It just seems like sports bars have a shelf life. This one has reached it They have a million beers on tap sure, but in the rare occasion you want one of the one-offs you might not get it because it's out. If you want a normal one, you're going to pay 50% more for it than at other places. Sure they have a ton of TVs, but half the tables still seem to be sitting directly under a good one so you need neck surgery after you leave, or there are so many people around it blocks the view. This place is either booked solid and hard to get a seat or empty. Don't show up earlier than the rest of your party, they wont seat you until the rest of your party has arrived. No matter what you say, how much you are nice, or mean, or whatever. It's a rule. You can't get them to break it. Deal with it. The food is so inconsistent. Sometimes it's cold. Sometimes it's not done enough, sometimes it's overdone. The service matches. Do I come here? Yes. Do I usually argue with my buddies that suggest it? Yes. read more

Got the Irish Porter Cheese Plate with wheat bread and rie that comes with a horse radish spread, it's freaking great if you are a cheese eater. Came here with my partner after work today starving to find a server that didn't know the beer menu and dismissed it by saying "I don't drink". I proceeded to ask for a skinny margarita and she asked me if it was in a tall glass. I'm so hungry and ready for service that I just ask her to give. E whatever my partner ordered. This is one of the newer Taco Mac locations. I haven't been in this area in a while since they were under construction. I'll tell you, not only the Taco Mac but the whole complex itself is VERY NICE. I think I may become a regular because not only of the Taco Mac but of the other dining spots in the area. Ok, lets get down to business. I try to be unbiased to reviews (unless we talking seafood especially). I love sports bars. But ever since I moved to Atlanta a few years back, I fell in love with Taco Mac. I think the best Taco Mac location in Atlanta is in Lindbergh but the one in Sandy Springs on Roswell Road off 285 is probably the best yet! I have to see this place during football season. I love the energy and setup in Lindbergh but the Roswell Road location is fantastic Setup - It's just like any other Taco Mac but this takes it to a whole new level. Me and a friend watched the first round of the NCAAs (god knows how Ohio beat Georgetown and ruined 98% of all peopple's brackets) but we had to be watching from at least a 62'' flats screen tv in OUR BOOTH. Every booth had their own personal flat screen tv! That's hot - Paris Hilton Food - Same good ol Taco Mac food. I switched it up. Took the waiter's advice - had the southwestern wrap- -Marvellous! Simply Marvelous!!! Service - Waiters in there are pretty good in any Taco Mac location, on their p'z and q'z Parking - Free!!!!! (Lindbergh, downtown, you have to pay the couple bucks in the garage) Atmosphere - well perhaps due to the ncaa tournament, it was pretty packed, diversed, not too rowdy, it was just perfect. I have to see during other seasons like football but i'm sure this place isn't a disappoinment. Location - right off Roswell Road, 285, not in the heart of the city but very accessible if you live along 285, perimeter, Cumberland. Very good halfway point if you have a friend living per se Alpharetta, Cumberland, Perimeter. Not too deep down Roswell Road when you can get harassed by Sandy Springs Cops (oh yes!! they are heavy on Roswell Road) Overall Grade: A- (just because I hate to wait 25-30 minutes to sit in any place, let alone sports bar) This might be better than my fave location in Lindbergh but I will have to see during NFL season. read more

It was one of those days where I couldn't stop craving wings!! My boyfriend has been great about taking me to places I've never tried since I'm still relatively new to Atlanta (and very supportive of my Yelp life. haha). We ordered their Grilled Vegetable and Cilantro Black Bean Quesadilla ($7.95), Nachos All The Way ($9.95), and 20 pieces of their wings ($19.75) in their Three Mile Island Sauce. I didn't really enjoy the Quesadilla very much because all the grilled vegetables made it runny and there wasn't enough cheese!! The Nachos was simply mediocre. I ordered the wings extra crispy which might explain why it took such a long time to come out. I was a bit disappointed when the wings arrived to the table because 1. I ordered it as all flats, but it came out as a mix of drumsticks and flats. 2. Wings were tough and dry 3. Wings were not tossed in enough sauce to give it enough flavor. The three mile sauce is listed as #3 on the spice level. I can't say it is spicy, but the flavor of the sauce is actually pretty decent. I just wish I had more of it. read more

