It's hard to go wrong with this taco joint. The prices are very reasonable, $5 burritos, $1 tacos, staff is friendly and very helpful, and above all else the food was great. No nonsense, authentic Mexican taqueria. Don't go there if you want a white tablecloth, 5-star experience. However, if you a looking for some of the best tacos in Atlanta, you need to check this place out. The tacos are very small, but they are only $1 each. I travel quite a bit and these are the closest I have found to the tacos you can get in the streets of Mexico and Southern California. Taco T is the best taco place in Smyrna/Atlanta/Georgia/THE WORLD. Everything is super fresh and the tacos are only $1. The steak, chicken and chorizo tacos are my favorite. The Hard shells are fried up fresh as well. I get 6 tacos everytime and am completely stuffed, but still have the desire to go write back and order more (Sometimes I do). Well I thought I had finally found a true Mexican restaurant for burritos that would suck me dry, but guess again. The food is good and the tortillas are EXCELLENT, however they overcharged me for tortillas and did not make what I ordered. I ordered a rice and bean burrito and got a steak burrito. I paid for extra tortillas and did not get them. They do not seem happy with certain customers, but I still gave them 6 tries before I finally gave up. Hands down the best Mexican restaurant that I've ever been to. Been going here weekly for over a year now and the food is top notch. The taco shells are made fresh each day. The ingredients (meats, vegetables, cheese, etc) are fresh and of a high quality (i.e. the meat is never fatty or tough). They provide two types of sauce - green and red. I came to the establishment today August 13, 2017 because I heard the location was a nice spot for those of us who are from and used to the taco shops in Southern California. To start off the young gentleman working the register was great; however, the other guy working the register was horrible and continued to have a rebuttal against everything that was requested. For one, he continued to take over and take charge when speaking with the younger gentleman. We wanted to add cheese and sour cream to one of our burritos and confirmed with both the cook and the young gentleman and they stayed it was ok to add the ingredients at that point. Well here comes the other guy stating we couldn't add it because they were almost done with the burrito. We explained to him that the cook stated they had not completed the burrito and we could add it. After he spoke with the cook and they confirmed he was ok. That was the first issue. The second issue was after all of that, they mixed up the modifications and added it to the wrong burrito. This was an easy fix but still. The next issue came when I asked for the sauce in the container rather than the plastic bottles because it has an after taste from being in the refrigerator unopened. When I asked again the guy did not want to give me what I wanted. He kept saying it's the same sauce. I understood this and explained to him my understanding but I would like to have the sauce in the small covered container. He WOULD NOT give me the small container, I even knew there may possibly be a charge yet he would not give it to me. The experience here was horrible. In regards to the food the asada could have had a little more seasoning as it was bland. Also, the corn tortillas were not fresh (I had one soft taco). Their customer service definitely need an overhaul or at least the older guy up front because he is horrible. The young gentleman continued to apologize as he understood what I was requesting. First of all I would give no stars if I could. The young man at the counter very rude I should have left after he made us wait 5min to take order no one else in restaurant 2 gentle men came in after us to get to go order helped them immediately! My husband asked for a steak burrito mexican style cilantro & onions add cheese & lettuce only he was given rice beans no cilantro or onions after bringing it to cashiers attention he basically was like it is in there. I asked for chicken taco & quesadilla given a beef taco cashier said oh I didnt no basically keep it. Asked for jalapeño peppers he threw 2different salsas on table this is what we have. The reason the prices are so cheap is because they use cheap quality food cheese meat & they are very skimpy on meat. We have been to many authentic mexican restaurants Jimmy Carter Blvd has a wonderful hut in a plaza and Buford Hwy. This place first of all lacks customer we want ever return and the pooriest quality food. I could take chicken on quesadilla and put it on one slice and I threw it all away money wasted and staff who doesnt no how to resolve customer issues and a bad attitude. Businesses survive with good repeat customers if he doesnt change his attitude IDK! I hate to write negative reviews for anything! Especially a taco stand but if I can save someone else the misery on your tongue then I might as well!! My boyfriend and I are crazy over authentic Mexican food and we decided we would stop here for lunch... The price is pretty reasonable, If you want bland (when I say bland I mean absolutely no flavor what so ever, I'm not even a salt fan and I had to load my tacos down with salt and salsa to even eat them). Let's not forget to mention the service. As soon as we entered I felt uncomfortable bc the lady at the counter was giving us such a glare but we just wanted some good tacos so she didn't scare us away.... before we left my boyfriend had got up to throw his food away (he couldn't even eat his, this is saying something bc I am more picky of an eater than him and we hadn't even discussed the flavor or anything about the meal to each other by this point) well he got up and threw his plate away and the same lady rushed over and grabbed my plate before I was even finished and tossed it away. She didn't even ask if I was finished? How rude! she didn't say thanks, enjoy your day, your meal.. NADA! I have to rate this as the worst taco I have ever ate.
