Taconeta is one of the few places in El Paso where you can find genuinely good tacos. I visited on a Thursday evening in May, and after almost three years in the area, this was the first time I found tacos that truly impressed me. I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos, Suadero Tacos, Elote in a Cup, and a Mezcal Margarita. While the Mezcal Margarita was a bit disappointing--it lacked flavor--and the Elote in a Cup didn't stand out, Taconeta clearly excels at what it's known for: tacos. Both the Baja Fish and Suadero Tacos were excellent. They tasted fresh, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Parking can be a bit challenging due to the restaurant's popularity. Despite plenty of spots around, they fill up quickly, and we had to park almost a block away. Seating is also in high demand, with most tables occupied, and we ended up sitting outside. The line to order was long, wrapping around the building, which also contributed to a longer wait for food. However, this was understandable given the large crowd. Overall, Taconeta is worth visiting if you're in the mood for a casual but flavorful dinner. The tacos alone make it a standout spot in El Paso. read more

Our experience at Taconeta, located in the newly gentrified area of Downtown El Paso, was superb. The shrimp and suadero tacos, served on freshly made corn tortillas, were delicious. The fried green beans made us twirl with delight. The drinks, albeit pricey, were delightful. The ambiance, reminiscent of Mexico City with a hint of Tulum influence, added to the experience.
