Finally have my new go-to Chinese spot! After the spot I had been going to since I was a kid closed, I was tasked with finding a new one that was close by and could live up to my favorite. I heard the owner of my old spot recommended this one, so we were off to an optimistic start. We ordered delivery directly from the restaurant and it was only $5, they also found our apartment very easily something most delivery drivers don't do. Since the order was directly from the restaurant there was no way to track it, but they arrived right around the timeframe they said it would take. Everything we had was pretty solid. I loved the chow mein, and the beef with green beans, eggplant, and General's chicken were all really good. The war wonton soup wasn't exactly like the one I'm used to, but it was still better than a lot that I've had and very flavorful. The only thing that really didn't live up was the fried rice. We celebrated my older brother and cousin's birthday celebration at Best Taste yesterday for lunch. My brother is a frequent guest and my family and I have also been here several times. We've taken food to-go and we also enjoy dining in. Their service is always friendly and fast. The food comes-out hot and fresh. The menu was put together by my sister-in-law and my cousin's girlfriend. They made sure to order dishes based upon the dietary restrictions of the guests. It's always nice to see a restaurant listen to dietary needs and deliver. Due to the size of our group, we were the only guests during the lunch period. That was really appreciated by all. The dishes were delicious and filling. The menu consisted of Steamed Rice, Chicken Chow Fun, Orange Chicken, Chicken Salad, Fish Tempura, Sweet & Sour Pork, Chicken with Black Bean Sauce and Watermelon. Took a chance and tried Best Taste Chinese restaurant (sorry folks, no more sushi!) kids and I were pleasantly surprised. I was nervous at first since the dining room was empty, (though we did arrive during in between traditional lunch and dinner times.) The waiter was attentive and kind. He brought waters to our table right away. The kids were delighted by the classic Coke glasses with handles! We ordered fried rice, orange chicken, broccoli beef, and salt and pepper fish. I spotted the sign for Best Taste Chinese and Sushi Restaurant in the darkness, and decided to try their Wor Won Ton Soup. The lady greeted me, and offered me a menu. I confidently ordered a large Wor Won Ton Soup and a glass of ice water. In 10 mins, it arrived to my table.....a steaming hot bowl of Won Ton Soup. It was clear broth, with some chopped cabbage, some meat, and ten (10) plump dumplings. The soup tasted a bit mild, almost under seasoned. A splash of soy sauce made it just right. On the table there were various condiments such as soy sauce and chili oil. Also, there's chopsticks and straws. When you eat in a chinese restaurant, always try to use chopsticks. My second visit, I came to try their seafood. A very long time ago, my grandmother told me the true test of a restaurant is how well they cook fish. So I ordered the Seafood Combination, Egg Flower Soup, a bowl of rice and hot tea. The Seafood Combo had fresh fish, scallops, shrimp and squid. The dish had a delicate and light flavor. I could taste the fish. It was a blend of seafood with snow peas, squash, baby corn, carrots, and water chestnuts. The service was friendly and attentive. The restroom is clean and spacious. Did takeout for my husband's birthday - we were pleasantly impressed. Food tasted fresh and not oily or greasy. People who have left one star reviews are just bitter nitpicking people in my opinion. I have been going to this place since I was seven and I refuse to go to any other Chinese food spot. My absolute favorite dishes are the Egg Fu Young, Cashew Nut Chick, Twice Cooked Pork, and Honey walnut chicken (originally prawns). I have rarely ordered something here and been disappointed. I can't speak for the sushi, but I have had people I know say that it is not the best quality. If you're coming to this place expecting the servers and workers to be by your table and constantly on the look out for your every need, it's not that kind of place but not in a purposefully rude way. The Chinese chicken salad, Szechuan beef and beef chow fun were so good that I ate too much. I was done for the day and just fell asleep. LOL! I had a TERRIBLE! Experience with customer service. Minus 4 stars if I could. I arrived around 1 p.m., but left because it was lunchtime and deserted. (I should have left right away) The sole female present, preoccupied with her phone, offered no assistance beyond watching her show. Water was only provided upon request, and she offered nothing else to drink. The food was cold, tasteless, overpriced, and disappointing. Ordered the Mongolian beef lunch special and a salad. At first, I was a little disappointed that it was a ton of chow mein and the beef portion was so small, but turns out it didn't matter. It was all so bad I ended up throwing out all of it after a few bites. The meat was the weirdest texture (like, gristly, gummy, and something was just seriously off), and way more oily than it should have been. The noodles seemed like they were a week old. This spot is it! My boyfriend and I love coming here, it always feels like coming home! Cindy and her family are always so welcoming and treat us like family! She's always excited to see us, as we are her, and on the occasion we get to talk to her husband, he's always so kind, as well! The food is excellent! We've had many different dishes and each one has been just as delicious as the next! We especially love the Mongolian beef and the sesame chicken! And their hot and sour soup is to die for, the best hot and sour soup I've ever had! Their crab rangoons are made with real crab and their egg rolls are perfectly crunchy, even the insides, which is nice because sometimes places have soggy insides for their egg rolls. I have been coming to Best Taste Restaurant for many years but when Covid hit I stopped going. Recently, I returned and found quite a few changes made to the restaurant. The Sushi Boats are no more, and some changes to the menu. Sushi is still available from a menu. What hasn't changed is the friendliness of the owners who apparently are running this by themselves now. Many of their loyal customers have been supporting them through these times by doing takeout and recently special gatherings in their event room. Every time I come to this place I have a wonderful experience. Now it's true the restaurant needs some upgrading and remodeling but overall it's a very clean and the food is excellent. One example I give you is their lunch specials. They're an excellent value and have just about anything you would want to eat including egg foo yung. Their desserts are great such as fried banana, which is one of my favorites. Everything I eat taste fresh made and not like it's been sitting under a heat lamp. I asked for dishes made with white meat chicken. He assured me that they would make any chicken dish I chose with white meat only. I chose chicken and fresh vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. The sauce was good and ample and the chicken was very good. The service was great! The lady learned our names right away and used them.
