3 tacos. Al pastor/Shredded Chicken/Carne Asada. VERY GOOD!

These tacos are LEGIT!. My wife and I stopped by on a weekend to get a quick bite. We were greeted warmly and met the family behind the business, German and his mom. They mentioned their tacos are "the best" and we're gonna love them and we did! We ordered 3 tacos. 1 Al pastor, 1 shredded chicken and 1 carne asada. Food came out fast and the presentation was tremendous. The tacos were loaded, sauced up and came with some jalapenos peppers. The pictures I took hope does them justice. First bites of those tacos were freaking GOOD! The food was made fresh and tasted fresh. The peppers are very spicy if you can handle heat. Each taco was so packed with flavor it's gonna warrant a return visit in the future. The 3 tacos we chose came out to about $10 total so it's very affordable and worth the plate of food. Try Taco King out here on Azusa Ave. They deliver some of the best tacos in town. Thanks, Taco King!

Visiting from out of town. Found Taco king in Azusa while heading to a tournament. Boy was I glad we stopped by! Ordered a Asada Burrito and tacos de Lengua, Al pastor! Let me tell you that they are possibly the best I have tried! Comes with chips, jalapeño, 2 salsas and grilled onions!!! Spectacular is an understatement! We met the owner a really humble and amazing person! Wish I lived around the area! I would be here all the time! Definitely will pay them a visit even though I'm far away!!! DON'T MISS OUT AND COME VISIT THEM!!! Thank you Taco Kings!!!!

Ok, this place is growing on me. Saw a post about their hard shell beef tacos and had to try them. Stand out item for sure. Better than Pepe's IMO and closer to home! Will have to try their taquitos next time to compare, since that's my go to order there. If I had just ordered the hard shell tacos, would have been five stars for sure, but I tried their soft tacos and they were just ok. Asada, chicken and carnitas. Good, but definitely had better. They have so many items on their menu, probably hard to make everything fresh. The other issue I had was that I ordered two beef hard shell, but got one potato and one beef. Potato is not a favorite of mine in tacos. On the plus side, they add grilled onions and jalapeños on the side! German is a great guy and I know it was probably an innocent mistake, so no biggie. The spicy red sauce is perfect for the hard shell tacos. Mix it with the red salsa and you're in for a treat. Now that I have a go to item here, will definitely try to stop by more often and in person!

Randomly found on yelp while scrolling and just by the looks of the food I knew it was going to be bomb, and it was definitely amazing, great customer service, very friendly. My dad is the pickiest eater ever he only eats what my abuelitas makes and he even said he wanted to bring her here to try bc it was that good! Will definitely be coming back and recommending! It's a very cute spot on the corner only outside seating but we still enjoyed it way better than most restaurants we've been too

The owner, German (Herman) is great. His attention to detail, his customer service, his love of his restaurant is amazing. And the food is really good. He was very helpful being we never been there before. He asked questions about us, and seemed genuinely interested in knowing who we were. Made me feel like I knew him since we were kids. The food. The chips with beans and cheese were delicious. He offered to make them while we waited. I initially said no thank you but quickly changed my mind. I'd come back just for them. They were so simple yet so delicious. Their beans are super creamy. Their green salsa is made in house(as is everything) and is served warm. The tacos were really tasty. My favorites were the carnitas and the lengua. The Al pastor and asada were good as well. The tortillas were soft and fresh. The bean and cheese burrito was why I came. I saw a woman on TikTok eating it and said it was one of her favorits. She did a series on the best bean and cheese burritos. I think her review was #104 with taco king. And I agree with her. It was really good. It is top 3 for me. I'm going to try it with their enchilada sauce inside the burrito next time. German's customer service alone would bring me back here. Just to support his business. But the food being good as well? Even better lol. Give it a try. And be honest with him. If there is something you order that you don't like or think could be better, tell him. He wants to be the best. With our help and support, he's on his way to becoming just that.

