Great menu selection. I'm always a bit cautious when I see a restaurant with multiple cuisines and a large selection--often results in mediocre dining, but the food here was absolutely fabulous! I had their house Tabla curry with shrimp...perfectly seasoned with just the right level of spiciness and a great overall flavor. Generous portion without overdoing it. My wife had the tandoori chicken and also was very impressed. Very nicely seasoned, complex flavors with just a hint of heat. Fairly large portion, so we had to take some home. Excellent service. This was our first visit here and it's definitely on the frequent dining list! Highly recommended. read more

I literally shed tears after eating here; my disappointment was beyond extraordinary. I read and read all the reviews on Yelp and Google, and with most every one, I got excited!! I am not a fan of Indian cuisine, but I was so eager to eat some good food, that I was practically jumping up and down. We're fucking broke, ok? We have been cooking and cleaning for days and days with this virus. My husband, "R", is furloughed, and I just finished school, so the income is next to nil. I was moaning about being starving, so finally my husband agreed to try. The restaurant space is very attractive. There were three occupied tables "outside" and a small empty dining room. The host stand was outside. We stood there patiently, feeling awkward, since no employees were visible. R went inside and stood there. Finally, a server appeared with drinks in hand and went to serve them elsewhere. We stood there. A long minute passed and another guy appeared, asked us if we wanted to sit out or in, then quickly sat us indoors without another word. We looked at the menu. For a while. One server returned and asked us if we wanted something to drink and I said water..... And he left. Everything was very uncomfortable and forced. We had never been there before, and it has literally been 35 years since I had Indian food in a restaurant. I had read so much about how enjoyable and helpful the staff was, but that did NOT happen for us. We were not dressed like hoodlums and we were not there five minutes before closing. 6:45 on a Tuesday.... The server finally returned, he basically said "What can I get for you?" There was zero attempt to explain any items AT ALL. We ordered Chicken Manchurian, Tabla's Mixed Grill, Kadai (lamb in sauce) and garlic naan (per everyone's raves). We each had a Taj Mahal beer. I don't really like beer all that much but that was good! Server guy brought the crackers. Can I also say.... I feel stupid! R mentioned the silverware, and I was like, "Ohhh, yeah! I read about those online! How neat." You would think that I had never been out before, but I was ready to eat some good food, prepared properly, and served with enthusiasm. So the crackers. Think of it as the Indian version of chips and salsa. The chips were super thin and crispy with some cumin seeds in them. The crackers were satisfying, a bit salty, but the two sauces were AWESOME. The cilantro had a hide-and-seek spice, but so fresh, and the tamarind was sweet and tangy. At this point, I was still very optimistic. We finished the crackers and the plate sat there. Server guy brought the chicken. Walked away. Chicken was hot but overcooked and over-sauced by a lot. When we ordered it, Server guy asked us how spicy we wanted it? Uhm, how does is come? Mild, medium, or hot. R asked how hot was the hot? Server guy did not answer, just stood there - so R and I had a quick interchange that we probably shouldn't order hot, just in case. We ordered medium. We agreed that we could have ordered hot after the fact. Nothing bussed off the table. Main courses arrive and Server guy has to wait for me to move things around so he can place down the meals. The giant plate of steamy, grilled, meats was enormous. R's lamb was a dark brown bowl of blob. The garlic naan and rice were cold and blah.... The first thing I tried was the shrimp. Large and plump! SALT SALT SALT. REAL bummer. Fish fell to smithereens and was also completely salty. The lamb meatball disintegrated, but tasty, and too salty.... Chicken was the highlight - chargrilled chicken, whoopee. Lamb "stew" was fall apart, tasteless, dry, drowned in sauce. Server guy didn't return until we were ready to pay. We spent the entire meal with very minimal service or attention. I had checked in on Yelp and there was a $10 off for $30 spent. I showed Server guy- he acknowledged me but walked away quickly. Brought the bill and the coupon was not honored. By now, I am just sad and defeated. R gives Server guy the card and we sit there. Server guy returns the payment. R fills it out and now Server guy returns and is all apologetic and saying that he can just give us ten dollars in cash. ???? Now the dining room is as full as it can be, with spacing and all - and we are again, standing there. Server is insistent on handing us cash, and we say to forget it. Server guy will not let us leave. R tells Server guy to just give us a five? We already tipped 20% ~ which I thought was too much.... Got to the car and I cried. Overreaction? $110 could have purchased a couple pairs of shoes for my twins. Could have taken us all bowling.... But nope. I decided to come here instead. And yeah, the "owner" will leave the, "Gee, Allison C., I am sure sorry that things weren't to your liking. We will try to improve. Thanks for your feedback and we hope you give us another try." NOPE. Refund is deserved. And I have NEVER said that before. read more

