This place has been super hyped since it moved into Cypress. I finally had a chance to try it and I was left wanting more. I came here a few months ago on a Wednesday evening and it was fairly crowded. There was a short line and I didnt have to wait long. The servers are friendly and were happy to answer my questions. I decided to go with an adobada burrito and a chicken mulita. They hand you a number after you order and then theres seating indoors or on the outdoor patio. They bring the food to you once its ready. First, the adobada burrito....all I have to say is...major oil. I took a picture it whole and then when I cut it open, oil came running out of it. I'm not going to pretend this place is healthy, but wow was that surprising. The meat tasted good, but it was filled with more rice and beans than meat. Disappointed for spending $12 on this. The mulita on the other hand was pretty good. It had a nice crispy top and bottom and it was filled with meat, cilantro, and cheese. It wasnt as oily as the burrito despite the cheese and had a great balance of flavor. Overall, the food was okay, the place was clean, the staff was friendly, but the prices were not align for what you get. I think this place for me is a one and done. read more

For my first experience at Tacomasa I was very pleased; one of my friends had come here for the grand opening and thought it was a good spot to go grab a drink for a another friends birthday. The space is just right you can sit inside or outside with plenty of patio area sitting, We set outside because it was a lovely day to enjoy the weather. I really like the aesthetic of the restroom. I found it a bit hard to just sit down because the music was good it made us want to get up and break out with some dancing. Our goal was to have 1 drink and leave but we end up having a few drinks and food and staying for about 3 hours. We were surprised that the employees came out to celebrate my friends birthday with a drink we all had no idea they were going to do that, and it made our experience even more better. The food was good, the tacos hit the spot; There were a few replacements that I needed for my tacos and quesadillas like no guacamole and add sour cream instead that I end up having to pay for which I think should have been an easy change without having to order more for that change; other than that this places is super great! read more

Everything about this place is perfection. We came on a Friday around 2pm so it was pretty dead. The service was amazing, they were so friendly and helpful. They offered us free meat samples of asada and adobada pork which were both amazing. The adobada tacos are so delicious, the taco and side portions are great size, not too overwhelming like other Mexican places. The restaurant is super clean and pays homage to Mexican cinematic history, so unique. I hate micheladas and their watermelon michelada was actually so good. A bit pricey but worth it! Ordered the carne asada taco combo, comes with two tacos rice and beans. Also got the adobada style hot wings, never had anything like them before. The meat is perfectly seasoned and served with decent amount of protein, the homemade corn tortilla combined with the meat to have a charbroiled Tijuana street taco flavor. The staff moves like clockwork and I had my ordered ready by the time I got out of the restroom. Extremely attentive service and the restaurant is clean and hooked up with 4 big screen TV's and a taco stand decor. The restroom sink was a pot which my 4 year old got a kick out of. Staff is friendly. Food quality is a little lacking. Review is for 2 take out visits 3 weeks apart. Ordered burritos both times. First with the abodaba -which was unremarkable. Second with asada which was better but a little gristly which affected the texture - not in a good way! Hot salsas are good and really help liven up the food -which is a little bland. This place has to be stingy with their salsa. I've been here 5 times, 2 take out and 3 dine-in. On separate visits i ask for salsa to be inside the meal or on the side. In all my visits I don't get either . On my take outs i get home and no salsa. During dine-in its the same. Even if I order them on the side. The latest was last night. I asked for it on the side with my meals, the hostess takes me order, repeats my order, and even brings out my order. No salsa. Why do I always have to ask again? On one of my takeout visits, the hostess bags my meal, repeats my order before handing it to me, tells me salsa is in the bag, i take her word for it, I get home. No salsa. Wow! Amazing and vey authentic Mexican food, possibly best I've had around OC. Tacos are pretty good but today I had the best Adobada (Pork) torta of my life!!! Meat cooked on the spit slowly roasting gives it that nice crust, the bread was dipped in who knows what but I'd drink a gallon of it if they let me and the guacamole they use on the torta is different than what they serve with everything else...it's something special! Unexpected little gem! This is the place for some good Tijuana style tacos. They had other delicious options aswell. Adobada was on point & the wings al carbon were definitely a must! Drinks were also a nice treat! They were refreshing & packed a nice kick. The place has a nice little indoor/outdoor area very clean & definitely takes you to the destination!