I encountered the owner who handed me a life changing wet carne asada burrito. It was topped with what appeared to be a mole sauce. The meat chunks were nice and full, instead of fatty like other places. The mole flavor was an explosion of savory, Smokey, the perfect balance between sweet. I'll have to come back here. I was offered a tamarindo drink but I will have to try another time. Heard they're amazing here. Excellent customer service and a family unit. They take pride here in their legacy

Some of the best Chile quilles I've had, came with 3 eggs and a side off bean and rice. Family owned business and the mother and son duo were so friendly. Service was good and outside seating was clean. Can't wait to try their crunchy tacos next.

After seeing this spot on Hungry4munchies IG, I decided to give them a try. I will drive anywhere for a good crunchy hard taco. So I'll start with the food. The food is good. Is it the best I've ever had? No. But it's definitely good. I went for the shredded beef tacos, but was told that they only had chicken, which was a disappointment. The taco itself wasn't a disappointment. The chicken could've had a little more seasoning, but the salsa was good and it made up what was lacking. We also had asada and carnitas tacos. Both were good, the tortillas were top notch, but I'd still say the flavor was lacking a bit without the salsa. We wanted to get agua fresca, but were told that the only drink they had available was 7UP. But as we waiting for our food, we saw people getting their orders with agua frescas, so we went back and asked again. We were told they did have them, but only in available for large. She then said, we don't have large cups, you have to buy 2 mediums. We just wanted 1 medium. We asked could 1 just buy 1 medium and she said no, because there were no lids or something to that effect. That was confusing. When we picked up our order, she did end up giving us an agua fresca on the house, and that was very nice of her. It was VERY good too. Not overly sweet and very refreshing. My only other issue is that the salsa cups didn't have lids. They were wrapped in plastic wrap, which spilled once they were in the bag, and that was kind of a bummer. I would suggest if you're in a hurry to call ahead. The wait is kind of long, and that way you can find out if they have what you're looking for. I'll definitely be back to try the beef tacos at some point. I would also suggest to the owners, if you're out of a bunch of stuff, keep it updated on your IG. And maybe utilize containers for the tacos. We were on the go and eating off of the foil wasnt ideal!

During this trip, I got the "carne asada" burrito and 5 fish tacos with grilled peppers and onions on top paired with a strawberry agua frescas. I also went on wednesday where they have fish tacos for $1.99 each. The food was pretty good! I enjoyed the fish tacos. It had great seasoning, a light crisp but not soggy and ample toppings on top. Also amazing to pair with their grilled jalapenos and onions. I'd definitely recommend getting it on wednesdays for their deal. Their strawberry agua frescas was refreshing and I liked the nice addition with the mint. I liked all the nice toppings like the strawberries and lemon on top. Although, it does come at a hefty price of $11. While I understand it's made fresh, it's still a bit expensive (I'd still get it though since its getting hotter these days). I don't know if Taco King does it differently but I ordered a carne asada burrito but got something that didn't look like asada? I may be wrong but carne asada isn't shredded meat. I think I may have received a different burrito. Anyways, I still thought that the shredded beef burrito was okay. I think what it could've used was a bit more marinating liquid. So that its nice and juicy with every bite. Also would recommend adding onions and cilantro in there as well (i don't know if it's an option or not). Their salsas are also decent. The red habanero(?) salsa was definitely spicy but not the worst. Good habanero flavor though. The verde salsas were nice and paired well with the tacos. Personally I like a roasted tomatillo salsa or a roasted tomato salsa over any other salsa. I don't know the exact prices of each item since the receipt wasn't itemized and most of the menu had stickers over the prices but if I were to give a rough guess: Strawberry agua frescas - $11 "carne asada" burrito - $12 Each fish taco - $2 Credit card fee - $1 Total - $34 Overall, this local spot is ALOT better than most of the other places in the area so I would definitely come back. I would probably get the wet burrito that I had from the first time I was here since it was really good. I would try out their weekly specials to get an introduction to the food they have to offer.

WOW my fiancé and I are so happy we found this place! We've been looking for an authentic Mexican spot, this is it! The food is very delicious and flavorful, tender meats!! Agua Fresca is so refreshing & yummy! It's a family owned business and their hospitality is so wonderful too. Can't wait to try all the things!

