Today me and girl friend went on a long hike and looked for tacos enseda in the area and we found this one. We always go to tacos Ensenada from highland park to Duarte and always love their food. We went to this one expecting same result. not even close the octopus taste led gummy and smelled like rotten i addressed to the manager I would assume he was since the cashier told him to address the issue and he looked like he just rolled out bed horrible attitude his response does not smell bad because he cooked and the piece he grabs it and smells it and eats I didn't want to say anything but my girl friend spit it out and he ate it lol very unprofessional and says nothing is wrong with it and has the audacity to say would you like me to remove it I was not in the mood to argue and said no just give us another tostada of shrimp would be fine and he walks away thinking we can't hear him complaining on the back he cooked it lol. This is my second time eating at tacos Ensenada, and it was just as good as the first. After being horribly disappointed eating at El patron in Pasadena, I had to set my whole plate back. I was still a little bit hungry so we drove to tacos Ensenada where we previously ate and had a wonderful meal. I just ordered a fish taco to go, since it was recommended by another teen age diner. I figured these boys knew what food was good. How are you I ordered my taco and it was absolutely delicious. It was well seasoned, crispy, nice tortillas, and just enough Crema, pickled onions, and lemon. This is my 3rd time going to dine at this location, every time I've gone there's been something wrong with my food. Old cilantro, mushy tomatoes, stale rice, and many other issues with my meals. I'm not one to sit here and bash a location but what I experienced today was the final straw. I found many pieces of raw Asada (beef) in my burrito, at first I thought it was just pieces of fat but after taking a pice out of my mouth I realized it was a completely raw piece of Asada. I called the restaurant to inform them and all they could say was for me to return and get a new burrito and I didn't even receive a simple apology, the last thing I want is another burrito after finding so many pieces of raw meat. This is now my favorite Mexican joint in Altadena. You need to see the vinyl booths to believe them. I'm obsessed with the vinyl print they use. Food-wise, I've only tried one thing and I can't get off of this order. The carnitas burrito, mojado style (wet burrito). The salsa is pretty spicy - I'd say it's a medium in terms of spicy. I think I might ask to see if they can do a mild next time, but man is it tasty. I grab a little bowl of the sliced red onions they have at the self serve stand, I get my burrito which has a roast pulled pork in it (carnitas) that seriously tastes like cuban roast pork...with the onions at every bite, it just hits the spot so hard. The food is good and the service is trash. I called an order at 8:19 was told ten min for my order. Showed up at 8:30 paid cash and left a tip. By 8:43 they had served not one but three orders that showed up after I arrived and still hadn't started my burrito. Trash customers service. When I demanded a refund they got real apologetic and said it's on the house. So I can wait another 20 min to make it a 40 min burrito? Are you kidding me? I made sure I explained in English and Spanish so no one got it twisted that this not ok. But really the one star is for all the single use plastic. All the plates are foam and the silverware is plastic and its sad that climate change is not taken more seriously by this local business. But judging by the customer service the manager can't afford a dish washer so you get what you pay for. The food here is good, but they need to have someone at the register that is bilingual or able to speak and understand English. I went here and try to order, but the lady at the register didn't quite understand English. I was asking her what's inside their mix burrito, and she kept adding random things to my order. When she told me the total, I said, "that much for a burrito?" It was $45 for a single burrito. Thankfully, there was another patron there that was able to translate and to ask my questions about the burrito and translate her answer. I love eating at the Sierra Madre location - my go to place and close to home! I was on the other side of town, so I thought I'd give this location a shot. The location is a little on the shady side. I parked in the shared lot - I sometimes leave my door unlocked, but here I felt I needed to lock it. I entered and found it to be different from the one's I've been to. A much rougher feel. Not that it's bad, but just not what I was expecting. The food was great, just like any of the other locations. The gal who took my order wasn't very fluent in English, but she managed to get my order right. There aren't many places I feel uncomfortable eating at and this was one of the few times.
