Worst service ever. Food was supposed to be ready for pick up in 20 to 40 minutes. After 45 minutes, we went inside as the status hadn't updated.. Waited at register for 5 minutes, and had to ask someone to come up and see if the order was ready. 5 minutes later, oh yeah, THAT order... yeah we haven't even started on it. 20 more minutes, and finally they motion us up. Order is wrong, wait 5 more minutes. Forgot my drink, 5 more minutes. All this while I counted 14 or more people working, if you could call it that. The manager didn't lift a finger the whole time we watched. Assistant manager wandered around, did nothing. Worst 60 bucks spent. read more

Picked this restaurant based on 4 stars on Yelp. This restaurant did not deserve 4 stars. I give it 1 star only because I cannot give it ZERO! Food was unacceptable. I enjoy the fact they are open late, but my past 3 visits the food has not been too wonderful. Taco Cabana rocks and their prices are awesome the management and staff is sweet as candy on Halloween night I often come here just because I love the music that they serenade me with during my visit if I could afford it I would probably ask them to rent their back room as my bedroom but they will probably charge too much for that because I would probably eat all their food. my wife is looking at me right now as I'm text to speech or speech to text rather and I can tell by the glare in her eyes that she would probably prefer that I stop drop and roll and when I say roll I mean a flauta. I haven't been to a Taco Cabana in quite awhile (3years). I always order the street tacos. I'm not sure when this changed but they served the tacos with yellow corn tortillas, which I love yellow corn tortillas just not on the street tacos. However I prefer the white corn. If you should come here, request the white corn (if that's an option) and if you prefer the white corn. I took my order to go so I didn't notice until after the fact. I was pleasantly surprised that salsa ranch has been added to the salsa bar, it was so so yummy. The store is immaculate. When I go to restaurants, I check the restrooms to see how clean the restrooms are; if it's clean it's a good indicator that they practice good food safety in the kitchen. If I could give this place, and no star I would first of all the cashier had no idea how to bring up items. He double charged me for two plates of tacos. Had ordered chili Reno taco, but there was no chili Renos the lady that was making the top the tortillas had recommended the Carne the beef tacos on flour tortillas lol when my order was given to us on a plate, and there was tacos on a corn tortilla I had asked them to go ahead and put it on the flower truck to have a girl yelled and said no we don't do that we don't ever do that are we had ordered three taquitos they weren't even like taquitos. She yelled at him you're supposed to always put sour cream and guacamole on these plates they're not to be sent out without them. I had asked her to remake the tacos she took forever, so then the mangled of taquitos for all cold so I asked them to remake that we went in there for a quick bite some tacos rice beans you know a nice Horchata, which all there I was were out and about 45 minutes later we barely even ate our food because the Borracho beans were dry. There was no juice just full of onion, pinto beans, full of onions are refried beans. Were you reminded me of a kind of dog food they were more like Rosarita beans I had ordered a lengua taco, and the lengua was all dark, so I didn't even eat that so $45 went down the drain didn't even eat the food people from the drive-through were coming in because they were getting their orders wrong and the lady in the back I don't know if she was a manager supervisor but she yelled at another girl in there and said go close the effing door right now in front of customers I do not recommend this place. Update 6/23/2012: Still awesome! The brisket is phenom as are the flautas. We used to live in Arizona and moved to Chicago, so every time we drive through the area, we always stop at a Taco Cabana. Of the ones I've been to in NM so far, this location is my favorite. It just has a little nicer and less fast food-ish feel to it to me. Today I got my usual fav, Carne Adovada, some tortillas (cuz they are seriously delicious and fresh made daily all throughout the day- and always get a couple dozen to go), and the hubs got a couple brisket tacos. What another yummy surprise the brisket was! Delicious flavor without being fatty and had a nice texture. Love that brisket now, too. :) I will say that all TCs are NOT made equal. I had some truly disappointing experiences in OK, but NM and Texas seem to have it down. A big thank you to John G. for guiding a weary traveler to a good location when I couldn't remember which ones were good after so many years. Yelpers rule! :) read more

