Very disappointed with this establishment it's been a while since I've been here, but they had the best adobo wings. I came all the way from San Fernando Valley just to find out that they no longer serve them and took off the menu. Tacomasa Cantina, was recommended by my friend Jesus. I hit up the girlfriend, it was a Wednesday after we both got off work. The parking lot was pretty full, but Tacomasa is located in a plaza surrounded by other restaurants. Tacomasa sits inbetween Noodles Company and Uroko Cafe. When we pulled up, it was clear as day most of these cars that are parked are eating at Tacomasa. Their outside patio seating was pretty full, as well as inside with only one of two tables left. Luckily there was only 2 groups of three in front of us, so it gave us enough time to think what we wanted to order. While we waited for our food, it started to get really busy, as a line started to form down towards the parking lot. It was pretty crazy to see that it was different party sizes from 2 people to 5-6 people. I do wish they have a self serve salsa bar, I am sure there are plenty of opportunities to ask for more salsa etc etc, but seeing how much foot traffice they get from people ordering or standing around waiting for to-go orders, I can see where you'd wait a few to get more salsa. The food came out pretty quick with the elote being the first to come out. Really good elote, what i really loved was the cook of the corn! You didn't really have to dig your teeth in to get the corn, it came off super smooth, which meant not much corn stuck in between the teeth. My girlfriend said as she ate the elote "we should have ordered two". Not too long after the elote they arrived with our three dishes: Adobada Burrito - This is what I ordered, which I usually go for tacos so I can try different meats, but I was in the mood for a burrito. Finally a place where the flavor isnt just coming from the meat. I really enjoyed the flavors coming from the beans and the rice, mix in the sweet and not too spicy Adobada, it was delicious. As mentioned above I wish they had a salsa bar, because the salsa that is topped on the carne asada fries(talked about more down below) , I needed more of that! Carne Asada Fries - I don't know about anyone else but for me, trying any kind of new Mexican food joint, I have to try their carne asada. Here at Tacomasa, they did not disappoint. The fries had a good balance of soft texture (gf likes) with a little bit of crunch (my way, best way) to it. A plethora of fries, carne asada rested above, cheese and then green salsa. The green salsa was so bomb! As mentioned a few times above, I wanted more of that salsa! The carne asada had the nice grill char taste, while continuing to hold the fresh meat taste. I know it can happen any time, but this plate of carne asada fries, we did not encounter a bad cut of the meat...ya know sometimes you get a piece of meat that is just all fat. Two taco plate (Abodaba and Jamaica ) - The girlfriend ordered this, this is where I experience the flavor the rice and beans had before I even took a bite of my burrito. The girlfriend loved the adobada taco, but wasn't vibin with the jamaica taco. That was her first time and my first time trying a jamaica taco, the drink is delicious (gf ordered that also btw). I am sorry if anyone here enjoys any Jamaica taco, it just wasn't for us, without a doubt all the food Tacomasa has dished out to us and its been delicious. I am sure Jamaica taco is good for anyone that enjoys it. Overall I can see why this place gets busy and stays busy. We will definitely be back. I want to try what I have been seeing in most reviews, their Super Mulitas, which is adobada and asada...whaa?!?! Plus all their drinks look really good between the margaritas and the micheladas. You can wash everything down with self serve Pepsi products, assorted juices and plenty of adult beverages. They even offer dog treats for the pet friendly patio. Service was very welcoming by the entire staff. Prices were reasonable 2 tacos served with beans and rice along side a fountain beverage for $9.99. I went with the Pollo and Carne. Do not order online!! We ordered online for pick up and learned the prices are FAR more cheaper than ordering online. I missed the online prices "varies" as we were ordering. The food was good but I made the comment "this is not $97 good". We ordered pollo burrito, asada burrito with extra meat, asada fries, taco plate, and torta. The meat was good and had a smoky flavor, guac was good and fresh, salsa smoky, and beans and rice were delicious. My only criticism is the food could have been hotter and the agua Fresca was way too sweet and needed lime. It was like drinking pure sugar. I'd like to give one less star for paying over $90 for $70 worth of food but I don't think it's fair to judge food on such a discrepancy. Would I eat here again? Yes. The pork here is absolutely amazing!!! It's cooked on a spit that you can see when you are at the register. I had a pork race and a chicken taco. Delicious!!! But I totally favor the pork !!! I had the opportunity to meet the owner who was present at his restaurant assisting his staff. The staff were all nice, accommodating and pleasant. There is lots of parking, and in door and out door seating. However, due to the popularity of Tacomasa it's become very popular and crowded. Seating in and outdoors may be limited. Came here a little after their grand opening on a Saturday evening. I came here with my husband, aunt, and uncle to order ourselves and our family that were at home (10 minutes away from the restaurant) dinner. The line was passed 3 business down so we knew this place was going to be good. Parking wasn't so bad, and after waiting in line for about 30 minutes we were able to order carne asada burritos, carne asada fries, adobada tacos, adobada fries, an adobada torta, and chicken tacos for 7 people. The service was good, they were patient with us and our big order, they told us it was going to be about 20 minutes for our food. We didn't mind because they were new, it was busy, and we had a big order. I noticed that once someone leaves a table, the servers would clean it right away for the next customers to sit down. I also noticed a party that sat outside, but they were waiting for a table inside. One of the servers helped them get a table inside, and I thought that was very thoughtful. About 20 minutes have passed and we were told our order was ready. We were assured that our fries were inside each bag, so we didn't think much of it. We drove home, gathered our family to find out we were missing one of the fries. Shame on me for not checking on the spot, but the way they told us that our order was ready, read our order back to us, and assured us that our fries were inside each bag made me not double check. We then drove back another 10 minutes to the restaurant and showed them a picture of the food we got and the receipt that we ordered 2 different kinds of fries and we were told they were all in the bags. The gentlemen that helped me was kind enough to get the order corrected, apologized, and then offered to refund our whole order. My aunt told him he didn't have to, we just wanted the fries we ordered, but he insisted. The way he handled the situation, the customer service I saw, and the quality of the food is what makes me recommend this place to others. The food was delicious, no complaints. The meat was seasoned perfectly and what I enjoyed was the type of fries they use. It wasn't just those typical frozen fries, it was more of those crispy dark brown fries similar to popeyes fries.
