why I don't come here often. Yesterday I placed an order via online. When I arrived I was the 3rd person in line. The employees were working hard as usual. The person working the front said my order would be ready in about 15 mins. I waited there for almost an hour and finally got my drink and the cashier said they had to refund me back for the food because they didn't have time to make it. I'm like... WTF so y'all had me waiting here for almost an hour for 1 drink??? Also the employees were more worried and focused about getting the delivery orders out than the people waiting in line or had on line orders. The food and drinks there don't suck. I like this joint because, despite it being a chain, it's high quality and pretty much the only place in Downtown Sac where you can get a boba fix! I went with the taro milk tea with boba--everything tasted delicious without overdoing it (ice, sugar level, etc.). The popcorn chicken was one of the best I've ever had. Was it the seasoning? Was the oil they fried it in new? Was it the fact that they have ketchup and ranch bottles you can use at your will? Who knows, but if you want some legit popcorn chicken to tame that craving, this is your spot! They had free/fast wi-fi and the staff was helpful and not rude. T4 officially became my to go boba tea place, they have one of the best ones I have tried around Sacramento! I became a fan immediately! I tried the panda milk tea as well as the milk tea with pineapple jelly, both absolutely delicious. The service was absolutely great, I had questions about some of the drinks and the cashier explained everything to me. There's nothing like great customer service and T4 definitely has it! T4U, tea for me, tea for everybody! Boba places tend to have simple, catchy names involving a vowel, and T4U checks all those boxes. For a decent variety boba stop with sweet and savory snacks such as crepes and popcorn chicken, T4U is a satisfying option in downtown Sacramento. I tried a taro milk tea with panda boba, and it was slightly higher than a quickly, but not as tasty as SoCal boba which uses fresh taro. The white boba was an interesting texture, and I appreciate that the agar is healthier than tapioca. The tea generally is well brewed and the boba is solid, I just wish they opted for slightly fresher ingredients such as the addition of fresh taro bits of warm honey boba. Otherwise this place is a good value and you can even customize the amount of ice and sugar in certain milk teas. I wish they opened a location closer to the Capitol building, I'd stop by often in summer or hot days. The lunch specials (popcorn chicken rice or curry chicken rice) look delicious. And the drinks are good, and the menu has a wide variety, if they provided more fresh ingredient additions then it'd be a 5/5. But for now, T4U earns a solid 4 stars! read more

Stopped by here tonight for an event and were we ever impressed with this establishment! Neither of us had ever had a milk tea before let alone cold tea with toppings! I had the Snow Globe Milk Tea which has boba in it which sink to the bottom and reminded me of mochi and it was absolutely a surprise burst of flavor and fun chewing on the boba. My other half had the Mango Pineapple with Basil Seeds. It was so unique and delicious. They have a huge selection of teas to choose from so we are definitely going back to experience more surprising flavors. I remember trying this place in natomas because someone posted a photo of their flour bun. I tried the royal Rose tea and a milk tea. Everything was ok. The flour would have been that good if their wasn't any condensed milk. I decided to try this place again because I actually live down the street from this one. I think I tried the panda milk tea and it was gross. I'm not sure if it was the black/oolong tea that they used but if myself and two other people tried it and it was good, then it just not be good. But honestly you have to find what's right for you here. For example I think the green tea with mango ice cream is rely good. The jasmine milk tea is really good. Anything royal tea is really good. I tried their green tea Unsweetened and that was bitter but I still really liked it. So now I come here often. Just to get my favorites. What bugs me is when I ask for extra ice: I understand there are too many things already in that cup. Adding more ice would just mean no tea: but for me it's ok. I don't mind it. I just like it extra cold. Some may say it doesn't make a different but for me it does. But I like this place: it's close to home and it's good plus their service is always great. Milk tea is hands down my favorite drink. I've had my fair share of milk tea in California, and the milk tea here T4 is one of the best I've ever had. There are so many good things about this place: the tea, the pearls/boba, the many flavors and combinations, the PRICE, the free wifi, the fun board games, etc. I just can't get enough of this place! Every time I go here, the tea is always good and consistent. The green tea has a strong flavor by itself, but it becomes subtle and balances well with the milk and the toppings. The boba here is also really good. It's chewy, soft, and slightly sweet, and most importantly, it's perfectly cooked. Most places either under cook or overcook the boba, but not T4! It's perfect every time. Another great thing about this place is the quality of the ingredients. The teas are great, the boba is amazing, but the other ingredients are also top notch. The coconut jelly, grass jelly, pudding, and aloe are all great toppings! Also, the combinations here are endless, just like any other boba shop. I highly recommend the Okinawa Milk Tea, the Taro Milk Tea, the WIntermelon Milk Tea, the Candy Pear Black Tea, and the Panda