Best veggie burritos ever! This is the TACO CABANA on Coors Blvd. They're careful in what they do here. I occassionally crave these burritos. The tortillas are made well. Pico de Gallo: FRESH. Tortillas, just the right amount of salt. Clean, frequently cleaned dining room and condiments and salsa bar. Frijoles: perfecto. Red salsa tastes fresh and warm, like homemade. On the menu, it says "Bean and Cheese Burrito". I ask for light cheese and lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Wrapped well in foil so it doesn't spill on my way home. I like their mango tea. No sugar. Very consistently made. I'm not a fan of their coffee, no matter which Taco Cabana. That's forgivable, eh? The chicken is cooked with vegies which gives it extra flavor. We've never found any bones. They're careful. Now they've added a vegan plant protein alternative for their fancier nachos and tacos. They want to please. - - Thank you to the managers and staff for working so hard! Hit Albequerque after midnight, not having dinner yet and checked yelp! Never had heard of this chain. Read the reviews and it sounded good enough for our tastes. I ordered the Adovada plate and my brother ordered the Super Mexican Plater. We had to wait a moment in the drive thru line, but watching the cook dancing around to music while she cooked away was quite entertaining. We busted out our goodies when we got to the room. Everything smelled really good. My brother's enchilada, taco and tostada were good, but what he really raved about was the fresh made puffy tortillas and smoky beans. I mixed my adovada, rice and beans together. Oh! What a delight. The Adovada was sooo good. Full of flavor. The only thing is, I could have used a couple more tortillas. I ordered a barbacoa burrito and asked them to drain the grease and this is what they gave me, a sloppy mess that got all over my clothes and my backpack (I ride a motorcycle and put my order in my bag for the trip to work). The burrito looked like it was dunked in grease then another cup of grease inside of it. Not only once but two days in a row! Grease just poured out when I took it out of the bag and it got all over my pants and my desk. I eat here once a week and never thought about writing a review, I do agree the drive through can move at a frustrating pace, but as long as you know that going in and have something good on your kindle it's ok. However, when I brought the order home, one order had rice that was not ordered, another order was completely wrong (ordered chicken fajitas and she received beef with none of the fajita fixings) and we received extra beef in flour tortillas. We usually go to the one up in the northeast heights, but we got some food from this location the other day and the girl taking orders was extremely rude and also I found a hair in my posole it was a short hair like from a mans head. Women taking orders and doing drive thru was very rude. When I asked if the tacos come with anything on then she replied "they're tacos" I asked for tacos plain and they weren't plan. Taco plate said the shells come either hard or soft she didn't ask me. I mentioned that I wanted soft and she said "Remind me at the window for the salsa" Snatched the debit card out of my hand and then got upset when I returned to get my order fixed. At this point I've spent about 35 minutes in this drive thru. Once I get back to my hotel after a long day no fork or spoon in the bag so I can't eat my rice and beans. Never got to eat them. I have been going here for a while now with little complications. I pulled up to the drive thru and ordered a street taco platter with rice and beans, they told me to pull forward to the window. When I approached the window, the cashier told me the wrong order; so I corrected her and told her that I got the street taco platter with rice and beans. I also asked for the military discount that I always get. So Bobby, the manager came to the window with an atittude and told me "so you dont want the chicken platter?" and I told him, no i never ordered a chicken platter. I ordered a street taco platter with rice and beans. So he left and when the cashier came back she said they couldn't give me a discount because they didn't have a manager card. I'm not big on fast food, but there is something appealing about drive thru's. I can order food from the comfort of my vehicle while in my pajamas with fairly minimal human contact. If I'm eating fast food, Taco Cabana is one of the only places I'd be willing to eat from. When I think of fast food, I often think it to be synonymous with "cheap". Not at Taco Cabana. I generally order a fajita taco with guacamole and sour cream. Pretty solid, hits the spot. I'm willing to dish out $4 for this. Not impressed by much else here and it's pricey for what you get. Like your typical fast food restaurant, your order will be wrong half the time. Order too much, expect to pull forward and wait for 10-15 minutes. read more

The only time I eat at this place is late night coming home from the bar. It's kind of a staple. Some of my favorite items are the bean and cheese burrito with green chile and the huevos rancheros. Their nachos are pretty good, too. So if you're in the mood for some processed, greasy food...TC fits the bill. The prices are pretty decent and the food is tasty. The fact that they are open all night is even better. That being said..there are way too many awesome restaurants in ABQ for me to even think about going there while sober. Let me start by saying Chipotle is probably one of my favorite simple places to go for Mexican food. I love getting my steak bowl when I go there. So when I came here I had really high expectations when my friend suggested getting their bowl. Let's just say I'd probably be a regular here if I lived in Albuquerque! lol Everything was so fresh here it was amazing! I ordered a Carne Adovada bowl. It comes in either a bowl or a crispy shell. Your choice. I added sour cream, cheese, corn, guacamole, and rice. The meat was soooo tender that it was delicious. It was literally so good that I had to force myself to keep eating even though I was so full because I didn't want to waste it. lol Chipotle will always have my heart, but this place would seriously be in trouble if I lived in Albuquerque because I would pretty much be dining there for breakfast lunch and dinner. =P read more
