This was my first time trying to purchase a car. When we first got there, me and my partner looked around at the cars. After around 10-15 minutes we noticed the employees standing by the door watching us so we walked in the building to confirm we were interested in test driving. When I was ready to buy, after test driving, the only woman in the office said, "now, I'm not trying to be rude..." which is always a weird way to start off a sentence, because you can almost guarantee they are about to be rude. "We close in about 15 minutes..." and she basically said we can come back tomorrow. No biggie, but not being rude would have been to greet us when we first got there an hour prior, and let us know they close in an hour, not to stand awkwardly by the door and have us wander about. Then the same lady made a comment about us being from Tacoma and how they have a problem with theft from that city. At this point we have been experiencing a few microagressions from the staff that we were just ignoring because I wanted a car. Then there was this guy who ignored my presence because (I'm assuming) his job doesn't seem to be centered around customer service. But how awkward and rude to just have me standing there waiting for help while you're doing nothing but casually chit-chatting with your coworker. Then he finally said something when my partner, who is tall and has a more aggressive presence, walked in. This employees whole tone was off. He also tried to act like he didn't know one of the gaskets were blown when my partner notified him (shady). Then he asked for my W-2 (in addition to check stubs) and said it was because they don't do a credit check. Then, in the same breath, he asked me what my credit score was. I gave him a weird look and said, "I guess you don't need to know since you don't do a credit check." After a long, awkward stare he said, "these are just questions we ask." But the thing is, no, you don't. You just told me you don't do a credit check so why ask me for my credit score? That means he, personally, just wanted to know. Weird and unprofessional. And let's be real if my credit was better, I wouldn't have been there, I would have head straight to a quality dealership. read more

I have to rate Tacoma Auto Exchange as a bomb shell 0. The Tuttle brothers allowed their mechanic Eric Cinco shut down and sie e my Malibu. He pulled the security system wirhout shutting down my cars computer system. I WAS GIVEN NOTHING FOR THE 1900 DOLLARS I PAID FOR THE CAR. Then i was financed a Kia. I needed a car badly and had been shopping around and going to different car lots with the promise of being able to leave with the car i wanted only to hear a completely different story when I got there. But i spoke on the phone with Sam and he told me what he needed from me and to come on down and I did and this was BY FAR the best, smoothest, and easiest car buying experience I have ever had. I got a nice SUV with a payment I could afford and i couldnt be happier. Kathleen took over at the end to explain my contract and have me sign papers and she was just as efficient as Sam was. I waited nearly a month to write this review: I was sold a piece of junk by this "dealership". When I got there, the car I inquired about over the phone was suddenly unavailable, but I had my pick of the litter of faulty Ford Taurus'. After starting up a couple (including one that backfired, and another that would not even start), I found a Geo Metro that was running fine. As my husband and I sat down to fill out paper work, suddenly that car had been in an accident and they couldn't sell it to us... So we were back to the shitty Taurus'. Before I showed up, I told Sam over the phone that I needed a reliable car to get me from Tacoma to Auburn for work. He claimed he could help me and instead, he was a stereotypical used car salesmen. The day I drove it home, it smelled like it was going to catch fire. I decided to take it in for an oil change, and surprise surprise, the thing didn't start. Called the dealership who offered to "look at it" if I could get it there... on my own dime. Bought a new battery, but that wasn't the issue: the starter is bad... and the serpentine belt... and the brake pads... and thean anti theft system is messed up and prevents the doors from locking, and the check engine light is on... all in less than 30 days. I do not even have my license plate yet. The dealership is actively avoiding me now because it seems like they feel that since they got $550 for a down payment and two $175 payments, they are done and can take my money. I would have no issues hearing from them if I missed a payment, I am sure. I was supposed to receive a call back to confirm when someone from the dealership would be coming to pick up my car that isn't running. Meanwhile, I still have to get to my job. It is too bad that integrity is lacking in places like this. I am going to go through an actual dealership to get a reliable car. Don't assume your credit is too bad to deal with credible people. If you desperate enough to spend money here, just take the money directly to the auto auction, or take your chances with a 19 year old on Craigslist. read more

Worst customer service experience ever! In an industry where your income relies on your customer service these guys were super unprofessional and not friendly at all to help customers. Watched someone test drive a car and it broke down right in front of the car lot in the middle of the street. If I could I'd give them a zero! read more
