Recommended to us by a coworker, and for good reason. Went for breakfast, and their breakfast tacos are amazing. Chorizo and Mexican Coke. Doesn't get better than that. Each plate came with pico and jalapeños. A couple of guys I was with requested some things they didn't necessarily sell, but a quick check in the back with the cook and they made some special exceptions. From the outside you maybe a bit skeptical from the cartoons painted directly on the window but I assure you you will not regret the magical lunch that awaits you! Tacolicous serves up authentic meaty tacos for cheap and in a clean establishment. I was a bit hesitant to use the restroom there but was pleasantly surprised! Now back to the tacos, after reading many reviews I ordered the beef tongue, I'm not usually that adventurous but boy was it tasty! We also had the spicy pork, chicken, and pulled pork tacos all were delicious but beef tongue was defiantly the most flavorful. I would recommend getting the taco platter which comes with rice and beans as the tacos themselves are just meat with cut onions and cilantro on the side. Prices are great we got the taco platter (3 tacos, rice, and bean) and 2 additional tacos all for $10! Will definitely be back! read more

Did not have to wait long.. Plenty of red, green, and habanero salsa to choose from a squeeze bottle. The habanero has a good kick. Cleans the sinuses. Rice for me is just a filler as long as it's not hard, mushy, dry, or tasteless. I went for the charro beans. Tasted good and not overly salted. Good portions of bacon pieces. Tacolicious is one of those almost hidden gems that you kind of have to work to find. Tucked away in a little strip center on the northwest edge of Dallas, it's worth the effort. If you want authentic Mexican street style tacos, this is definitely the place to be. My wife and I both had the three taco lunch special and they did not disappoint. For $7.89 you get three tacos (your choice of meat), rice, beans, and a drink. You get a choice of refried beans or charro beans. I tried both and loved the charro beans, though both were good. The rice could use a little work (preference) but was quite good as well. On the side, you get some grilled jalapeno and grilled onion, as well as a cilantro and white onion pico and a wedge of lime. I may miss one, but you get a choice of chicken, tongue (lengua), barbacoa beef, fajita beef, pork carnitas, and spicy pork al pastor. Between the two of us, we had fajita, barbacoa, carnitas, al pastor, and chicken. All were excellent. The only knock I had was on the pastor it is traditional in most places for little bits of pineapple with the meat, which were absent. All were served on the small double corn tortillas, and all were quite tasty. All in all, great tacos and great value. When we first arrived, it was pretty quiet in the place, but by the time we were done the place was getting pretty crowded. If you yearn for a taste of what tacos are supposed to taste like, this place is a must. You will not be disappointed! read more

I like to fancy myself as a taco expert and I love finding good spots to frequent. This place serves mostly street style tacos. Everything is moderately priced and the quality of the product is legit! Traditional proteins like Al Pastor, Chicharron, and Lengua were on point. Guacamole was fresh and the salsas had great flavor. The place was clean and there was plenty of seating available. I will be visiting often. read more

This review is only for breakfast. After landing in Texas, my boyfriend was ravenous for breakfast burritos--something that I exposed him to on his first trip to Arizona. We were hoping to find something similar in DFW, but alas, it seems like breakfast tacos are king here. The breakfast tacos and burritos (think on-the-go mini-burrito) were cheap and tasty. They consisted of egg and a meat of your choosing. It was a solid breakfast after we landed in Texas, but it left me wanting more. It was good but I wished for better. How the hell can this place not figure out how to roll a burrito?! They fold the tortilla over once, and wrap it in foil. The second you turn it on end, the filling starts falling out the bottom. They don't even bother TRYING to fold the ends in. Twice this has happened, leaving a pile of burrito filling all over my plate, and a sad, soggy, useless tortilla. I paid $10 for the "burrito" and some terrible sweet tea. I will not be making this mistake a third time. read more

Went here on a whim after finding on yelp and seeing great reviews. Nice little place. Had the beef burrito and it was huge!! My friend had the enchiladas and she said they were good as well. One complaint would be they need better plasticware, hard to eat a BOB with a cheap flimsy spork. Also would be nice if they offered paper plates as well. Friend had a a ha Rd time eating enchiladas with spork in little paper tray. Better plasticware might resolve this issue. read more

It's unfortunate that you can't give half-stars, because I'd say this is a solid 3.5 overall. If I were to rate this place on their barbacoa and habanero hot sauce alone, it would be a 4.5 for sure. As you can surmise, if you come here, get the barbacoa and you will not be disappointed. The moistness and flavor is excellent and the habanero hot sauce is divine in terms of its flavor. I would warn against anyone who is sensitive to spice from trying the habanero sauce though (it's in the opaque red bottle). Everything else on the menu is solid, but I can't say that any of it is as exceptional as the barbacoa. I've tried the burritos, tortas, and other meats just have to say that barbacoa is the way to go for everything. The other meats are ok but not exceptional and they can run a bit dry sometimes, which is the only thing keeping me from pushing this review to 4 stars. Anyways, I hate giving 3's because Yelp definitely tends to skew to 4 stars as the average category, but do not be fooled by whatever perception you have of a 3-star review as this is a solid, solid lunch joint (it's on my list of top lunch places in Las Colinas). Come here and give the barbacoa a try and you won't be disappointed. read more

I have to say the pictures of the food didn't really support the high reviews, and this held true....I tried the beef fajita, al pastor and pollo - all meats (maybe other than al pastor) were way over cooked and tasted really hard and flavorless. Kudos for the homemade hot sauces, the optional onion/cilantor/grilled onion and jalapeno provided on the side, and I'm not sure whether the tortillas were homemade but they weren't bad. But compared with a place like Trompo, this is light years behind...probably won't return. read more