You know, I just . . . say no. There are just better sports bars aplenty, around these parts. Dantanna's. Hudson (both). I could go on; instead, I'll say why I'm not a big fan of this bright and shiny new Taco Mac: 1 Big, busy shopping center where (especially/mainly on weekends and then secondarily on happy hours) the TM customers are out fun-ing and imbibing and the local mini-van moms are going to that equally bright and shiny new Target and/or other spots in the complex . . . add in lots o' stop signs . . .recipe for plenty of potential, um, problems. 2 Nice enough staff, it seems, but I can't imagine how you really get to be a regular who can feel like during a crowded game day (like the Jets game yesterday) you'd be able to get any bartender's attention and get quick service. Not a plus in my book. Just too - cavernous, spread out of a space and bar for that kind of attention. 3 "Meh" food. I'd take clients there for lunch on a weekday but I'd never say "Gosh, I really want the _____ from Taco Mac. Wanna go?!" to a friend or boy. I gave this place 4 stars because the wings were really good. Now the wings would have been on my top 3 but they weren't hot (the temperature) when they arrived at our table, they were barely warm. We ordered chips and taco mac queso as an appetizer, thinking we could snack on that while we waited for the food. But that was pointless because the appetizer and our main course arrived at the same time, figures why my wings were barely warm. But the queso was the best in town, queso got a 10 out of 10 for sure. We went to the one on Roswell Rd, on a Friday night around 11pm and the place was pretty dead. Which was kind of disappointing. Sadly I am currently having a bad experience at this location. Something as simple as adding shrimp to a salad is a problem for this location. When I have done it multiple times at multiple locations. This bartender literally just told me that Taco Mac looses money by up charging. So I am now forced to buy a full salad and PAY MORE money just so they can make an extra $3. This is very sad and I will no longer be frequenting this location. read more

This is probably the best chain restaurant to watch a sporting event as well as the best Taco Mac location of ALL Tacos Macs I've been to in Atlanta! They have huge TVs everywhere and the food is actually pretty good! You can also ask to change the TV station onto a particular TV in the restaurant if you'd like. This particular location has a really nice outdoor patio area with heaters! It's very spacious and great for large groups and families! Also there's a secret bar downstairs called The Fred...AMAZING! This is the place to go for a good beer because they have plenty! I've had the Chicken Fajitas and Carne Asada Burrito a number of times and loved them. The serving size is plentiful and the food is hot and tasty! The servers are very nice and wait isn't abnormally long. There's also free parking outside in the shopping center or outside garage area. They have a full bar as well! Definitely check this location out! read more

This Taco Mac is located in the Prado Shopping Center in Sandy Springs. It has the typical selection of beers and plenty of televisions. It has the typical Taco Mac lay out and set-up. The food is similar compared to other Taco Mac locations...not good, not bad. The service was SLOW!!!!! We waited for a pretty lengthy time in between the time we ordered a beer and were able to order our food. Not to say that our server was not friendly. She was absolutely delightful, just very slow. My fiance is a Brewniveristy member (yeah, I know!), and had a difficult time pulling up his card number. Came in today and sat at the bar. The bartender,KEVA, immediately had attitude and honestly was more focused on flirting with the male customers than providing good service. Asked for the check and immediately provided my card, but she walked away. And when she came back, instead of ringing me up, she printed receipts for the men next to us and rang them up and continued to talk to them... while my card sat in front of me. Taco Mac is good for two things: a ridiculous beer selection and watching sports. Since I really enjoy both of these things, and so does my friend, we ended up at this location for MLB Opening Day. The beer selection really can be overwhelming, especially if you are indecisive or don't know that much about beer. The beer menu is organized by style, so you need to know your IPAs from your ambers (which you do, right?). They have two walls of draft beer and two large fridges stocked with bottles. There is also a full bar, if you prefer a mixed drink or a shot. Taco Mac offers a menu full of bar food. I liked both the queso and the salsa, which tasted fresh and had a hint of smoky heat. I also appreciated that it came with flour tortillas in addition to chips. For lunch, I ordered the turkey swiss panini. It was okay. Despite the cheese and mustard, it was still on the dry side. The fries were of the shoestring, skin-on variety and pretty standard. I probably wouldn't order it again. The bartender was really nice but wasn't always the fastest with service. There were a few lapses, and since it was Thursday afternoon, it wasn't terribly busy. He even forgot to bring a take-out container, but we got one from someone else. It also took a little while to turn our TV to the Sox-Tigers game (which I MUST tell you was on for my friend and NOT me; go Yanks!). I also tried to order an Allagash White, because it was on the menu and in the case. The bartender explained that they didn't yet have it in their system so it would be $2 more because they had to ring it as the Allagash Dubbel. Since that's one of my favorite lighter beers, I wanted it, and I didn't feel like perusing the insane beer list again, I paid it. But I thought it was BS. If it wasn't in the system, I felt it either should not have been in the case/on the list, or there should have been another way to charge the regular price. What did I, what did I, what did I do to deserve this? I've been going to Tmac for over 25 years and I've been to this one many times. I rarely review them because it's like reviewing an Olive Garden--we all know what we're getting ourselves into. But tonight deserves a place in the annals because the service was one of the worst. First of all, it took maybe 10 minutes to get a water and a cherry Coke. Our server did apologize and said she had to change out a cartridge (?). I'm wondering why someone else isn't responsible for that. When she then took our order, she decided to memorize it. Bad decision. Another 10+ minutes later (which is not terrible for crispy wings), a runner brought out our order which *gasp* was wrong. And I'm saying I ordered half mild, half lemon pepper. Nothing complicated. When our server brought out the right order another 10 minutes later, there were no apologies. So, she drops off the wings, says they're hot and that's it. Walks away. No "you need anything else?" Additionally, there was no ketchup on our table. No wipes for post-wing cleaning. No paper basket to stack bones. No extra napkins. I mean, comon, my beer was almost empty! If you ask me for another it's easy money. After another 10 minutes of our server being MIA, I asked her for the manager when she finally came back around. I am not exaggerating but I personally have called the manager probably 3 times in my dining career. I generally like to avoid conflict but after a long day, I was out of patience. The manager came by and was less than helpful. In past dining experiences, when someone complains about stuff and asks for the manager, usually he/she would address the problems personally, make things right, and ask if anything else can be done. Sometimes they even offer to comp something not that I care because I just want better service. After hearing my complaints, Ryan nods his head and says he will talk to the server. Still no ketchup, no baskets, empty beer, no extra napkins, no wipes. Even worse our server didn't even address these issues. Am I asking too much? The place was not busy for a Tmac. The service had no excuses. I feel bad because the last time we were there we had great service but that was the exception. Unfortunately that server will suffer because of the ineptitude of her colleagues. Don't get me wrong, everyone was cordial. Nobody was particularly rude. And the wings were still good. That's the only thing that saved this review from a 1 star. I might have to visit my pals back at the Lindbergh spot. Whoever owns this location could be making a killing if the staff could get their act together. I may be done with this place. There's one not far away at Perimeter and of course many other locations where you will have a better experience. Go there instead or head downstairs to the Chapter Room (if you don't have a kid with you). read more

