Very authentic taco spot. The meat has amazing flavor and with the simplicity of what's made it is a go to spot. The inside isn't very big, only about 6 tables so try and avoid during lunch but there's plenty of outdoor seating. Even when it's busy the food is quick. My go to is the Plato Hazz which is a plate of Hazz (carne asada mixed with cheese and peppers), refried beans and tortillas on the side either corn or flour. It's not a big fancy restaurant but most fire Mexican food isn't! This was some of the best food I've had in a while. I got the barbacoa plate and it filled me up! It makes like 6 little Tacos. Absolutely delicious! My family from Florida was in town and I'm proud to say we showed them the good Mexican food that arizona has to offer. Best el pastor tacos in town, I'm addicted to them and wish they had a closer location. They have other great ways to enjoy tacos, quesadillas with many variations of protein. My wife had trouble asking for a veggie taco but they also have great bean burritos. No rice or soda fountain machines and you order at the counter and pay when your finished. They always hand you a styrofoam plate to grab your salsa and veggies at the salsa bar. I don't think they have chips and the place is very casual and pretty clean. You'll feel like your getting real authentic Mexican food and service here. read more

My friend recommended this place and it's seriously become one of my go to spots (and I am very picky about my Mexican food since I grew up in LA with seriously good Mexican food and haven't been totally impressed by Phoenix's Mexican food) This place however I could eat at daily! It's so good that when we showed up tonight there was a line outside the door and people were still walking in by the time we left. They don't have a huge menu but what they do is incredible. Some of the best carne asada I have ever had and the pastor tacos are also excellent. When I was pregnant I couldn't tolerate meat very well and craved their bean and cheese burritos constantly. I really wanted tacos this evening, and busted to try somewhere new. Will say these are legit! The menu is pretty well explained. I got the Plato mixto ( steak and pork) with no beans add cheese. It comes with rice, beans, and tortillas. And i got 2 tacos the pastor and the asada. The meat is flavorful. They also had a salsa bar which was nice. They give you a plate or a Togo if you ordered Togo and you can take all of what you need. They also had fresh roasted jalapeños for the taking. You pay at the end vs when you first get your food as well. I would give it 5 stars but i got all the way Home ( ordered Togo because they were packed in there) i didn't have rice or the cheese i paid extra for. Other than that I'll def eat there again. The food was good. I ordered a mixed burrito (asada and seasoned pork) with beans and cheese. The burrito was tasty but it did not have any type of vegetable in it. I had to open it and add my own cilantro and onion. This kind of sucked since now the integrity on how it's rolled. The tacos is the way to go here. They had a ton of meat. You can order the tortillas either flour or corn. Here you add your own sauces and veggies. Seating is limited inside on a hot day. Total strangers sharing table, very cool, in order to not eat in the heat. If you sit outside there is water mist to keep you fresh. read more

While attending my sons B-ball Tourney near by, we had an hour break to grab some lunch. Got on Yelp and started looking for near by restaurants. So glad we choose Ta'Carbon. It might be intimidating going through the order process but even though it seems hectic, they were extremely patient and helpful!! We then headed to the Salsa Bar where you can almost fill up with the Cucumbers, Cabbage, Onions and I think 6 different types of Salsa. After having our named called is when the tastebuds were treated to something delicious. Everything was fresh and warm. The tortillas are fresh and how I like them, a little then. The pork and beef mixtures was so good on the Mixto and I added onions and cilantro, pico, and hot sauce. Really one of the best authentic Burros I've had in a long time. They said it is open and they can't get it fixed on Yelp. I told them i'd post. I love this place. I'd hate for them to lose a location because people think it's already closed. We came around noon on a Sunday and it was super crowded but there was a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating which has heat lamps if it gets colder. The tacos are a little under $2 and the burros are about $5 with no filling, just meat which lets you fill up on the awesome salsa/veggie bar! There's a huge selection of cucumbers, onions, salsas, limes, cilantro etc and they give you a little plate to grab everything We tried the asada burros and al pastor tacos (all on flour tortillas) and jamaica agua fresca which was amazing! They also have platters which I definitely want to try next time. My one tip for newbies is understanding how paying works: you order, wait to pick up your food, eat, and then go to the front at the end to pay. Being from Southern California this is one of the closest things I can get to a taqueria out here. You know the place is jumping when you have people from all walks of life coming in. The service is whatever but I don't expect great service from a place like this. They take your order and deliver a solid product. Meat is cooked right before your eyes and the the salsa bar is all there with various salsa's, onions, cilantro, lime, cucumbers, etc. For soccer fans they have a TV with soccer playing. They have horchata and even hooked me up with a refill, which I'm sure you have to pay for usually.