If you're looking for a family owned Mexican food spot , really community oriented, and well known in their community their city , as well IG known lol !!!!!!!! I really recommend this place !!!!! I had in mind going to other taco spots like Tacos Gavilan etc , since there's 2 of them like a 5 miles radius apart from each other going down Azusa Ave from west covina to azusa But I scrolled through my IG , saw taco kings pop up and their publicity and their tacos and great reviews and services I had to try it for myself since I was around the area , especially since my older sister lives around that same area I tried them and they're best tacos I've had around Covina and azusa no lie !!!!! Like I said I've been to tacos gavilian since there's like 2 around the area and I've tried tacos vendors on the street But this spot hits !!!!!!!! I recommend it to anyone if you're around West Covina , Covina , azusa , Glendora area etc read more

Food (10/10) I always get the tacos, highly recommend the pastor and carne desebrada, also make sure to get an aguas frescas( I recommend pineapple) they're made with fresh fruit you can see him chop the pineapple. Best tacos I've had in a very long time. Service( 10/10) owner always greets you with respect and treats you kindly and is always friendly, he will ask you how your doing and makes you feel comfortable. -can't recommend this spot more it's a hidden gem in Azusa always try to make it over here when I'm in the area! read more

First off, the food here is phenomenal. Everything I've had from here has been nothing short of delicious. A few of my favorites are the sausage breakfast burrito add rice and beans to it and you have a mouth full of goodness. The fish tacos are delicious. Let's talk about their tripas burrito! Ummmmm A-MAAAZING. A must try and last but not least the cucumber lime agua Fresca. Next level refreshing. Pro tip 21+ crowd:order the agua Fresca and add a shot of liquor of your choice(add it at home,they don't sell liquor)and it'll transport you to a tropical paradise. I did that once and I woke up wearing a Hawaiian shirt( I don't own a Hawaiian shirt). So now let's talk about the service. I always feel like I'm coming home to eat. Herman is super helpful and super polite every time I come in. Family owned and it shows. If you're in the area and looking for good quality Mexican food. Don't hesitate, just stop by and enjoy. My wife and I were headed to the Hollywood Bowl from the Inland Empire for a date night to see John Legend perform. When headed out to L.A we usually look for a taco truck to indulge in some good street tacos. This time I suggested King Taco since I haven't had it in about 10 years. So I looked up the closest one to where we were and headed straight there. When we got there and walked up to the window German welcomed us with a a great attitude and charisma. As he was taking our order I asked which location of King Taco was the original one, and without skipping a beat German went into the history of King Taco AND Taco King, letting us know that we were at Taco King, a family owned business since 1985, where THE BEST tacos are made and served. We ordered Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos and they were the bomb! Definitely way better than the other taco place using King in their name. The true Reyes of Los Angeles County is "Taco King". To put the cherry on top of our dining experience at Taco King, German changed the music playing outside to some John Legend tunes. The regular background music was great btw. Definitely had a 1950's Ritchie Valens vibe to it. Very Art Leboe. All that to say, we will be back next time we take a trip out to the area. We found a true authentic Taco shop with a cool owner. My husband and I come here often and we definitely come from a long drive just to eat here and see our friends!!!!! my coworker mentioned this place and raved how great the fish tacos are. I haven't tried them yet but the taquitos I had were out of this world, the food was very fresh, with quality control, practically every morning i am there for my lunch (early work lunch 9am) every morning he pours me a complimentary cup of joe, I don't know it just feels like he puts that extra care in for his customers. right off the bat meeting the owner you could tell he's a kind, caring guy; just today I saw him and another owner from a different store pushing this guys car out from the middle of the road and into safety. all in all not only is the owner a really awesome guy, and he does a damn good job feeding the community, thank you for serving the community with a smile on your face. read more

This Taco King on Azusa Ave is so amazing! We got carne asada fries and a chicken quesadilla with mild salsa inside and it was so perfect and tasty. Their green salsa is the best. The service is great too. They sampled us some chips and salsa and the last time we went they sampled their in-house juices. The cashier (I think the owners son) was very hospitable. The eating area outside was nice, basic and clean. read more

I've come back and this time, our food was DE-LISH-USSSS! There was a bit of a line but we after looking at the menu, we ordered quickly and the service was fast. We waited about 10 minutes for our orders but it was worth the wait. So glad we decided to come back and give this place another try. read more

