Wow! Aside from Taquitos West, these are the most authentic street tacos you can get in SA. The food is flavorful, the salsa is tasty. I had the mulitas which are quesadillas except instead of the traditional melted cheese, this is a cheese crust(costra de queso) which adds a delightful texture to the taco. They even have the typical red chairs just like in Mexico. Just missing the "Coca-Cola" or "Tecate" logos on them. Parking is easy(in the back). The price is a bit on the higher side but for the amount of flavor and attention on the food, I'd say it's worth it. Come give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

I had the vampiros tacos. The Al pastor and asada were chefs kiss and the tacos were the perfect amount of crunch.

Since moving to SATX I had been on the hunt for some authentic street tacos and I found my spot! A friend that lives here recommended it and I'm so glad she did. They have several options on the menu. One of my favorite (unique) items on their menu that we tried was the (Cabrona) potato dish. It's basically a layered baked potato with your choice of meat. I also tried their Al pastor tacos and wow! My mouth watered just reminiscing! Their tortillas taste handmade and they have a full bar of salsas! They have plenty of indoor seating and they also have their food truck parked outside. Service was wonderful and price range is very reasonable! Ambiance is very casual! Not too busy or crowded during the week. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for some delicious authentic street tacos!

    Very sad Saturday lunch (1pm).

In San Antonio for the day and needed a goo taco... And so I pulled up and it was CLOSED!

    At least update your address?!

Super upset, we talked to a man about our door dash order - THE ADDRESS IS WRONG ON GOOGLE. They literally have it listed as 11395 Shaenfield Rd San Antonio, TX we drove in so much traffic getting here and even placed our order online come to find they moved or it never even existed?! He told us we'd get our refund within 3 days.. mind you it was $50 for tacos. Tacos we never got?! Weeks pass by, no answer we even left a VOICEMAIL and no call back. So unprofessional and sad we won't ever even be trying these tacos!!

Wow the tacos are so tasty and delicious. Had the mulitas. Meat was delicious and prepared just right. Corn tortillas very fresh and perfectly made. Borracho beans had the perfect amount of spice and again every tasty. Restaurant was exceptionally clean. Service was number 1. Definetly will be back!

The food was easy to order, they bring you the menu and then it's cooked in the food truck outside and brought to you. They have an excellent salsa bar with toppings such as radishes, limes, onions, salsas of different heats, etc. I got my tacos on corn and the tortillas felt a little thick as they broke apart when eating. The meat was good flavored, but a little dry. Overall a good atmosphere and ambiance, but should do a little work on the actual product since they really only sell tacos.

Some of the best charro beans I've had.. definitely a must try! The tacos were tasty and there's plenty of toppings and salsas to try. I went early during lunch time and it wasn't busy but by the time I left it was getting crowded so I can see this place getting/staying busy well into the evening. The hours do change depending on the date so be sure to check before going, parking is limited in the front but there's extra parking in the back.

Impossible to pick a #1 taco location in our beautiful city but Tacos al Carbon Cabron is right there among the elite. Food truck / bricks morter combo that works really well. Mesquite coal inferno powers the taco cooking outside while patrons, jarritos, salsa bar stay cool inside listening to festive rhythms. Fun place. Owner??/manage?? Was super nice and checked on us several times and clearly is putting in the effort to create excellent fare. Three main dishes to choose from - tacos (pollo, asada, al pastor), mulitas (cheesy, meaty gold) and vampiritos (similar but on crisp tortilla). Hot, served a few seconds off the grill. Big selection of chilled, ultra-fresh salsas, chiles, radishes etc at the salsa bar. Trust me, you will want to try all of these... Also had a tasty unique dish called Chile Cabrone. Consists of chile, sliced open, stuffed with cheese, meat and a splash of soy sauce. It works ans its great!! Get off of your couch and get you some tacos cabron! Oh and take a snap with Wemba at the cool mural outside on the wall. Wembamania just starting to heat up.

Bombb!!! Must try their vampiritos hit the spot! Along with with their tacos!

Best tacos so far since I have been here. Sorry but everyone talks abut Taco Palenque but they are over rated and prices are ridiculous! This place has an amazing flavor on the pastor and asada can't judge the chicken haven't tried it . I wasn't a big fan of the beans because I think they were overcooked wasn't to my liking . The customer service was absolutely amazing young man explained everything. The ambience of this is great relaxed music is at its point of the volume . You can still hear yourself think! Defiantly will be coming back soon. FYI they only specialize on three meats.

Ambiance inside and food covered when brought in

This place reminds me of fresh ingredients. Not only the tacos are good , the salsa bar too . It is fresh and kept cold . The servers are smiling. Food is order at the food truck and brought inside the restaurant fully covered. The owner personally welcomed you and served you and take live feed back . This place is an experience! The experience is unique and food delicious . Thanks to be a servant of good food and good vibes to the community of San Antonio !

Super clean. Fast friendly service. Simple menu. We had tacos and mulitas. Both huge and tasty. Beans were on point. Highly recommend! We will be back.

Tacos de badass! And salsa is very pikachu!

This place is F'ing legit! I wanted to try everything and I will be back again and again until I do. Salsa bar is badass tacos are badass, muletas are badass, vampiros are badass! Only two options carne o pollo and trust me if puerco was an option here the socioeconomic stability of most countries would be hanging in the balance. So come on and take a chance... Columbus did!

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. With the aroma coming from the grill and all the recommendations I'd heard, I was expecting a little more flavor and a bigger wow factor. The atmosphere was fun, the service was good, and the charcoal grill definitely adds to the experience. I just found the food itself to be more "solid" than "spectacular." As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. No alcohol is served here so if you want margaritas/micheladas/beer, you'll have to go elsewhere for that. No doubt I'm returning next time I'm in SA. Viva Taquitos West SIDE!

On the plus side, our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. We ordered the pork tenderloin, ribeye, and shrimp and grits with a creamy gravy sauce. Every single dish was delicious. I'm pretty picky when it comes to steak, but the ribeye really impressed me: it was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The shrimp and grits were another standout.