Ordered a meal to pickup. Unfortunately after I arrived they stated they had no lamb. It would be helpful to get a call which is fine. Ok, no goat either, again understandable. So I asked to have salmon instead. They asked that I remove the order from the app. This I couldn't do since I was not logged in. I explained I would pay the difference. After waiting 50 minutes I took the order home. Low and behold the Salmon was some sort of salty tilapia on the bone. Usually when a restaurant has issues they comp the customer w anything, guess this restaurant is too good for that. Besides that the chicken masala and vindaloo seemed bland. Very yummy! Highly recommend. My cousins and I ate here for a girls lunch and everything was delicious. There was something for everyone, even those who didn't frequent Asian restaurants. I was also surprised by the authenticity of the food! I had Pad Thai because that's the dish I use to judge restaurants that serve Thai and it was very flavorful, I was not disappointed in the least. I live in Central Florida and this is my favorite restaurant. The Indo-Chinese fusion is fantastic. I could eat here every day. The service is impeccable. The mint sauce and tamarind sauce is all handmade and absolutely wonderful. Exceptional restaurant in a city known for excellence. Upscale modern mixed Asian/Indian restaurant on a lovely alley. Outside seating is equally cute. The menu was full of items from various locals. We were in the mood for Indian. Great place to go out to eat. My girlfriend I were walking around the Winter Park Plaza looking for a new place to eat. That's when we found Tabla, and I'm glad we did. Stumbled upon this place walking along Park Avenue in Winter Park, the decor is what drew me in. The restaurant is in a small corridor off of the street, lined with enormous Koi fish, nestled behind a large faux tree decorated with lights. Ordered takeout a few weeks ago. We saw online that they offered delivery and they were doing 20% off. They said if we wanted delivery it was 9.95 but they would waive that and not give us the 20% off. We were spending about $100 so that wasn't a good deal. We settled on the 20% off and then they said delivery would be like two hours. So we picked up. Food is not even close to as good as Mynt. Went on a weeknight, 4 other tables full of folks and staff of at least 5, yet somehow the service was subpar, not only was the waiter speaking slang, but he was slow. They have a problem with temperature regulation in the restaurant so its wither freezing or they put you next to a super hot propane heater. Food was the real problem, the crispy lotus was not crispy and overly salty, someone added way too much soy sauce to this dish. The tandoori chicken was not tandoori at all, simply pre-made and placed under a broiler. The naan was amazing and the rest was forgettable. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but thats about it. We ate lunch on a beautiful day in Winter Park and sat at a nice table in the courtyard. Service was excellent. Vegetable samosa was very good. Unfortunately the rest of the meal was very bad. The vegetable dish of cauliflower florets and potatoes with Indian spices was tasteless. Also it had a hidden pepper or two in it that was so spicy it was painful - and I like spicy food. Both tandoori oven dishes were awful. They had a pasty red coating. Not the normal marinade and seasoning that we expect. Prices higher then other Indian restaurants but it is Park Avenue so that might explain it. We will not return. read more

We wanted to try a new place and landed on Tabla. It was our first time having Indian cuisine and we were both extremely glad we did. Everything was amazing from start to finish! Our server Cletu was awesome! We asked him for a mix of selections based on classic Indian dishes and something a little more off the grid that we wouldn't be able to find anywhere else and all of his suggestions were spot and and through the roof delicious. I suggest you do the same. We had 4 different dishes and everything was packed with so much flavor! We started with Palak Ke Phil and Chicken Manchurian and for entrees we had Butter Chicken and Chaap Masala for entrees. I'd run this same program if your a first timer. On top of the great suggestions Cletu was incredibly kind and took great care of us. We complimented the chef and he came out to say thank you personally. Everyone was kind and appreciative. We really were disappointed. The broccoli in the beef and broccoli meal was over cooked. Personally, I thought it was left over from last night and reheated. Bottom-line, it was not crispy. The gravy in the Chicken Cardamom Korma had a burnt flavor, sad. The Alphonso Mango Chicken was very tasty. I had asked for spicy and it was not. They had no issue of fixing it up.
