Chori Chicken
Katie B.

Placed a pick-up order on a Monday evening, and it was ready super fast: 5-7 minutes max. We ordered Chori-chicken, burrito supreme with shredded chicken, and a side of queso. They have really good salsa and queso. It was pretty quiet and slow because it was Memorial Day. The portion sizes were big. My husband almost always finishes his meal but saved half for another meal, same with me. We have also catered a taco bar from here a few times and we always have way more than enough! Worth stopping in for some decent Mexican food.

Al Pastor Tacos!! The best in Jax

The best Mexican food in Jacksonville and great service. They recently added bar seating with a couple TV's and it's perfect for a quick lunch or to have a few beers while enjoying some tacos.

We came here last Friday night at 7pm without a reservation and we were seated immediately! Five stars for that alone. Additionally, our server Gervin was very attentive and did a great job. As for the food, the guacamole was solid and I enjoyed my burrito. My friends enjoyed their entrees as well. Only downside was they didn't bring out a lot of chips initially, but after we ate the first bucket they were glad to bring out more. This overall was a good experience and I would come back here again.

Quest fundido... dangerously good

We found this place down in St Augustine by accident and loved it! It's larger than this Beach Blvd location. This location is smaller and seems like they do a lot of take out. But don't pass it by. The food is great and reasonably priced. Margaritas were great. The drink offerings are different in each location... but the food is the same and same quality. New favorite spot!!

This was such a cute little place on my way in to the beach. The staff was amazing, food was delicious and the margarita was on point. I will be stopping again on my way out.

I always forget to check in and add photos as we mainly do takeout here, but it is pretty darn good. I have recently started getting the taco salad modified to be vegetarian and it is great! Their corn is also really good. I add a little to my veggie taco salad and it's delicious! Hubby and sons love the chimichanga and tacos. They are very quick with orders and very accommodating to special requests. Check them out.

First visit and it will not be my last! Great tasting authentic Mexican food! The food was freshly made to order. It felt as I was visiting at a friend's house. Cozy and very artistic vibes. Staff was top notch with service. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is because the fountain drinks fell short on taste. Also, the flautas plate was a little on the dry side without having a cheese sauce to go with it.

The 30% off code - LOVETACOS - is good on the entire menu on Taco Tuesdays. The deal & code are advertised on a window poster you'll notice as you walk up in addition to another poster advertising a great lunch deal available. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos (corn tortillas, lettuce, breaded fried shrimp, chipotle mayo, and cilantro) minus pico & they were great. The shrimp were freshly fried and steaming hot. I had to wait a bit because a large catering order was being finished as I arrived. The manager offered me a free Jarritos and apologized profusely for my wait. I took it as a good sign that their tacos are that popular plus it gave me time to enjoy the gorgeous murals by ARTBYJAE. I visited the Baymeadows location (open until 3am Fri/Sat & 1am Sun-Th) & they now have a second location on Parental Home Rd (open until 1am Fri/Sat & 11pm Sun-Th).

The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back. If these small complaints don't bother you the food is very good.

First off we ordered steak burritos- paid extra... the meat was literally STEW meat- not steak! It was so disgusting. Secondly, the ground beef tacos tasted good until you realized how crusty the meat was- as if it had been sitting ALL DAY in a bin! And lastly the nachos were exactly the same crusty old chicken meat!! We ordered pretty much every meat there and all was DISGUSTING and we had to throw out because meat sitting around all day can't be healthy! My recommendation is to NOT come here for the food!

Oh yea...I knew this was going to be a great meal and I was going to be rolling out of there stuffed. I pretty much wanted to order everything. The food is fantastic. Like so many other Yelpers, I had to have the birria taco special. It was on the Special's board and I'm always curious about what any restaurant is offering on that particular day if it's recommended in writing. Guess what? I was not disappointed. It really had so much flavor and I would order that one again next time. And don't you skip their elote. It's also legit! Who doesn't love corn on the cob on a stick covered with yummy sauce and Mexican cheese? NOTE: Birria \ bir-ē-ä \is a Mexican dish from the state of Jalisco. The dish is a meat stew or soup traditionally made from goat meat, but occasionally made from beef, lamb, mutton or chicken. The meat is marinated in an adobo made of vinegar, dried chiles, garlic, and herbs and spices before being cooked in a broth. Make sure to get the horchata because it's always nice to have a sweet Mexican horchata with a savory, flavorful meal from La Perla. Buy the other desserts to-go!

Why spend a lot of money eating at an establishment that doesn't enhance the experience? The food also was flavorful and the passion fruit margaritas was superb. I love margaritas but hate it when it's made with a pre-made mix. (It should be a crime.) Barteco uses high quality tequila and freshly squeezed juice that way a margarita should be made. For the food, I got 3 tacos (ahi-tuna, prime beef, sesame ribeye), my wife got the ahi-tuna rice entree, and for our two daughters they shared the quesadillas from the kids menu. Our favorite was definitely the ahi-tuna. One warning is that the portions are quite small, but they do tell you on the menu! However, the prices are reasonable for such quality and tasty food! The kids entree was also sub $10 which is rare to find AND it actually was a decent sized portion and had left overs. On top of that the hostess and server were friendly and knowledgeable. We're already planning on coming back already with some friends. The margarita in the carafe is calling us. What else can you ask for?

You can tell they put a lot of effort into the quality of the ingredients. My favorite item was easily the pork belly taco. It was packed with flavor and was the standout of the entire meal. I also had the chicken verde taco, carne asada taco, and pork tamale. The pork tamale was excellent--tender, flavorful, and comforting. The chicken verde and carne asada tacos were good, but neither was particularly memorable compared to the pork belly. The cucumber salad was probably my biggest disappointment. It looked fresh, but it had little to no seasoning and lacked flavor. Service was okay. It took quite a while to get my second Diet Coke, which was a little frustrating. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would come back, but when I think of Mexican food, this isn't really what comes to mind. The food felt more Americanized and inspired by Mexican flavors rather than authentic Mexican cuisine. That's not necessarily a bad thing--it just wasn't what I was expecting. If you're looking for fresh ingredients, great vibes, and creative tacos, bartaco is worth a visit. If you're looking for a more traditional Mexican experience, this probably isn't the place I'd recommend.
