    Seafood Molcajete
    Sandra M.

I'm from Livermore and so disappointed in myself for not going here any sooner. The Seafood Molcajete is fire, shrimp cocktail amazing, fish seviche, tacos de lengua and burrito de asada were delicious. Yes, I had to try a little bit of everything. Best service, super friendly staff and the bar was a plus 100%.

Drove out to Livermore from Castro Valley in search for delicious fish burritos and found it at Ta Con Todo. The staff here is super friendly and cracked jokes with us. We came during the World Cup but it wasn't terribly busy. The food was delicious and the burritos were massive. I loved the crispy fish in my burrito, although I think some sort of sauce could've added a nice flavor to it all. I'd definitely come here again though--they have so many different dishes to try!

Had a family gathering for 18 here on a Saturday. The service was wonderful and attentive. Maria was so helpful with the menu and flexible with accommodating each and every one of us. We took over the alcove area that was festively decorated. Mariscada, margaritas, quesabirria, Baja fish and shrimp tacos were the highlights! To top things off, Maria offered a free birthday shot, dessert and birthday song to the birthday person. We can't wait to come back!

My food dish was filled with really good seafood. The plate was more than I could finish, though I tried really hard.

The food was solid overall. I had the aguachiles -- the flavor was good, but it was definitely very spicy. If you're sensitive to heat, I'd be cautious ordering it. The texture was a little more grainy than I prefer, but not a dealbreaker. Dessert was the highlight for me. The flan was smooth and really well done, and the fried bananas with lechera were easily my favorite part of the meal. The Exotica margarita stood out too -- refreshing and well-balanced. Service was great, very friendly and attentive. Overall, a solid Mexican spot I'd come back to.

Stopped in again after many years. When they first opened, the food was really good--unfortunately, not the case today. I came for lunch around 2:30 pm and was seated promptly. The restaurant wasn't busy, plenty of open tables. I ordered iced water and was given a menu. Since it was Taco Tuesday ($1 off street tacos), I asked the waitress if their crispy tacos were like a Taco Bell hard shell or the deep-fried type with meat inside (where you open the shell to add salsa). She replied, "Not like Taco Bell." I ordered two crispy tacos and a side house salad with 1000 Island dressing. When the food arrived, the tacos were exactly like Taco Bell--freshly fried, but still not what I was expecting. I was looking for something closer to a Jack in the Box-style fried taco, only better. Sadly, these were nothing special. The side salad was $8.95, very small, and came with just a few slices of cucumber and cherry tomatoes--more like a $4.75 salad. Overall, the food was disappointing compared to my first visit years ago. Sadly, I won't be coming back.

Food was solid! Not mind-blowing but solid. We tried the molcajete and enchiladas divorciadas. The molcajete was pretty good and I loved the chicken in the red sauce. The beef was a little tough though. I wish it came with avocado like the other times I've had molcajete elsewhere but maybe I'm ignorant and that they intentionally don't put avocado or something lolol. The meat options for enchiladas were chicken, beef, or cheese and I chose beef, which ended up being a tad dry. I went on Father's Day and they had a trio walking around and taking song requests. Not sure if they always have this but it was super fun and I loved it! Service was a little spotty and slow at times but I could really tell they were doing their best. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

We drive by this restaurant all the time. Thank goodness it was CINCO DE MAYO and we found the great reviews on yelp. Best , most authentic Mexican food ever. We split the mixed fajitas and it was plenty. The tortillas are hand made and the margaritas the best. We will be back!!!

Ok so after scouring the menus of all of the other Taco places in Livermore, this place had mushroom tacos as well as zucchini/corn tacos. It's so rare to find vegetarian tacos! Let me tell you, my husband said he would order these in the future instead of carne asada!! So flavorful, textures on point. Super happy :) The guacamole was good and the churros were just ok. The chips and salsa were fresh and great. Modelo on draft....what more can you ask for? I'll be checking out their happy hour next time!

We were in the neighborhood and getting hungry. Turned to good ole yelp which suggested this place. Checked the reviews and set my GPS to here. We opted to dine in as oppose to sit out to enjoy the nice weather. Ricardo was our waiter and was attentive, checked on us and cleared plates. Place has a wide selection of options for everybody. I ordered the coctel d camaron and unlike other places where they only give you a couple of shrimps, it was loaded and they were no skimpy. Hubs plate was delicious rich in flavor. My daughter's quesadilla was great Highly recommend and kudos to Ricardo.

