My husband and I have been here three times now, and we really enjoy two of the three experiences. We had the honor of being one of their first patrons, you could tell even the staff were a bit confused on the flow of the concept and we stood there in silence for a good 30 second before they asked us what we'd like to order. We had questions about the food options and they were well prepared to answer. The first experience was the only time it was not really enjoyable but no issues linger since then. Our other experiences have been with family and friends. It's such a great spot to get away from the MASSIVE crowds further down the strip, and the immense seating space they have makes it hard to have a wait, inside and out! The vibes are fast food forward but the food quality stands somewhere between a street taco dive and the bell. This place was new to me this year - location is great, right on the downtown strip. The menu was intriguing - I loved the variety of tacos and knew I need to try a couple that were unique to this place! They also were a good option for my gluten free niece which makes eating out a lot easier! The food came out quickly and portion size was good (the pics don't do the taste justice!). Taco Trail opened in Gatlinburg recently, located under The Melting Pot. This casual taco restaurant offers a variety of crafted tacos, burritos, bowls and salads with veggie, chicken, pork, beef, cod, & shrimp options, plus chipsr & dips, queso mac & cheese, street corn, apple cinnamon churros and churro chips. They also offer kids meals, breakfast tacos, burritos & bowls. The pricing seems moderate. The Pepsi fountain drinks are self serve. The place offers touchscreen ordering, online ordering, and order at the counter with ample tables and booth seating in the dining rooms. They also offer a full service bar with seating serving beer and cocktails. Recently, I took a food break after an early morning stroll. I ordered online the Breakfast Bowl with Pork, Potato, Egg, Cheese ($10 plus tax), Ground Beef Taco with Side of Rice ($4.50 plus tax) and a Chicken n' Waffle Taco ($5.75 plus tax). My order was bagged on shelf in 10 minutes. I decided to eat my food in the seating area. First the good, the Chicken n' Waffle Taco was pretty good which had a fried chicken tender, bacon pieces, & soft waffle stick, smothered in maple syrup on a soft flour tortilla. The hard shell beef taco had seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomato, & cheese and a crisp hard taco shell. The beef was salty tasting. The Mexican rice was decent and clumpy. The breakfast bowl with salsa provided was lukewarm including the potatoes and scrambled eggs. This was one of those times I wished there was a microwave in the dining area. I added hot sauce to the bowl for a more spicy taste. Overall, the ordering process was easy and convenient. The bowl I had was eh, and the chicken n' waffle taco was a great choice. read more

I got the chrizzo, papa's , eggs and cheese taco. It tasted like mom's home cooking. My husband got the fajita taco and stated it was very good. The tacos are over stuff so you will need a fork. Everything is reasonably priced. Will be back. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Great T shirts. Suggestions for merchandise for the company: mugs and shot glasses are wonderful souvenirs. We loved our meal at Taco Trail! They are dog friendly on the patio, and we were immediately greeted by a staff member bringing our pup some fresh water. The inside was clean and "instagram worthy". Each person in our family got a taco combo deal - $18 got you two street tacos of your choosing, chips and salsa, a side, and a fountain drink. It was SO much food, and they also made it easy to take leftovers home. Our food arrived promptly. Another group with pups asked the cooks to make unseasoned chicken for their dogs, and they shared their very generous portion with us! read more

Best nachos ever!!!! My wife and I saw a couple of YouTube video reviews, so we knew we would have to give them a try. It did not disappoint. We went twice while in the BURG. Looking forward to next year's visit. Everything is fairly priced for being in a touristy area Everything we tried was delicious. Great service, friendly staff and nice environment. Love this place, although I am very disappointed they changed their opening hours from 9 am to 1030 am. Seems like a big jump. Like the food and atmosphere and the place is well lit with natural light and can people watch as folks pass by on the parkway. Drink prices are very reasonable too! read more

New Restaurant, close to our condo on a rainy night so, let's give them a try. Large inside. Plenty of seating. Walking in choose your food, pay and it was brought to table. You help yourself to waterand fountain drinks. We order 2 tacos each and an order of Nachos no protein, 2 cups water. $30. Tacos were very good but they are street taco size( $5. Each). I should have been more careful of the order of Nachos ($10.) scattered with hot jalapeños but was also very good. I wished prices were less but it was good. read more

Food was truly flavorful with good portions. Got the Dirty Hiker nachos and a vegetarian taco. Wife got fish tacos. Both plates and the nacho trey were stripped bear before we left, it was that good. Lovely patio right along the main drag perfect for people watching and dog friendly. The whole restaurant was immaculately clean and the staff was both friendly and helpful. This place claims to have the best tacos in town and the food definitely backs it up. I can attest the hiker nachos, Korean steak bbq taco, bbq spiced pork taco, blue blazer taco, and street corn are all great menu items to try that won't disappoint. read more