Kate at the Taco MAC at Prado in Sandy Springs is literally the only reason I even go to Taco MAC anymore. She's so personable. She always has a smile! Let me start off by saying that the ranch dip saved the entire meal and if I could only rate the dip, the rating would've been a perfect 5 stars. The mozzarella sticks were salty... the fries were cold and the wings were mediocre, at best. Our service was bearable. Then, after I wait another 5 minutes for my beer I'm told they don't have the type I ordered! I'm completely flabbergasted about the casual nature of poor service here. The place is barely crowded with more than enough staff. The bar had an entire corner that still had former patrons food and drinks sitting there. ( cleaned up part of it after 40 minutes of my arrival, but still left the dirty mess next to two guys who arrived; meaning 1/3 of the bar was not open for seating, unless you wanted to sit with someone else's left food and drink). No apologies for the slow service or mistakes; but a certain push to get my order and get me out; it's only 9:30pm, so not like it's closing time. Stay VERY far away! We got seated got our drinks and we asked for a simple order of drinks 3 sprites & a pink lemonade she brought back 4 sprites. Took over 10 minutes for a server to come to the table. The place wasn't very busy whatsoever. Drinks took over 20 minutes. I ended up going to the bar to get my wine bc I couldn't wait anymore. The gentleman in the couple I was with walked up to get his and his girlfriend's beer from the server because they could see it on her tray. There was no sense of urgency from anyone that worked there. Every request after that took a minimum of 10 minutes, including ketchup. They had managers walking around. They weren't doing anything productive. They just kept assuring us the rest of the stuff we ordered wouldn't be delayed..? I got food to go. I closed out. The people I was with asked for a Togo box they never got. My Buffalo chicken wrap was cold and soggy with way too much ranch. It was falling apart. The box wasn't even closed. Being in a fall mood I decided to sit out on the patio which was alive with many business folk. I sat down and started to watch ESPN on my phone until my server came. In walked Daniel, what a guy. He really made my visit. Friendly, knowledgeable and he was not a pest, he checked on me enough to where I felt taken care of but not bothered. He know plenty about the monthly beer specials and talked me into joining the brewnivsersity. I didn't know which of the monthly beer specials to get so I selected two and he brought out some samples. With my monthly beer selection I got a free beer glass to take home. What more is there to say? I throughly enjoined the Reformation Haddy (Belgian pale ale) selection which paired very well with my burger. It was the perfect balance with my bacon cheddar ranch burger. I must say I was surprised at how much flavor the burger had. Not dry at all and really moist. I've been to plenty of taco macs but this visit made me feel like it needed to be shared. Daniel was great, not one complaint. A deliciously filling burger, fries, pickle, two draft brews and a complimentary beer glass all for $24.77. I must say this was a win. I came around the lunch hour and it was busy but not noisy and the staff made sure no one was left unattended nor had any long waits.