Always seen this place by the corner of my house & always wanted to try it. I finally came by today & German took my order & took care of me very good. He recommended me the quesa birria tacos as well as the agua fresca. The quesa birria were the best ones I tried around in a while. I also got asada fries and they were bomb. The sitting area is also a cool vibe to sit down & eat your food while also enjoying being outside. I highly recommend this spot & would rate it a 10/10. Definitely coming back again & again. Must eat here! We always bring Mexican food when we visit family in Azusa. First time here today. Food took a little extra time to make so expect that but definitely legit and worth the wait. The owner is awesome and took time to talk to everyone, even this short white boy from the valley. The horchata was the best I've ever had and the cucumber lemonade was totally refreshing. The 20 pack of Asada tacos were perfect. Will be going there every time from now on. Keep it up man! read more

I was craving some hard shell tacos and just happened to be driving by Taco King. I got tacos and chicken enchiladas. The food, salsas and aguas were on point! I asked for extra spicy and they met the challenge! Salsa was spicy but still with lots of dep smoky flavor! The enchiladas were stuffed perfect. Loves the enchilada sauce! The rice and beans were sooo good! I started eating right away and failed to take some pics. I will def make it a point to go here again!! read more

Don't Miss a chance to taste the BEST EVER... pineapple agua frescas with a sprig of mint and sprinkle of chia seeds. DELICIOUS! Had to come all the way across town to get my fix. Best fresh made taquitos, tacos, burritos etc and German is the most hospitable owner. Clean, tasty, fresh and a nice outside covered patio to enjoy. Plenty of free parking too. read more

Had this place for the first time the other day and my goodness was the food fantastic. This is now my new spot for quick good Mexican food. Originally I'm from Pomona so I needed to find my go to place now that I live in Azusa. Stoped on one of the rainy days we have been having so there was no line and the owner was the only one working. Very cool nice dude you can tell with his customer service he cares, told him it was my first time so he made some recommendations, I ended up getting a Pastor burrito, 2 shredded beef/ 1 shredded chicken flautas and a cheese quesadilla. Pastors was flavorful with a little kick, the shredded beef was tasty but I really loved the chicken, quesadillas was crispy and not overly greasy like how it is at other places. But the grilled onions and chilies got to remember to get like two orders because I ran out quick. Definitely coming back again and I don't usually leave reviews but this place deserves all the good reviews it has So if you read this far and are thinking about it, do yourself a favor, Stop thinking about it and go get yourself some high quality, tasty food. read more

I stopped by Taco King to get dinner to go for my backpacking trip to Little Jimmy Trail Camp. I met German (Herman) who is owner and he was very hospitable and generous. He let me sample their homemade mole sauce they served with chicken which was savory but I didn't go for that since I was backpacking. He also gave me a bowl of ice cream with fresh strawberries on top while I waited for my food which was a real treat. I went for the carne asada burrito and al pastor tacos which I rolled up inside my down sleeping bag to keep warm. By the time I arrived at campground 4 hours later my food was still warm and I had the best dinner ever backpacking! The carne asada burrito was delicious and enough to fill me up I probably didn't need the tacos. The al pastor tacos were delicious too. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area and look forward to seeing German again. read more

