I ordered a tostada with crema on the side. It came with no crema, and no taste at all. This was my favorite tostada! I called to say there was no crema and I wanted to come get some crema or another tostada because usually it tastes great but I had asked for crema on the side and I wasn't sure if my request was understood. I was very nice about it, except then I was accused of being a racist!!!!!! People make mistakes on orders all the time, does that make it okay to call me a racist? No! You know who the racist was? The person Assuming it had something to do with race she doesn't know my race I just wanted cream for tostada on the side why is that racial it's called bad service and I said I really like that place I really want to go back to that place it made me kind of sad because I didn't get the great tostadas and she's just like right up with the racism card, really? I've tried this place once about 6 mons ago & again tonight & remembered why I had never gone back. The horchata is EXTREMELY watered down. It Sucks when you spend $3+ for an horchata that's so watered down you can see it from the coloring. And then you taste it. Very upsetting. I ordered 3 different sets of tacos & they all came with cilantro, onion, & red sauce. They should ask when you place the order if that's what you want on them. Maybe something like "con todo?" I have never gone to a taco truck or restaurant that doesn't ask!!!! On top of that they don't wrap them in foil but place them on wax papers in styrofoam containers that don't seal well. So by the time you get everything home it's a mess. So, so, disappointing. read more

I was lured here with the $1 fish tacos on taco Tuesdays. Fish taco was normal size and was very good! Came out crunchy and not all soggy and wasn't that long of a wait with at least 10 other people in front of me. Sides of onions, radish, lime, peppers, were good and fresh. Decided to try this place for lunch today. I walked in and the place was buzzing....people literally everywhere.. good sign right? And since it was my first time, I thought lets just do something easy that they can't mess up.. so I ordered regular steak quesadilla and was really disappointed..The meat was sooooo dry I thought it was going to get stuck in my throat and the beans were just as bad, they were tasteless and really taste like baby food.... The rice was not good either and looked like plain old white rice not the Mexican rice I'm used too. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this place at all. May I begin with my obsession for the FISH TACO TUESDAY !! Right amount of cream cabbage and pico de Gallo. Pairs perfectly with the sautéed yellow Chile's offered at the bar that also has onions & lemons. I've tried the shrimp cocktail, asada tacos, potato tacos, and everything was absolutely tasteful. Food is always good however it is in need of some management we were in this location to have dinner and they were already "closing" when it was only 8:30 pm, closing time is supposed to be 10 pm it is understandable when workers want to get ahead of the game but this seemed a bit early and on top of that we received extremely poor customer service, long faces and horrible attitude. This review is purely based on the seafood which is what this place specializes -Mexican seafood-Mariscos. The Ensenada style fish tacos & shrimp tacos were just like I remember them in Baja, Mex. You got to try the shrimp ceviche tostadas! And high marks on the shrimp cocktail. Paid a visit on a recent taco Tuesday night after work. The wait and line was a little long being Tuesday and peak dinner hours I guess. Place was a bit small so don't come with a large group. Ample parking but keep in mind there is Super King Market next door and other shops/restaurants. Fish tacos were ok, I wasn't wowed though. Salsas make a good taco, so try different ones till you find what you like. read more

I HATE this location. When you order over the phone they always take an hour to issue you the food. It NEVER fails. When you make your phone order at the location in Duarte they always have it ready, but for some reason in the Pasadena location they do not start it until you get there. The worse part is that they take their time, and act like it is such a chore to make you your food. The food is good, but it is not worth the hour wait. Worst taco shop in Pasadena, in my opinion. Meat on their Thursday .99 cents tacos tasted to me like it had gone bad and they tried to cover it up with seasoning. Fail. I've been going here for a few years and I've noticed that sometimes the food was bad, fish tacos soggy, carne asada tacos way too greasy. I finally had enough and asked them to remake my food and I caught out the corner of my eye, the kitchen staff guy picking up the foam container that had fallen on the dirty floor when they threw the old taco out. I didn't think anything of it at the time but apparently he felt some type of way and gave me my food done properly in a dirty container, really had dirt inside the container. The ladies at the counter are nice but the guy who did that, makes the whole kitchen staff and management and owners look like assholes and I don't give my hard earned money to assholes. Baja is known for their unique style of fish tacos and this place delivers! Very authentic Baja fish tacos and seafood cocktails... just like I remember as a kid. Come Tuesday for their fish taco night. It's really nice to have this place in the neighborhood because typically I'd have to drive out to Whittier or E. LA. Prices are great and the food is great. This is probably one of my favorite fish tacos spot. I brought my friend here who grew up in Ensenada and he has a hard time finding fish tacos Ensenada style. So he approved!! The tacos from Baja are made with homemade corn tortillas, but these are closest to Baja's fish tacos. They have their carne asada $1 tacos specials on Thursdays and .99 cents fish tacos on Tuesdays. Been here twice already. First time I had the tacos of carnitas and al pastor and loved them! I like how they have a little bar for add on's like onions, radish and limes. Then the second time I came I had a carne Asada burrito, full of flavor and love those big yellow Chile's they have there in that bar. They have great service. I guess the main girl that works there is on top of everything making sure you are having the best service. You guys definitely have to come and try it out for sure! We usually come with six guys bc we are coming for lunch from work, I mention this bc they are only tables for 4 ppl. So we split up but that's okay. We still enjoyed it a lot. Very ,very poor customer service had me waiting for over 30 minutes for 6 fish tacos. I went to the cashier and asked if my order was ready she said no. I went back to my seat. 10 min later she calls my number. My tacos had been sitting on the counter cold. I said why didn't you even check if those were mine. She stated "i didn't put them there so i don't know" I didn't want to eat cold tacos they said its ok ill change them for you. All they did was take a few minutes making me believe they will indeed going to give me fresh hot tacos. No they are cold. And they started laughing. I personally know the owner since he was working in commerce. I have never ever experience this type of rudeness from his employees. Should teach your staff better customer service. We happened to see this place while out running errands and since we were hungry and it was late we decided to give it a try. Walking in gave me anxiety but only because it was crowded and the place was small but again we were hungry so I stuck through it and I'm glad we did. After ordering food there was almost no wait time at all and the food smelled good and the other customers seemed happy with what they were eating as well. After getting home with our food we were happy to find exactly what we ordered and it tasted great I would definitely recommend and will gladly go back soon. Only reason I took off one star was it was a bit unorganized and cluttered which resulted in another customer cutting in front of me in line which isn't a big deal but for people like me who don't do good in small spaces it would help to have some organization. read more

this is my 2nd and last time going to this place. i give you 3 star for the food. and -5 for the customer service. the cashier name is Patricia. i went in, stood in front of her to order my food at the register. she never acknowledged me but she then (5 min later) looked up and said can i help you? i usually get mad at people like that. i remained calm and gave her a chance because it happens to everyone to have a bad day sometimes. but then i order my tacos, she charged me regular price for it instead of the Tuesday price. I work in Monrovia and would drive to Duarte every Tuesday for 20 fish tacos. I'd take them home for dinner and to my surprise one day on my way home from work, I noticed they opened one next to my house! Literally around the block...Love it!
