2 pastor one carnitas and one pork belly

This place super legit and has some of the best tacos I have had in the boulder area. They are about to open a location in boulder that is going to have a bar and table service. Supposed to open in a month. This is going to be a much needed addition to boulder as the Mexican food here isn't authentic (except for cozobi but that's a different experience). Good luck !

if you're like me and hate having to go through so many different options of where to eat, let me lighten the load for you and recommend getting the Gorditas from here. Easy and delicious snack or lunch break, i can assure you you'll leave here happy. The guy who took my order was bilingual and kind (and handsome) and im so happy I found this place while I was just passing through. Will definitely come back again when in the area

The reviews weren't lying, the food here absolutely delivers, and every bite backed up the hype.

Stopped by Tacos Ay Ay Ay while visiting Colorado and had a very solid experience overall. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo, while my relative went with the asada burrito. Both were flavorful, generously sized, and came out hot and fresh. The chorizo had a nice kick without overpowering the other ingredients, and the asada was tender with good seasoning. Service was friendly and the vibe felt relaxed and local, which I always appreciate when trying a neighborhood taco spot. They also have a salsa bar with around 6 different salsa heat levels, and chopped radish. This is an easy 4.5 out of 5 stars for me, and I'd absolutely come back again to move it to 5 stars.

Authentic street tacos served efficiently in cramped space, maybe 9 stools seating in L-shaped metal counter. Loved the carnitas torta with hot chile. Boy had tacos found salty bits and al pastor was not his fav. Salsa bar‼ Horchata good. Will be back soon.

Great, authentic Mexican street tacos! Small, mostly take out place in a strip mall in Lafayette. We went on a Saturday night, it was pretty busy but the employees were nice and efficient. We tried the carne asada taco, chicken taco and a carne asada burrito. Everything was excellent and they offer free sauces.

Such a great find! I've been here an embarrassing amount of times in the last 1-2 months. The bacon breakfast burrito is my go to, but the chicken burrito, chorizo breakfast burrito, and sausage breakfast burrito have all been amazing as well. Next time I have to try some of the non-burrito options!

My friend ordered an enchilada, and I ordered the carne asada. The place was half empty, so it was strange that our food took more than 30 minutes to arrive after we ordered. They had only a few servers working, and the fact that we only saw our waiter run by once or twice in that 30-minute wait for our food was not helpful. As time passed, I looked for wait staff to ask about my food, but I couldn't find any as none passed our way. The food was dropped at the table, and I got the impression that they were kitchen staff who dropped the plates and quickly ran off. My first impression of the food was shock, thinking, "They charge $25 for that tiny plate? You gotta be kidding me." The presentation was okay, but as you can see from the pic, the overpriced meal only covered a tiny portion of the undersized plate. It left a lot to be desired. Since our waiter was nowhere in sight, I had to go up to the bar to ask for salt. With my first bite, I found the potatoes cold, possibly because my food had been sitting around for quite some time. Sadly, after cutting into my supposed-to-be-medium-and-pink carne asada, it was cooked dry to shoe leather and inedible. It was disgusting. I grabbed a passing waiter and asked him to send my waiter over. He offered to help me, so I explained to him that this was disgusting and not what I ordered. He did offer to make me a new one, but after waiting 30+ minutes for my food and being served this, I lost my appetite. Yes, they took it off the bill, but still charged $3 for a Coke. Real classy. I enjoy fine dining and excellent cuisine, but to call this fine dining would be an insult to fine dining. Do better, Teocalli

I like that the menu is constantly changing, so I can always try something new. There are usually a few staples, too. The tacos are priced reasonably so you can try several flavors. Every now and then there's one I don't like as much as the others, but that doesn't ruin the experience. The ramen is priced well for the amount you get, too. The only thing I consistently haven't liked is their guacamole. But I do like their avocado and salsas. They have a decent happy hour and, recently added, a "taco Tuesday." The kids menu options are pretty good, too. The hot dogs are a hit. Sometimes the buttered noodles are, too. The tiki drinks are great fun, and they're always trying something new. In the past, they've put lemonades in fun cups (like the hedgehog cup) so our kids can enjoy a "fancy drink." The service is pretty fast and consistent. They bring you a nice jug of water to help yourself with refills.

So it was shocking that I found such a good bowl out here in Erie. I got the Hellfire Ramen, a tonkotsu-based ramen served with their house spicy sauce, chili oil, pork shoulder, and a soft boiled egg. The broth was rich and flavorful, the spice level was perfect (quiet hot but still maintaining a good balance of flavors), and the pork shoulder was tender but still has a bit of nice toothsomeness. Overall, this was an excellent bowl of ramen comparable to any of the top spots in Denver. The only slight downside is that the broth was just a tough too salty for my liking, and I would've preferred a soy marinated egg over a soft boiled egg. They have other ramen here was well, such as a chicken-based shio ramen, a regular tonkotsu, and a Thai curry ramen. I definitely would return to try the other ramen. If the other items on this menu is as tasty, I wouldn't hesitate to give them 5 stars.

At least on this day, at this time. Chad and I got to the restaurant around 1:15 PM yesterday. There weren't many people at the establishment, maybe one other party inside and one outside. We were greeted fairly quickly and were seated by a lovely woman. She was very helpful and answered all of our questions about the menu, and was quick to give recommendations. We started with chips and salsa, and I ordered a Skinny Margarita. Yes, it's a little out of the ordinary to charge for chips and salsa, but I thought both were amazing. The salsa was fresh and really tasty (and tasted nothing like ketchup, which I despise). I've had a lot of horrible salsas; this was not horrible at all, and neither were the chips, crunchy and delicious, imo. The skinny margarita, which was $14, was huge and actually worth the cost. The lovely waitress gave me the Happy Hour cost of the margarita ($10) since we were paying right about when HH started (2 PM). Chad noticed that they had a Cheese Crispi (or just Cheese Crisp as we AZ folks like to call it), but we were pretty hungry and really just wanted meals. I got the Vegetarian Burrito and asked that it be smothered with the sour cream cheese sauce that I saw on another vegetarian dish, the Chimichanga de Hongos. I'm sure I put on a few pounds from that sauce alone, and it was 100% worth it! The entire dish was SO GOOD! Chad got the Expresso Burrito and couldn't even finish the whole thing, not for want of trying, though. I don't know if we had the good luck to come at a good/slow time, and that's why we had such a wonderful experience, but I almost felt like I was at a totally different restaurant than the one being reviewed here. When we are in the area again, Chad and I will definitely be visiting Fuego Azteca again and trying out the Cheese Crispi and the Deep Fried Ice Cream!

They've made constant improvements to make the patio more attractive (they even added a covered area for cold or rainy days.) I figured they had to do something right to attract enough customers for their breakfast burritos in order to buy a truck. I am so glad I finally visited El Mercado to try their breakfast burrito. It was by far the best I've had for a very long time. I actually had given up finding a very good one in Colorado. I had the chorizo, and my husband the bacon one. That burrito was so moist it melted in my mouth, it was the perfect balance of cheese (lots of it I assume), chorizo and whatever else they put in it. A sign also says that they now offer breakfast burritos all day.
