This is probably one of the more authentic Mexican restaurants I have been to since I've been in Austin. They have a variety of menu items and an awesome salsa bar. The salsa bar is originally what drew me in, because I don't think I have really encountered any restaurants with salsa bars since I moved to Austin nearly 5 years ago. Not only does the salsa bar contain a variety of red and green salsas, but it also has toppings for tacos such as jalapenos, radish, and cucumbers. They have a variety of meat tacos and sopes at a reasonable price. They also have "platos" of flautas and chili rellenos that come with beans and rice, and menudo or pozole for those weekend hangovers. The only thing I had a problem with is that all of their drinking and salsa cups are Styrofoam, which seems like a big waste to me. Next to the salsa bar is a huge stack of them, so I imagine they go through them relatively quickly. The seating can be pretty tricky inside, because the tables are close together and it is usually packed when I go, but they also offer outside seating as well. I'm not sure about other locations, but the employees speak predominantly Spanish. Once while I was there I did hear a man ordering in very broken Spanish, but the woman was able to understand. I believe many of them do speak English to some extent. If you're in the mood for some good tacos I would definitely make a stop at one of their locations! read more

This is authentic Mexican like no other. They have also upgraded the place over last few years, especially the patio. Food and salsa bar have always been stellar, don't expect Tex-Mex if you go here though. The patio is a nice place to eat but I also take food to-go often since I live so close. read more

Very good tacos! The salsa bar has 5 different salsas, jalapeños, onions, limes, etc. Tacos are slightly bigger than your standard street taco, so don't over order. Plenty of seating, friendly staff. read more

I got a big bowl of guacamole for only 3 dollars. Lamb taco for 2 dollars. Breakfast taco for 1.50. What more could you want? There were other types of food at the resturant, but it was in spanish and I couldn't understand what it was. Their food was sooo good. Guacamole was just perfect. It had chunks of avocado and also had parts that were mushed up. There are resturants where they serve a tiny bowl of guacamole for 8-10 dollars, rip off now that I've been to an authentic place. Other resturants seve their guacamole in either too small of a quantity, too salty, to much lime/lemon juice, or its just complete mush. I will never be able to eat tacos anywhere else. read more

We are not from the Austin area, so my son looked for restaurants near our location. We decided on this place due to the high reviews. Their caldo de res is absolutely horrible. I had to eat one of my husband's taco el pastor, which was okay. Their rice was good and their beans were mixed with some kind of sausage. They hardly had any "beans" in it. Very good menudo, if a bit pricey for menudo. Disappointed/surprised it did not have hominy, but that is not a deal breaker, it was very good. I got the breakfast again there this morning. Seriously, you can't beat the food for the price. Breakfast tacos are only $1 and they're awesome. The corn tortillas are great. All the standard breakfast tacos are good. The chorizo is some of the best I've had in years. The tacos with Nopales (found out it means cactus) are great if your a vege lover. First off, Taco is a food and MORE is someones last name in spanish therefore it was called TACO MORE. The place is great. Everything is good. So if you are looking for food served fast this is the place. Only cons are no alcohol and not open late. Besides that perfect for a adventure. read more

WOW! The food here is fantastic! And cheap! The atmosphere isn't five star but clearly isn't intended to be. It is sufficient to be comfortable with inside A/C seating and outside tables. The staff are constantly coming through to sweep and keep things clean. Our waiter was very helpful in navigating the menu for our first visit and made some suggestions based on what we asked about that turned out great! I had the goat taco plate which was enough to make 5 tacos plus rice and beans for $6.50. It was excellent. The salsa bar is well stocked with yummy salsas, veggies and roasted jalapenos. The only downside was that the food was so good we ate too much! The staff was very attentive and brought us whatever we needed immediately. The only thing that we missed was that they don't serve alcohol. A margarita would have been tasty with the food. We asked them about it and they said that they wanted to keep it a family friendly restaurant so maybe that's for the better anyway. As far as taco spots are concerned, this one has to be the best this side of ladybird lake. Everyone I know LOVES this place myself included and anyone that lives in the area is sure to be a regular. I've tried almost everything on their menu over the 8 years I've been going and and I've never been disappointed but I always go for the bistec and pastor tacos, they never get old. Both varieties of their red and green salsa kick ass and if its ever too hot, an horchata will do you good. Point is theres a good reason why theyve expanded from a little room with only 6 tables to a staple in North Austin. read more

I went here with my Boyfriend and let me tell y'all this place treated us like third class citizens! Very disappointed in how customer service was and the food as well. When we first sat down we looked at our menus and already decided what we wanted to get. I swear, waited for about a good 20 for the stupid slow waitress to come and serve us. Didn't once come to check on us if we were ready I had to call her slow dumb ass over. Still maintaining my cool asked her why she didn't come to get our order and gave me attitude and was very rude! Food comes out cold the cup around it looked dirty we were not going to eat there at all after the poor customer service and nasty cold food and dirty cups. Asked for the manger and gives us this look in disgust and said that that is how the food was made and there is nothing can be done about it. My man was not about to pay for this meal since it was first cold and not cooked right, secondly horrible customer service and felt mistreated there, especially by the manager! I wanted to cry. We had to pay for the food either way even though we didn't touch it. Gave us attitude and rude remarks the whole way through out our stay here!