This location is in one of my favorite quaint downtowns in the Bay Area, Livermore, and really delivers on the comfort food front with lots of creative riffs on American classics that will make your cardiologist shake their head in disappointment. The Good: * Happy Hour M-Fri 2:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Online reservations and waitlist via Toast (access through their website) * Seasonal menus so there is always something new to try. * Friendly service * Full bar with signature cocktails, as well as local beers and ciders on tap. * The brisket dinner wasn't quite what I was expecting, as it was more of a pot roast than a BBQ classic, but man, it was one of the best pot roasts I've ever had. The beef was smoky, succulent, and melted in your mouth. The concomitant jalapeño mashed potatoes were a fantastic accompaniment, as you got all the flavor of the jalapeño but just enough heat to make it an excellently balanced dish. * The BBQ beans were more of a bean soup, but delicious and smoky nonetheless. The Meh: * Limited menu for vegetarians and vegans The Ugly: * Street parking can be tough to come by, especially on weekends, but if you don't mind walking, there is a free city-run garage on Maple St. that has tons of spots and is shaded from those hot Livermore summers. Conclusion: Great place to get drunk, fat, and happy. Need I say more? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, I got here on a Saturday with no reservations. I definitely understood having to wait under those circumstances and I was okay with that. I was told it would be 20 minutes. What I want to focus on is that we were the next group to be seated. There was only two of us. Another group with 4 people walked in about 15 min later after us with no reservations but they were seated almost immediately. The hostess did not acknowledge us nor said anything. Awhile after that I counted 3 different groups leaving - a tota of 8 people. We waited patiently and kept waiting thinking we would be seated. 20 minutes slowly pass by, then another 5, then another 5.. I looked over and saw two tables completely empty. I was literally outside the door after about 45inutes and my phone buzzed. Come to find out that they had 3 open tables available the entire time. The decor is tiki themed along with the drinks however the music playing in the background was jazz. Not sure how that fits the theme. Also, the drinks averaged about $20 and small bites and desserts ranged from $13-$20. I'm torn about wanting to return here.

We were there at 5:45pm on a Saturday and only a couple tables were taken up so we got a spot no problem. Savory girls, this one's for you! My friends both enjoyed their tamarind tequila cocktail and the non-alcoholic blackberry sage smash. We ordered the whipped feta which came topped with wine-soaked pluots, aleppo pepper, and fermented honey. This was absolutely to die for when scooped up with the fluffy, warm pita on the side. Even before our visit, the staff we spoke with on the phone came across as rude and unhelpful. Thankfully, once we were seated, our waitress was very nice, attentive, and probably the best part of the experience. The food, however, was very disappointing. My wife ordered the steak medium-well, but it came out medium-rare, which was frustrating because her requested temperature seemed to have been completely ignored. I ordered the Marin Coast Halibut. The fish lacked seasoning to the point that I had to ask for salt just to give it some flavor. The sauce was also completely cold, which made the dish even less enjoyable. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected much better execution. For dessert, we tried the Milk & Honey. It sounded interesting, but the honeycomb component basically tasted like hardened sugar and was overwhelmingly sweet rather than adding anything special to the dessert. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and our waitress provided good service, but between the difficulty getting a reservation, the unpleasant phone interaction, improperly cooked steak, and disappointing food, I don't understand the high ratings. For the price and reputation, we expected a much better meal. Unfortunately, I don't think we would return.

The vibe here is lively, fun, and vibrant. Reservations are definitely highly recommended since it gets so popular. The entire staff is awesome, but a massive shout-out goes to our waitress, Ashley--she was fantastic and provided incredible service throughout the entire night! We ordered a wide variety of dishes to share, and every single one was a hit: * Fritto Marechiaro: A wonderful mix of fresh calamari, jumbo prawns, sliced zucchini, and artichoke hearts. Everything was fried to a light, crispy perfection and paired wonderfully with the signature Locanda Capri sauce. * Pane e Olive: Crisp, fresh baguette from local Wingen Bakery served alongside Locanda's classic olive tapenade. Rich, savory, and the perfect starter bite. * Fiori di Zucca: Delicate zucchini blossoms stuffed with creamy ricotta and mozzarella, served over a rich marinara sauce. These were absolutely delicious and melted in your mouth. * Penne alla Vodka: Tender penne pasta tossed with smoked mozzarella, Parmesan, and cracked pepper in a rich, creamy vodka pink sauce. Yummy and comforting! * Parmigiana di Melanzane: Mamma Carmela's famous eggplant parmigiana layered with melted mozzarella and tomato sauce. Hearty, warm, and bursting with authentic Italian flavor. * Pollo Piccata: Tender organic chicken breast served in a bright, zesty lemon-butter sauce with Sicilian capers, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and rainbow baby carrots. * Branzino Locanda: Fresh Mediterranean seabass filet lightly breaded with panko and topped with a bright lemon sauce, served with velvety mashed potatoes and rainbow baby carrots. Delicately crispy on the outside and wonderfully flaky inside. * Polpette della Mamma: Homemade beef meatballs cooked to tender perfection, served in a rich marinara sauce with Parmesan cheese and crisp crostini for dipping. Warm, comforting, and packed with flavor. * Beet Salad: A crisp, refreshing mix of wild baby arugula, mixed greens, sweet golden and red beets, tangy goat cheese crumbles, and juicy blood orange slices. * Espresso Martini & Wine: The drinks were top-tier. The espresso martini was amazing, bold, and perfectly balanced. We also ordered a bottle of Collefasani Bacchanalia Falerno del Massico Bianco D.O.C., which was served perfectly chilled--crisp, refreshing, and not too sweet. * Almond Cheesecake: For dessert, we treated ourselves to the almond cheesecake. It was rich, creamy, and served with fresh strawberries and whipped cream--the ideal sweet note to wrap up the night. Overall, it was a fantastic evening filled with great energy, outstanding hospitality, and incredible food.
