We were looking for some Mexican food after watching a spring training baseball game. While driving in the evening to this restaurant we saw many other taco trucks and restaurants along the way. This place is very popular as it was packed but the cashier took the orders very quickly. There's a patio area outside in case the interior tables are too crowded. We ordered bean & cheese burritos and an al pastor taco. The burrito was flavored just right but I thought the taco was average.

Visiting Phoenix and looking for great Mexican food. The ratings said this was a place to try. I ordered online for pickup which was pretty easy. I ordered a Lengua taco, 2 asada tacos, cabeza taco and a gringa grande quesadilla. When I arrive, the food was ready. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I was handed a styrofoam box and told to get as many salsas and hot sauces from the salsa bar. I was eating about 10 minutes later. The quesadilla was a little greasy but had great flavored pork and plenty of cheese. The tacos were all well seasoned, tender and very flavorful. Great food and would definitely return

I enjoyed the tacos here so much, I went back up to order again after finishing my first two. I knew I wanted to try authentic mexican food, especially tacos, while in Phoenix. I heard great things about Ta Carbon, so stopped by to give it a try. When i went, the parking lot seemed kind of empty, but there were plenty of people inside. Service was quick, and I initially got 1 barbacoa taco and 1 hazz taco on flour tortillas. The toppings bar is pretty nice, with a good variety of veggies like lettuce or picked onions, and sauces to add on, My favorites were the green salsa and the avocado sauce. Both tacos had tender meat with a fantastic grilled taste, and the flour tortilla had a pleasant chew to it. The tacos are a little on the smaller side (more authentic than your average American sized taco), so between the size and the taste I was definitely left wanting more. I opted for another taco hazz, and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Atmosphere feels like you're in Mexico with super friendly staff. You order, eat and then go a DK and pay. Very simple menu. We ordered the carne asada which was fun of meats the tortilla was good overall would recommend .

My wife and I saw an article about how this place was in the top 44 restaurants in the US based on USA today so we were curious and wanted to give it a try! It definitely lived up to the hype and we will definitely be going again! The tacos were great and we also split a wonderful quesadilla! I would also recommend getting a Mexican Coke to drink as we dont have those in Ohio where I'm from and they are delicious as well!

This spot is super small and parking can be challenging because it is very popular and not that many parking spaces! Seating is extremely limited inside but there is a few tables for outdoor! You just choose which meat you want, you pay, and given a number to put on your table. There is a topping and salsa stand where you can add unlimited salsa and toppings. I got the asada tacos and they were just ok even though I could see and tell the asada was freshly made and marinated. It was pretty cheap - $3/taco but it wasn't the best taco ever! I would say it's 7/10. Probably won't recommend or return since it wasn't anything special!

Hello Amigo's, good afternoon, today was on the West side of the valley having a little work done on the 4Runner, being from the East side ( Gilbert Az ) of Phoenix there is so many more options for Mexican Food, my son called and wanted to treat me to lunch ( no argument here) so off we went to Ta'Carbon Mexican The Real Mexican Grill, the restaurant was very nice & clean inside and the decor wasn't over the top and done nicely, there's seating inside as well a very large covered patio area to dine. Austin did the ordering as it was my first time here, services was great and employees very friendly throughout the visit. Wow, the food was amazing we each had two tacos one Carne Asada & Chorizo followed by a Bomb Burrito filled with Carne Asada, Hatch Green Chilies and Cheese, that was my favorite of the meal and everything was washed down with a cold 32oz Hitcha drink ( sorry on the spelling ) so with that this is a place to stop by and have some good Mexican Food, only wish there was one on the East side of the valley.

Burro Hazz was good, but small... my mom ordered the same but her's had a lot of oil leaking out of it. The side of beans were horrible. They look like puréed baby food/Doodoo and tasted such... I didn't even taste like beans. Only bottle soda .... Just a way to get more money out of you instead of offering fountain drinks, where you can get refills. Most Mexican restaurants sell the bottled soda and offer the fountain drinks as well. Everything served on Styrofoam, which isn't good for the environment at all ... Just a mediocre place to eat Mexican food

I have visited both Ta'Carbon locations while traveling to Arizona from the East coast. The food is delicious at both locations. I like that their menu is large enough that you have options. I didn't find it super overwhelming but my family did. For the tacos they give you options of either corn or flour tortillas, which is different from other places I've been. I've had both here and the flour tortillas they use for their tacos are awesome, street taco size but super thin and has a nice chew to the tortilla. I preferred the barbacoa tacos but my family liked the other types. If you like any kind of meat, their burritos are ALL meat! I am not a fan but my family was pleasantly surprised to find an all meat burrito. They do have re-fried beans that are really good. Their salsa bar gives you lots of options and fresh cucumbers, carrots and onions. They also have grilled jalapeños. Nice options and getting as much as you need without having to ask multiple times is a nice touch. Their order system is a little confusing but after your first time ordering you will get the hang of it. I find the prices to be extremely reasonable. Being from the East coast where you pay $5 for a mediocre taco paying less than $2 seems great to me. While the food is the same at both locations, the actual locations are vastly different. The Glendale location has an extremely small indoor space and with it being so hot in Arizona eating outside is not pleasant. Especially because the smell from the trash that is near is super unpleasant. The Phoenix location is definitely better and because it's all indoors you aren't exposed to the elements or the stench of the trash. I am giving them four stars for the Phoenix location. The Glendale location could use some work. read more

