Open less than two months. Fish taco Tuesday special is 99 cents. Gotta try that. Today, Thursday was the other street taco special for 99 cents - pastor, asada, pollo, carnitas. Got one of each. Asada was nice. Pollo was really tasty. Carnitas was too mushy. Pastor too salty. As with any taste test, a repeat is required. There will be future visits. Right in the parking lot of Super King. Indoor dining is available, but really limited. Service was fast and friendly. Designated parking spots really help this place in a parking lot that is a nightmare. The carne asada burrito was not good. The texture of the meat was so weird. It was like it was dried up then rehydrated. I could not get over the odd texture of the beef. Been a customer for a while at this location but today I ordered fish ceviche was old very refrigerated with a weird smell lemons, onions also old refrigerated not good time to eat from here these days they loose their quality. Tacos Ensenada is good- their asada torta is my favorite! There food has not let me down. Although their food is amazing I do not like how they take phone orders. Usually you make a phone order so when you get there the food is either ready or about to be ready- well here they make the food once you actually show up so it isn't even worth calling it in because they don't make the food until you get to the register. But other than that, Tacos Ensenada is pretty good! They have taco Tuesday's but it's SUPER packed through the door but overall I would say this place has good tasting good. read more

The food here is bomb! Well at least the one from Duarte has bomb food but it's the same place. Everything is clean and brand new, can't complain but the customer service here sucked. The cashier was kind of rude to my girlfriend when she asked what they had to drink and I was kinda shocked because it's a brand new place so why would anyone give someone bad service? Nope. She did. I am so happy this place joined the neighborhood. Altadena is largely a food desert, and while I am a fan of El Caporal, it's really nice to have another good local Mexican place. I've had the shrimp burrito, the asada, and the carnitas and they are all great. They won't blow your mind, but this isn't an area with terrific Mexican on every corner, and Ensenada has made the probably smart business decision to be as good as the neighborhood needs. Two complaints: 1) No salsa bar. I didn't know this was even possible. Seriously? And 2) They don't open until 10am on the weekends and that's a long time to wait for a hangover-mitigating breakfast burrito. Between Tacos Ensenda, Perry's Joint, and Lincoln, things are looking up for eating in West Altadena. Someone please open a good sushi place here and make my dreams come true. read more

I am so glad they opened a store near me! I love their fish tacos! The nights have been warmer since the rains brought a chill to the city. The worst. I have been to other locations and they have better standards when it comes to the food. By far the East LA location is the best in quality. We ordered cocktails and seafood tostadas. So let me tell you and save you the drive and money. Not worth the money spent at all. A Large Shrimp cocktail had 7 shrimp and the small had 3!!! The cups were filled with juice and diced tomatoes! The jaiva tostadas were terrible! the jaiva was old and hard and had so much tomatoes and onion. The tres ceviche tostada tasted old and the amount they serve is like you were asking for a handout. I don't like fish so why would I ask fish soup? I asked her to change it for the correct item. She asked her manager if she can change it and manager said NO because it is made to order!! Such BS!! I have been coming for years now, I do like the fish tacos. The food is inconsistent, however I have had better experiences most of the time. I have started to take my business to some of the other places because of the stingy salsa situation. I can have a 60 dollar order where the ladies up front think three small salsas would suffice. The younger girl has the best customer service and this complaint is not directed towards her. I went in today where the other ladies were there so I prepared myself for the salsa situation. I asked the lady at the end of the order how many salsas would I be given to where she replied 4. I would like two more and will pay for them. She added them to my order and I paid for them. When the food came the other lady who has horrible customer service put the salsas inside my bag. I told her that I needed two more and she put one more in my bag. I told her that I paid for it where she told me that my order only allowed for three salsas and it became an argument. What business is willing to argue over a paying customer for salsa. This happened in front of a bunch of other customers. It's funny because sometimes the salsas go sour. Why let the salsas go bad when you can give them to paying requesting customers. Furthermore, maybe put someone who knows how to respect people or give some type of normal customer service and not be disrespectful. read more

I love Tacos Ensenada and am familiar with the East LA and Duarte locations. I really like this location because it doesn't seem to get as crowded as the other two. It is kind of small on the inside, but they do have some outside seating. Their carnitas tacos ($1 on Thursdays), asada sope ($3), and shrimp tacos ($2.50 ea) are DELICIOUS!!!! I love their pickled red onions, they add so much flavor to the tacos. I will probably be here once a week for my taco fix, as it is only a 10 minute drive from my job. read more

They sell solid shrimp burritos which remind me of the style done down in San Diego. Big shrimp, great crema, and solid salsa. $7 for a truly hefty burrito anywhere in LA is great value.
