After patiently waiting 15 minutes just to get my name on the waitlist and getting no where we decided to leave. Saw 2 people behind the bar just kind of standing there. Neither even attempted to greet me let alone offer to help me. Don't know how long I would have stood there waiting to be helped if I hadn't decided to leave. Too bad too because the food looked pretty good but there are many taco places in town that have good food and better service. Tacos 805 is the best Mexican food I've had in Simi Valley. We order Tacos 805 multiple times a week through Uber Eats & the food is perfect every time. We also have never had to wait more than 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Our favorites are the queso birria tacos & the enchiladas. This place is a must try! read more

The place was very cute, clean, and have a nice ambiance. It was quite full when we arrived to pick up the order, but they were very attentive and quick. The flavor of the taquitos was good, but unfortunately, they added all the topings on top, which made them soggy, I'll recommend them to place the topings on the side for to go orders. The fish taco had good flavor, but they didn't provide lemon or lime, which should be considered by them. The quesibirria was quite greasy and soggy...it git good flavor, but I'll recommend them to let the qusabirria rest over some absorbent paper prior to serving it. I also ordered an 805 burrito with carne asada...the burrito was ok, nothing special about it. I believe that the amount of food and quality didn't really justify the prices, and the salsas were mashed jalapeños. I'm unsure of recommending this place, but hopefully, they'll pay attention to the customers' feedback and improve the preparation of the food and portions. I have been here twice now.... The first time I had a grilled chicken street taco and a fish taco. The chicken taco was good and I would go back for one...however I prefer not having fish or shrimp fried in a taco...my opinion - which is why I wouldn't have either of those again. I did order one of their tacos with shrimp and steak and every piece of steak had so much gristle I couldn't swallow it and I was disappointed in the flavor and combination. I don't' know that I can recommend this place....I think they still need to work out their menu and quality control. read more

I read about Tacos 805 on next door and thought we would check it out. It is a small place and we sat at the bar. Food is excellent as well as the service and friendliness of the staff. We had beef taquitos, carnitas street tacos and carne asada street tacos. All were very tasty! We had horchata to drink but the next time I will have a draft as they have my local favorites from Tarantula Hill brewery, Liquid Candy and the Blond! Thank you for a very enjoyable lunch! Really great place. They have a lot of local beers on tap such as Enegren, Topa Topa, Made West, along with a few others. They have big TVs all around with sports games on, it gives more of a sport bar vibe than a Mexican restaurant. The service was really fast and friendly. The food was really good I had the Carne Asada Tacos Street Style and the Chicken Nachos. I feel the Tacos were a little pricey at $3.75 each however the Chicken Nachos which I think were $12 were really good and came with lots of toppings and the Guacamole that comes on the Nachos was tasty as well. Food is great but there menu's and prices do not match. After ordering and eating our food the bill came and everything was more expensive than advertised. We ordered the papa asada (baked potato) and asked for a size of sour cream, which ended up being an extra charge for $1. Seems like they are still trying to figure it out but hidden fees no matter how big or small don't feel right. When we comforted the manager about the fees they told us "we are new and the menus need to be updated" then she blamed the server for not informing us of the charges. Taking a break from work in Simi and thought I'd get some tacos from somewhere convenient. Walked in to an electrifying atmosphere, the bar crowded with the Laker game playing. Great smells spilling from the kitchen door while laughter and excitement overflowed from the bar area. The carne asada and carnitas tacos I ordered were juicy and savory wrapped with a delicious tortilla. I was surprised to meet the owner as she was leading by example, disguised as her staff. I have never written a review, however with this horrible experience I had no choice but to inform everyone else from this happening to you. I would rate this place 0 out of 5 stars. This place doubled charged me on an order back in February 14th and I STILL haven't received my refund. I spoke with the owner and she said, she would contact the credit processing company to resolve the issue, but never got back to me. I have been contacting the place to check the status numerous times until today, however the workers will always say the owner is not there or will be in later. but, when I call back at that time; they say she's not here or out again. I can't believe they always have an excuse or to hide from really trying to resolve the issue. The owner said they contacted their credit card/order processing company and said to wait 3 days, however I waited longer than that and still haven't gotten refund on the double charge until today which is March. And the owner doesn't care about the customer getting double charged or anything on trying to resolve this issue in a quickly manner and letting it extend over a MONTH! Usually refunds take less than or no more than a week to process. Beware at risk of getting double charged when using your credit care at this place. read more

Ordered take out. Food was good but pricey. Restaurant was nice lots of people enjoying themselves lots of TVs seems like a cool vibe and a great place to catch a game and have a beer. Service was great, friendly and polite staff. However..... the tostada mixta was straight ROBBERY!!! $15 for a small amount of seafood with absolutely no flavor... they need to change that.. also, include some chips with those prices. Such great food here, not just the tacos. However, if you want delicious tacos, this is the place! Pastor are so flavorful and generous with the meat, get it WITH the pineapple! Same deal with the chicken and asada tacos as well. We've got almost everything on the menu and I'll point out that the tacos dorado, and the GIANT mountain of nachos are just incredible as well. Super disappointed. This place started off strong and has now flopped for me, I will not return. You pay $22 dollars for carnitas fries and you get a plate full of fries with a few strands of pork. Never again. Feeling very ripped-off. I could get more meat from a steakhouse for that upcharge. They used to be super generous and now down to the extreme opposite. read more

Disappointing experience with a new place we were excited to try when they opened. There are no hours posted to understand days of the week or hours they are open. We wanted to see their menu, we were in the shopping center & decided to pop in to look at the menu. We we were told by an employee that they ran out of paper menus; how does a new place that has been open for a little over a week not have any menus. She told us to go online at Tacos 805 to look at the menu. The interaction isn't a good first impression & although I know I can look at a menu online, someone who has a new business should deliver a great first impression experience. Not, can't help you, look it up. Lots of choices for great Mexican food in Simi Valley with great service. Not sure this will be the place I would recommend. read more