Amazing authentic Mexican fast food and Herman is a great owner who focuses on high quality customer service. Our family was traveling through Azusa and needed a quick bite and found Taco King on Yelp. No regrets! The boys devoured the asada fries and my wife and I loved the crispy tacos. This place is amazing! Every time I go, the staff is super friendly and always happy to help. The food is delicious every time, and there's something for everyone. Their flautas are awesome, but the real winner is the rotisserie chicken. It's the best I've ever had in the area, hands down! I used to get my chicken at Smart and Final, but I won't be going there anymore. The staff here goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience, and their customer service is the best. My dad loved the chicken, especially all the different salsas they have. I loved the way the chicken tasted with the chilis and onions mixed in. This place is a hidden gem, and I can't wait to tell everyone I know about it! They have a huge variety of food, so no matter what you're in the mood for, they'll have something for you. Best mistake I've made ! ! ! My girl and I were looking for something to eat in the area. I searched up King Taco on my maps and started the trip, not realizing that I would end up @ this gem. As soon as I pulled up into the parking lot I realized this wasn't King Taco but Taco King ! Since we were already there we decided to give it a shot and we were hooked. I started with 4 tacos 2 al pastor and 2 chorizo. My girlfriend decided to go with the Asada fries. German was very professional and attentive to our needs. He mentioned to us that he was running a little low on Asada for the fries so he recommended we try the barbacoa so we did half Asada and half barbacoa. The barbacoa was so flavorful and tender and the Asada was cooked to perfection. My tacos were amazing I ended up ordering 3 more. We really enjoyed eating in the patio area it definitely has a Mexican ambiance and vibe as they were playing some of my favorite songs. I can't wait to take a trip back and to try some of their other meats. I've never tried their food until yesterday and I'm glad I did :) I needed 150 tacos for a party. I was a bit nervous because I've never tried their food but guess what?! There were at least 15 dishes out (excluding the tacos) and the tacos were gone right away! Each one of the at 40 guests talked about how great the tacos were! It was definitely the star of the party :) I bought ready made tacos instead of having the tortilla on the side and everything was neatly prepared. It was great! Icing on the cake - Customer service was great! Herman (despite being super busy) took his time explaining the prices and packages they had and was very patient in answering all my questions. Shout out to his staff as well because everyone was very nice, professional and smiling :) I've always believe that results always show how much you value and love your work. There was no question that each of taco king's staff value and love their work because the food and the customer service was no doubt excellent :) will definitely order from them again! I also know that occasionally in the bar they overcharge for cocktails thinking customers will not notice because they've been drinking and bartenders refuse to adjust the check. I am told Wednesday to Sunday 6pm to 12am only, so arrive a bit early get in line!!! The meat choice and options are ALL good!! I absolutely loved the Costillas de cerdo (pork ribs) plate, it was enough for two people, but made for great leftovers for breakfast the next day shredded with some eggs!! The food is really good and the short ribs are amazing. You can get a bunch of them or just ask for 2 or 3. They are really tender and tasty. I really love the staff and how they cater to the line. One of the staff who was chopping up some meat said, "would you like a try?" My top choices are the short ribs and suadero which you can request to be crispy. I prefer it to be tender. It reminded me of carnitas. Please be courteous to the neighbors as it is in a cul-de-sac off of Barranca and Grand. Try to keep the line off the sidewalk as well so others can have a walkway. You can take your food to go or they do have some tables for seating.

Taco King Azusa is a one-of-a-kind establishment that is ran by a young man named German, he has a heart of gold and has nothing but love and respect for the city of Azusa and the community. The food is absolutely delicious!! Great prices, many options, delicious agua frescas and the famous horchata shake!! What sets this restaurant apart from other Mexican restaurants is the fact that German goes above and beyond to take care of his community members, he started a pre paid type of program where customers can purchase a taco or burrito or chicken dinner and he will then allow customers to come and receive these free items if they are in need no questions asked, he's also offered to help individuals in need via his social media pages. Stopped by this restaurant around 5:00 PM, well before their posted closing time of 7:00 PM, but the cashier told us only tacos were available because they were "closing soon." That was already disappointing, but the food didn't make up for it. The rice was gross and mushy, definitely not fresh. The crunchy tacos barely had any meat in them. For what we got, the total came to $35...way too high for the quality. Prices for food items were NOT listed on their menu and a receipt was not given. I can go on and on My Boi makes it a point to chat it up with every customer and remembers in detail your conversations all while making sure orders get out in a timely manner. He and his mother make the best food. I can only compare the experience of going to grandmas house and her making whatever your little tummy desires. A taste that brings comfort and memories. What can I say? How about the fact that by far ,hands down the Best Mexican fast food in Azusa. The best freshest Ingredients makr the best meals. These guys don't disappoint. The Shrimp Tacos are absolutely delicious. Battered to a perfect Crunchy outer layer and crispiness. Oh by the way German makes you feel like a Rock Star with his Superb Customer service skills. This location by far is my favorite. The only downside to this establishment is that they close at 8. This food needs to be enjoyed after bedtime. Highly recommend this place. I've been coming to this restaurant since I was very young, though I don't remember those early visits. Recently, I've had the chance to return a few times, and I've been consistently impressed.