Milk Tea. The prices also keep me from coming back. I'm from Reno, NV, and boba in Reno is expensive. Milk teas in Reno are about $4-$5 for a regular size, and it's not even that good! At T4, it's $3-$4 and amazing! They also have a happy hour! I've never heard of a boba shop with a happy hour, but more places should do this. The happy hour here is from 6-9pm, I think? Don't quote me on that though. But during happy hour, your drink is automatically upgraded to the large size for no extra cost! Another thing T4 does is punch cards! For every 9 drinks you buy, you get the 10th drink for free! Other great things about this place is that the wifi is free, so you can study here/get work done if you would like. And they have a shelf full of board games in the back, so you and your friends can hang out here for hours if you want. Overall, I love T4. It's one of the best boba chains in Sacramento! Boba drinks aren't new to me, but I'm definitely no expert. My friends and I came by about 30 minutes before closing and the place still had customers sitting around. I liked the fact that the place stays open super late (11:00pm). The inside looked super clean, the decor was cute, and it looked like a good place to meet up with friends for a drink or just to study. There is a menu of all the drinks and then a big canvas that has all the top drinks. It was my first time there and with the boba places I've been to, no one has ever asked me what percentage of ice and sweetness I wanted in my drink so I was a little thrown off. Like I said, I'm no boba expert. I usually order and get my drink the way that it's made. I don't go all crazy and customize the shit out of my drinks. Don't get me wrong, it's cool that they customize it to your liking too, but as a first timer here, I prefer tasting the drink the way it's supposed to be made so I can judge whether or not I like it. I ordered the Panda milk tea and my friends ordered 3 other drinks. I tried paying with an older hundred dollar bill and the young girl behind the counter held it up and looked at it for the longest time like she had never seen one before. Yes, it's a real hundred dollar bill and probably came out before you were born. Dude, you're not going to find the extra Benjamin Franklin watermark. After staring at it a while, she rejected it and asked if I had smaller bills. Okay... The drink itself was just okay. I wasn't overly impressed. Nothing stood out for me. I was not a fan of the bobas specifically in the Panda milk tea. The bobas had different textures. The parking lot is angled and small. It is shared by other businesses in the lot. There were a couple of people who double parked which didn't help. The parking lot was a cluster at 10:30pm, so I don't want to imagine the hot mess during the day time. The lot was so small that as we were trying to back out to leave the parking lot, cars trying to enter the parking lot had to wait in the street before our spot became available. Apparently they also have a stamp card, but I was not told about this by the young girl at the counter. I found out afterwards while reading Yelp reviews. Overall, the price was affordable, seating area was spacious and clean, customer service was okay, and the drink was okay. This by far is our favorite boba place in Sacramento. We've been to at least 4 and this is my favorite! It was recommended by a nurse at UC Davis and I'm glad we took her word for it! I had the pearl milk tea (top pick) and my hubby had the Okinawa milk tea (top pick) which both were amazing! No wonder they're top favorites. The spot is nice and clean, modern vibe. The girls behind the counter are nice and very quick. We also ordered fries and popcorn chicken which was also amazing! Fresh! Overall impression was great! I was craving boba while nine months pregnant and decided to try this shop since I've heard great things about it. I ordered the milk tea with coffee jelly but when they called my order I saw the drink labeled "earl gray milk tea". I went to talk to an employee and explained that I ordered the regular milk tea and not earl gray tea. He explained that they used earl tea to make the milk teas but that doesn't make sense because most boba shops make their milk teas with black tea. I asked if I could switch it out because I really do not like earl tea and the employee said he would not be able to. The woman behind the counter definitely listened when I said I enjoy tea and flavors, but nothing overly sweet. She recommend the Panda Milk Tea with the pearl boba and also recommended I "lower the sweetness" to about 25% or 50%-- which, BTdubb, I love that that's a THING! Came here during my visit to Sacramento since it was the first business to pop up on yelp under "boba." service here was great-- greeted right away upon entering and cashier had a smile on his face while taking my order. I ordered a jasmine milk tea with boba (no adjustments) and popcorn chicken over rice. The jasmine milk tea was overwhelmed with sweetness. It tasted like a rock sugar. As for the actual boba, perfect-- soft and chewy. The popcorn chicken over rice was delicious and really a bang for your buck. They are very generous on the rice and it was sprinkled with sesame seeds, mmmmm. I also appreciate the eco-friendly to-go box. Overall, the boba shop and restroom was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Service here is really nice. I've been to a couple T4's by now and this one is run pretty well. My only complaint is that they are often out of toppings like regular boba. I also feel that the tea is sometimes weak. However, I do like the fact they let you customize the ice and sweetness. Lastly, parking is pretty challenging here, especially getting in and out of their parking lot. read more
