This is a street taco restaurant with a cool Looking bar. Service was good. Would recommend the Chicken Tinga tacos and nachos.

This was my first time trying Taco Dia and I have to say, the flavors were amazing. I wish I took better pictures because everything was delicious. We ordered the Chipotle Honey Chicken tacos, the Pork al Pastor tacos, guacamole with chips, and churros for dessert. The Chipotle Honey Chicken tacos were out of this world -- sweet, spicy, and packed with flavor. They really bring the heat in the best way possible. Absolutely a 10/10. The Pork al Pastor tacos were equally impressive, super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The guacamole was fresh, super bright, and the chips that came with it were so good. And the churros??? Woooo.. Perfectly cooked and crispy. Major compliments to the chef!!! The staff was friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back again very soon!

Fun place with really great staff. The seating area can feel a bit tight. But there's also a larger bar area if you want to eat on that side. We tried the guacamole, a few drinks and some tacos and the churros. I would definitely come back and try other things on the menu. Definitely check it out if you want some different types of taco and fun flavors.

Taco Dia- thank you for joining the Newtown restaurant scene! We are so happy you are here in town and gracing us with your amazing food and better drinks! This town needed some fresh Mexican and you have certainly delivered on all fronts from service, decor, drinks and food- home run, slam dunk, or touchdown.... You are all of these in one! We have loved both times we have come to eat for dinner. Drinks are strong, fresh ingredients and go down way too easy. Love the strawberry margarita specialty cocktail. I don't typically order tacos when out but all of yours rocked! Fresh, the right amount of each ingredients, and so tasty. My favorite were the tuna and shrimp! We also enjoyed guacamole to start and churros for the win for dessert. We will continue to be frequent flyers here!!! Please stay for many years to come

This place gets so many mixed reviews from people I know, I just had to try it for myself. First off it was a Friday evening so I understand it'll be a lot busier than other days of the week. But it took about 10 minutes for us to even get water brought to our table. Then an additional 10 minutes for chips and salsa. Our server was nice. Our food didn't come for about 45 minutes (6 tacos). The food was gourmet looking, very beautiful, but not worth the price point based on taste in my opinion. Atmosphere was very loud. But what else can you expect from a taqueria?

Decor inside is very nice with pops of bright colors. Nice size menu. We got an appetizer under the To Share part of the menu - Esquites Street Corn Dip. While it tasted Amazing the size was not shareable. They need to move from the mini cast iron to at least a small size one. All the tacos come on a small tortilla. But all the ingredients are fresh and really great flavors. I ordered three tacos to feel just about full. Then I ordered a fourth and that was the right amount for me! Great restaurant addition to Newtown.

We love going to Taco Día. Forrest and Berto make the experience worth it each time. The pork belly tacos are better each and every time I go. The ambience is calm, fun, and energetic. I love coming and bringing new people to this amazing place. If you haven't gone, please make sure you get out! It is worth it!

Taco Dia has great potential. Excellent Mexican cuisine, decent cocktails, friendly personell and a great space, in- and outdoors. At the moment, there still seem to be some start-up issues with the service, eg table-per-server ratio seems too high with their staff being a bit overwhelmed and there was considerable variation in the two identical drinks I ordered, though I would hope they sort out these initial challenges quickly. The tacos I ordered tasted great, with the chorizo being my favorite, though the Birria was rather messy to eat with the hot sauce drizzled over it and I prefer a true, strained consommé to go along with it rather than starchy, thick gravy - but the flavors were certainly there. Highly recommend calling for a reservation as the wait time on a Friday eve was over 40min.

When my wife and I finally did, we were hooked. We have been going there now for about ten years. It truly is the best Mexican food. Tonight I had two chicken enchiladas with red Guahillo sauce, and topped with sour cream, diced green onions, and queso fresco. Wow. the flavors! It also came with rice (very flavorful) and black beans (amazing). A real fulfilling and generously filling meal for less than $15. My wife had a black bean burrito. It was huge. She loved it, but only ate half of it. For less than $10. I will have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I wonder why some reviewers were not very happy. Perhaps their point of reference is Taco Bell, or some other Americanized Mexican style food. Viva Mexicali Rose!

Today I brought my husband in based on pics of their pizza from reviews on Facebook. We ordered a large Hot Oil Pie, and Garlic Knots to eat there. Then a large cheese pizza to take home. In addition I had an iced carmel salted latte one there ,and it was so good I took one to go. On top of it the family that owns Dodingtown were just as friendly and welcoming as the first time I came into their business. Now lets start with the iced salted carmel latte so creamy, and refreshing but not too sweet. The garlic knots have sliced pieces of garlic, nice plump dough, and the sauce was to me perfect! The hot oil pie if you like HOT this is your pizza. The peppers used on this pizza are green chill peppers, and red italian long peppers. These peppers together bring the heat. My friend and I both had burgers, which were delicious -- but what were REALLY awesome were the french fries. Slim, perfectly cooked and salted -- hoo mama. Other reviewers have mentioned that the menu has more of an Asian influence -- this continues to be true, and in fact, when we return I'd like to try some of those more specifically Asian or Asian-inspired dishes. One thing I perceived, though, was that the pickles on the burger were brined in something that tasted almost seafood-y -- I'm allergic so I don't think it was actual fish sauce or something, but something that gave it a slight fishy taste, like when you have seaweed. Anyway, that was the only thing I didn't care for -- but it didn't bother me enough to not want to try again! We loved the ambience and the location was also super convenient with free parking in the back. I'll update my review after my next visit!

As we drove through the village, we saw the restaurant on our left-hand side. It was housed in a historical brick building with a sprawling deck overlooking the Pootatuk River. It was a beautifully sunny day, so I immediately suggested that we dine outside. Unfortunately for us, the part of the balcony that was covered and offering live acoustic music was completely full. That meant that we were seated on the far edge of the patio with no shield from the strong sun or any ability to hear the tunes. In addition to the unideal seating, the food took a very long time to arrive, so I just sat there roasting. The server offered to move us inside, but we stuck it out for the view. I had ordered the Fattoush Salad with Chicken. The Mediterranean bowl included mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, kalamata olives, and fried naan croutons, though I had omitted the red onion that was also supposed to be in the blend. I had asked for the red wine vinaigrette on the side and wound up not using much of it. The salad was fresh and tasty, but the chicken had an odd preparation. It was not grilled (like I would have hoped for a healthy salad topper) and not deep-fried, but was roasted or pan-fried or something, which I had not expected. It had a crispy skin, but remained reasonably tender at least. I also grabbed a few of my partner's fries, which were excellent. After we wrapped up the meal, I stopped inside to cool off and use the facilities, which consisted of a singular, unisex bathroom in the corner of the rustic dining room. There was a bit of a line, and they could certainly have benefitted from additional restrooms. I really did like the antique atmosphere at Foundry Kitchen and Tavern, but I think that the heat just made the experience a bit challenging for me. I would definitely consider returning, but would be more diligent in my seating and food selections.
