I've never been impressed by a chimichanga til Taco Tequila's. I ordered over the phone and picked up at the front so I can't speak on customer service or the restaurant itself but the chimichanga was amazing. I also ordered an enchilada but nothing compared to the chimichanga. Perfectly seasoned chicken, tender and juicy, a great sauce, the regrows beans were delicious too and the rice was perfectly cooked! The house chips I ended up throwing out. My husband and I go to this restaurant at least monthly. The chicken Ixtapa was recommended by the waitress and since then I've gotten it several times. It has a delicious flavor and is exactly the right portion size for me. I find the food better than the other Mexican restaurants in town. They have a nice bar and serve different flavors of margaritas. Definitely give it a try if your craving some Mexican food and want to try something a little different. read more

First time visit for me and my wife on a Monday. Freaking excellent margaritas!! Had street tacos and they were also pretty good. Wife says her carnitas dish was really good. Neat little space. Wished we lived closer to town to take advantage of the place. I will return. Bartender was interactive and helpful for dinner thoughts. Taco Tequila's is probably one of my favorite locations to visit in downtown Terre Haute. The location is perfect and only a short walk from ISU's campus. With a lively vibe and colorful decorations, this Mexican-American will provide a great time. The food is always fresh and is served in large portions. The drinks are reasonably priced. Their complimentary chips and salsa (always fresh!) are a perfect addition to the fun atmosphere. I have eaten at this restaurant countless times and there are always a variety of people there. Stopped in here right before closing time, and the server was less than thrilled. However, she put her happy pants on and did a great job! I had the Pollo Iztaca (roasted corn and poblano peppers with chicken and shrimp... delicious!). They also have a full bar with an extensive tequila selection. They get a new tequila each week. Modelo on tap, which is always a winner in my book. Place was clean and cute. Only reason for the four stars instead of five is the less-than-welcoming attitudes. Taco Tequila's is a newly opened Mexican restaurant that has a hip and modern atmosphere. The menu is the perfect size and the food was full of flavor. I had the vegetarian fajitas, which were plentiful, a good price, and full of flavor. We had a large group, and were seated by the large front window, which made the experience even better. Our service was prompt and attentive. I do wish, however, that their taco menu was a bit larger. They had interesting and unique tacos, but I was hoping for a bit more variety. read more

The queso dip was amazing, fajitas were fairly good and not very expensive. The Margaritas were cheap and really good. I got the vegetarian fajitas and it was delicious! I got so much of the fajitas but not enough tortillas. It was fine though, I was full. You could easily make this vegan if you asked for no cheese on the fajitas and no sour cream on the side. My only complaint was that I didn't like the salsa, queso, or chips.