Tacos here are good because of the meat and the small flour tortillas which make them the closest thing to the real thing (mexico street tacos). The bar with the salsas and other condiments is well stocked but the "water guacamole" and the veggies are not seasoned well and don't complement the tacos very well. Place is always crowded which means tacos are good, just don't expect a quiet comfortable dining experience because you will be rubbing elbows with people. If compared with Mexico tacos this place falls short, but compared to everything else around here in Phoenix, this place is pretty good, top 3 taco places in the city that's for sure. read more

Always looking for authentic Mexican food. Shouldn't be too hard living in Phoenix, but Ta'Carbon is spot on! Disappointed they didn't offer chips and guac but the carne Asada and beans are amazing. Great food for great price! Salsa bar is always stocked. Gets super busy but worth it! read more

I am Mexican and I do not consider this place authentic or as amazing as everyone else here says. If these are the "best" tacos in Phoenix then Phoenix needs to step their game up. I had the carne asada and pastor tacos. The carne asada tasted very bland. The pastor was just ok. Everything about this place is just ok. Not bad, not great. read more

Best Taco shop eva hands down! If your looking for an enchiladas, rice and beans spot this is not it! But if your down for some bomb street tacos, burros or quesadillas. This is it hands down! The Asada is de bess. If your a tripita'er its a must have! Its a small hidden treasure. It gets packed though sometimes elbow to elbow so prep yourself. Its so worth the hustle and bustle. Here's a tip, if you eat there you pay after you eat. Trust me u want to keep an open tab cause your gonna want em to keep em coming. I just wish the would expand it. I took my family from Ca they loved it! The kids tore up the quesadillas! read more

The BEST tacos ever! We would go weekly if possible in our budget lol never disappointed they have great fast service and their portions are every filling! We always get the family plate and always have leftovers. Their beans are perfectly seasoned and go perfect inside our tacos. Plus all my kids will eat is the meat and beans. Husband always gets their quesadillas and it's to die for! Must try!!! read more

Best tacos de lengua and quesadillas ever! But be ready to wait- no matter the time or day, this place is always PACKED! The guys are really quick to take and make your order but the tiny space makes it a little tough to stand around. But it's definitely worth the minor claustrophobia because the food is always excellently portioned and full of flavor (just like your nana makes)! read more

I come here every Friday, I drive about 45 minutes to get some tacos, but these tacos are not like any other tacos! The way they cook their meat is very flavorful smokey, VERY DELICIOUS! you order your food they keep your tab up front just in case you want to add on to your order WHICH YOU WILL because it is so good. SUPER CHEAP and you get your moneys worth! THEIR salsa station has a variety of toppings and salsas ranging from mild to HOT HOT HOT. There roasted jalapenos are so good! VERY PACKED all the time, waiting time for your food is fast though. They have a very friendly staff! i highly highly recommend this place! read more

As soon as I said something (though the staff did ask, too, because they noticed I wasn't eating as voraciously as usual), I was presented with options. I've been looking into an out-of-state move, despite being from here, and not being able to visit Don Juan's is a legitimate concern of mine, lol. On our first visit, I got enchiladas and instead of rice and on the side I decided to choose their potatoes. The potatoes are so delicious. Today we ordered: - Coke - Diet Coke (no Coke Zero here) - NACHOS GRANDE - Tortilla chips, cheddar & Monterey Jack cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, jalapeños. Choose seasoned ground beef, slow-roasted chicken or refried beans, or for an extra dollar, substitute fire-grilled steak or chicken fajita. I chose the chicken fajita protein topping. I ordered this for an entrée, but it would be a really good appetizer for 3 to 6 people. It's almost like cheese crisps, halved, with lots of melted cheese and a small amount of meat on each tortilla half. In the center there are toppings. I enjoyed the pickled jalapeños because they weren't extra hot. This hit my comfort food spot. I wasn't able to eat the whole thing so it was so big, but it was exactly what I was looking for. - THE GRANDE COMBINATION - Beef, chicken, cheese enchiladas, cheese chile relleno, tamale, crispy beef taco, guacamole. This combination is HUGE! Even the plate is grande. Absorbed this, and I think his eyes were larger than his stomach. He filled up on the beans and the rice, the chile relleno, and the taco. I would have loved to make this my new working lunch spot, but between the egregiously high prices and the WiFi witness protection program, I'll be skipping it next time.

I recently dined at Ta Carbon, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. The food at this taco place was undeniably delicious, with flavors that left me wanting more. However, the service I encountered was disappointing. Upon paying, I had an encounter with a younger, light-skinned, heavyset Mexican man who was unfortunately short and rude. It left a sour taste in my mouth as I felt his impoliteness was unwarranted. Moreover, my son had to wait for a refill for a whopping 10 minutes, despite patiently waiting right in front of the employee. It wasn't until I went in and reminded him to get a refill that my son was attended to. It's a shame that an employee's demeanor could mar what would otherwise be a great dining experience. With such a prime location, I hope that Ta Carbon can address these service issues to truly shine in every aspect. read more

This place is amazing! The food is delicious and is authentic Mexican style. I cant get enough of the tacos de "tripa" and I love their beans. Seriously the food is great! The only thing I don't like about this place is that most of their seating is outside, which is no good in Arizona. They have some indoor seating, but it is very limited and always super crowded. They have a ton of space outside, but its usually hot, surrounded by flies and if the weather is bad enough the dumpsters next door start to smell a bit. They really need to consider expanding their dinning space because they have the room to do so. That said I still recommend it, the food makes up for it and thats the most important part. read more
