We were on our way home from Mississippi and stopped in Terre Haute for dinner. We tried Taco Tequila's and I was wishing we lived closer than 3 hours. Inside was decorated really nice and rather chic. We were met by a really nice server who actually acted like he liked his work. He was great! He brought us warm corn chips. We each got our own bowl to pour salsa into from a carafe. The salsa was fresh and delicious. I ordered a chimichanga that has this fabulous sauce which came with retried beans, rice, guacamole and pico de gallo. Really good. I had an original margarita and my friend has a mango one with a sugar rim. Quite tasty. One friend ordered a burrito which she liked very much and another had an amazing quesadilla, which he had to take half of it home it was so generous. I would be at this restaurant once a week if I lived closer. Freshly made, prompt and friendly people make it a winner. read more

So I have a confession y'all, I came here around the time they first opened up and forgot to check in. Anywho, I came back and I must say this experience was far different from the first time. Unfortunately, I feel like they've gotten a tad cheap with their ingredients or overall food quality. I ordered the Tres Caminos fajita which is a combination of steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo served with the traditional rice and refried beans. I was completely underwhelmed, it just wasn't as good. The steak was so dry I contemplated on dipping it in water to get it down! Customer service was great. Oh and they offer student discounts!! I think T&T does ok for this small town. I hope they get better quality meat soon but until then, I won't be back. read more

Taco Tequila's is a great place to get some Mexican food. The green sauce is to die for. Paired with some steak, I couldn't stop eating. They also have plenty of Margherita options if you're looking to drink. The only real issue I had was the poor service. When we asked for a box, it didn't come until another person asked if we wanted a box. Then, the check took a while after as well. Other than that, everything was great. read more

The queso is a bit spicy and very tasty, the margaritas are limey and delicious, the chile relleno is pretty spectacular, the salsa is chilled and the chips are warm and both are free-so that's a super win. There is substantial space in the dining area and the waitstaff have always been top notch. The rice is a good texture, if not overly flavorful and the refried beans are as advertised. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. My usual is the Polo Ixtapa with extra pineapple. It's not your standard Mexican restaurant food. Their salsa is my favorite too. I'm not a huge cilantro fan and they don't seem to use much. But it has a slight marinara taste which Is what I actually really enjoy about it. Their cheese sauce is really good but feel a little over priced for the amount you get, especially when you get to-go orders. But overall we really enjoy eating here and frequent it often. read more

GREAT ATMOSPHERE! The food was good; we got the lunch steak fajita plates for $7.99 each. There were plenty of leftovers. Plus as always, free chips and salsa. We also got a coupon for a free soft drink and cheese dip from a nice boy outside, so we saved quite a bit of money ($2.29 for the soft drink and $3.25 for the cheese dip). The waitress was very nice and spoke English perfectly (in case anyone wonders). Although the place has a unique feel, we were hoping for a unique menu. They have a very similar menu to the countless other Mexican restaurants in Terre Haute. But, we will definitely be back - especially since it's Downtown! read more

The folks here have done a great job refreshing the space. There seems to be a new place in here every couple of months or so and I am hoping they can change that. Food. I have been here twice now and the food has been quality both times. It is reasonably priced with good portions. There is a large variety of foods that provide a nice change relative to all the Haciendas that saturate the town. Service. The staff has been very friendly both times. They seem to run a bit lean on staff and they caused quite a delay today. With that I would prefer they have more staff for lunch because if it continues to take that long at lunch I won't be able to come back. read more

The decor in the restaurant was so modern. My group really loved the vibe and I know we will be back again. The restaurant will soon have their liquor license on Dec. 1st and will also be playing live music starting soon. We ate the cheese dip and loved it. We also all really enjoyed the authenticity of the salsa. I ordered a chicken enchilada. It was great but the rice was the best part, best Mexican rice I've had in a long time. I lived in Terre Haute for a couple of years, but only discovered this place the day I was moving out of town! I came for lunch and I LOVED it so much that I came for dinner that SAME DAY. It's really that good. The atmosphere is fun and different from other Mexican joints. The service is very friendly and giving. I came for lunch and said it was my birthday and they gave me my lunch on them. It was so kind. There is a large amount of options, so there is definitely something for everyone. We almost did not go last night to eat here. Pulled up outside and boy was it crowded (who knew there was an ISU game and some sort of march or walk) but my wife said we should try. This might be the best that happened to Terre Haute. The food is great. Ask Maggie to make you a top shelf margarita. They also have a Mezcal worth checking out. Great little Mexican place! We came in a little late, 10pm, and sat at the bar. Grabbed a couple of margaritas and snacked on chips and fresh salsa. We ordered a small queso too, very tasty. The menu is a nice size offering a range of protein and traditional Mexican items. I went with an old favorite, arose con Pollo. My boyfriend had the chicken chimi. Okay...I'm obsessed with Mexican food and I know some places claim they are "authentic" when In fact their rice tastes like rice-a-Roni. The Mexican rice was flavored perfectly. This place was incredibly delicious and authentic. I got a steak fajita and the meat and vegetables were seasoned perfectly. I also think the queso is out of this world.
