I've been looking at this place for a while and decided today was the day. I did "Curbside " and it was done timely and right! The prices were reasonable and the food was FANTASTIC! I ordered the beef fajita tacos and street corn and loved every bite. This will be my go-to for great Mexicano flavors in a convenient location...the same pocket in Frisco/McKinney near First Watch and The Chop Shop off Custer & Eldorado. One unexpected/pleasant surprise was the email from ChowNow that explains the profits of the restaurant and information on the current industry. Interesting. I highly recommend this cocina for anyone like myself who is a California transfer looking for food more like what we could get in San Diego or right across the California border. read more

I like the vegetarian options and food is ok. The reason I gave one star is because I gave this place 3 opportunities and the service is terrible. The first time we were there we waited 15 minutes before someone greeted us. There was one waiter who even looked at us several times and continued to talk in a group with the other waiters. The second time we showed up to give them a second chance. It was once again slow like the last time and we were about to leave then the owner showed up. we informed him about what was happening and the last incident and he took care of us. Today I went with my daughter, we waited for a long time, while all of the waiters stood and talked. The waiters made eye contact with us multiple times and still continued to ignore us. I eventually just walked up to them and asked to order. There was no supervisor and they were very careless. While we were eating they continued to talk and no service was provided. ( more chips, water, check etc. ) So 3 strikes we are done. Won't go backs ever again. I would not recommend going there for such awful service. read more

The tacos were great, and I was upset I didn't order another one BUT the street corn had mayo/crema(I couldn't tell) that was SOUR and expired. I visited this location again after eating there with family. I ordered the taco plate and asked if I could replace the rice and beans with a dollop of guacamole. It was refused by the owner stating the cost differential was higher due the price of the guacamole. Therefore I paid $13.99 for two tacos. We all know that Mexican food is the cheapest to supply. Wouldn't it had been nice if they could have made the substitution. They made enough on my order to pay for the guacamole and thus could have had me as a returning customer. Wow been open one full day and what a disappointment!! First when you walk in you see that the place is dirty and they have only been open one day. No one greets you and you also notice you have a waiter/waitress no place to order your food yourself. It was us and one other couple and our waitress was not good and mean. So on the menu the kid food says it comes with a drink. My waitress let me know she would not honor the menu and I will need to buy my kid a drink if needed. She said the menu must be wrong.... how your place just opened and you will not honor your menu???? She was awful at getting refills- just let me get my own! Why is there a waitress there??? Food is expensive. Chips and and salsa are not Free but come with your meal only if order the entree other wise they are almost 4 bucks and the salsa was not great and was in a small bowl. My son loved his veggie tacos but I did not care for the steak fajita or the shrimp taco. Also my waitress told me they had Diet Coke several times but they have some speciality sodas and not coke products. She lied to my face about it.. I changed my drink to a tea and it was ok BUT.... when we left I asked for a to go tea and I was charged for Two teas. We asked her to remove it and she said all drinks in a to-go cup are an extra fee. I said at the very least you could have let us know and she said I thought you would have known. I said you just opened, how would we have known and she was just done with us. The man who looked liked a manager never came over and never said anything to us and also at this time we are only ones with in the restaurant and we were there almost an hour to get served two tacos each. I really wanted to like this place but several things fell short and is why I gave it two stars. Keep in mind the McKinney location is new but the problem is it really showed. Here were the major issues for me. 1) Very slow kitchen (approx 30-40 minutes from order to served) 2) Luke warm (at best) to cold food served 3) Price to value (it is on the higher end) 4) Very awkward service (not a big deal the waitresses were new and I could deal with that) I weight 1 and 2 as unacceptable don't care if you're a new place or not, to me that is the life blood of a restaurant and if you don't have that down before you open you shouldn't open. The just opened blues have hit this place hard in my opinion, making me want to call this place Taco Oucho versus Taco Ocho. I haven't written this place off yet, but it will be a while before I go back. There isn't a shortage of taco joints in this town and I will continue to frequent those haunts before I make my way around to Taco Ocho again, but I will definitely give it another try. read more

Their tacos are amazing and their brunch is even better. Their food has so much flavor and isn't like what you normally get. I've had the vegan tacos too which will make you want to go full vegan! Could not believe the service we got here. Waited 20 minutes to even see a server. Had to ask the hostess if she knew who our waiter was (she didn't) and found the nearest waiter to attend to us - not sure if we were his section or not. We went ahead and ordered everything so we didn't have to wait much longer. Drinks came quick, but the "world famous queso" literally came with a film on it. That not only means it was old in the container they scoop it out of, but the tiny bowl they serve it to you in as well. And nothing world famous about it - $8 for a tiny bowl. The chips were so chewy for some reason?! Or stale? I'm not really sure. We had to pick through and find ones we could actually eat. We even joked our jaws were sore from chewing the chips after. Waited another hour for our food. All the servers were standing around kitchen, but didn't seem to be doing anything. We looked around and didn't seem like anyone had actually gotten their main courses yet either, people who had been there before us! Asked for a refund. Nothing worth $50 here for 2 people: 2 drinks (sodas), queso, and 2 taco plates. Only thing that seemed cool was the atmosphere on the patio. I was fooled by the previous good reviews. read more

Wow, very impressed! I've been twice...first time we were served by Daniel I think, then today it was Keelan. Both were very attentive, and made menu suggestions that will keep bringing me back. Small details were apparent, like offering drinks for the road. I loved the food! It was very fresh, the steak in the fajita tacos was tender yet slightly crisp on the outside from grilling...something so few places get right. The coco chicken was fantastic and something I've never really tasted before...I'm so glad I tried something new. Portions are generous. It is well worth a visit.
