Tacos Ernesto's tacos are amazing. This bright building is in a neighborhood that will make you nervous. The tacos are worth it though. I have never dined in. I've always went through the drive through. It's tiny, especially the drive through. I can hardly get my van in there, but it's doable. I love the salsa. Oh, and I love the carne asada tacos. It comes with onions and cilantro. They give you plenty of lime! The rice and beans are pretty good too. Don't turn your nose up at this little place with bars on the window. This is NOT corporate Mexican food. It was great and the price was right. The chips were warm and fresh. The salsa was nice a spicy with lots of cilantro (just they way I like it). My wife got the sopas and I got the bistek a la Mexicana o asado con arrozy frijoles. The sopas were awesome. Mine was nice and spicy, with plenty of steak, sauteed onions, bell peppers and some tomatoes thrown in for good measure. They didn't short it on jalapenos. A cold beer would have been nice to cut the heat, but alas, I had to settle for iced tea (they don't serve beer). If we are in the area, we will definitely go back. This is a cash only little piece of heaven right off the Hemphill corridor in south Fort Worth. The three taco plate is the best in the city. Your choice of meat (beef for me) with onions, cilantro and a lime doubled wrapped in a handmade corn tortilla. The plate comes with beans and rice although I get double rice myself. The rice is great, moist and fresh, no matter when you show up. I have had co-workers say the beans are great and so are the nachos but when you go, go for the tacos. They have also been running these tacos for a $1.00 each from 4-7 pm, can't beat that. Enjoy! read more

Showed up at Taco's Ernesto for breakfast after driving past it going to work and going back home for years and it wasn't bad. I tried their Migas and has great. Migas are eggs with strips of fried corn tortillas strip in them with a green salsa, re-fried beans and potatoes on the side. As you are waiting for your order they bring you salsa and chips. For drinks they have your Mexican soda-pop: Coca-cola, Fanta, Apple, also hochata, agua de melon, lemonade. I order a cup of coffee and was surprised it came with powder creamer (I'm not a fan of) sugar and sweeteners. Food was fresh, food was made when you ordered and it was great the green salsa on the migas and the potatoes were cooked like diner potatoes, yum, the bean were beans good. Even thou the coffee was small the host/waiter keep my coffee cup filled. The restaurant is small, reminds me of one of my favorite restaurant back home. First of all let me start by saying I love the food and I normally don't have any complaints. Last night at dinner here my daughter found a hair in her rice. We tell the waitress and she says "It's not our fault, our guys have short hair!!!" My husband says "What?" "What are you gonna do about it?" She said "I'm going to take the plate, do you want another one?" My daughter asked for just the tacos, so the waitress brought her 2 tacos, only 2 because she said "she ate the other one"...and that's the last we saw of the waitress...she ignored us the rest of the night. Saw all the stars and figured I would give it a try. It was horrible. Service was meh, and the food tasted old and with out flavor. I got the flautas which had they had more flavor it would have been ok. My husband and I got tacos. There were bones or cartilage in the asada, and my husband got tacos. The free chips and salsa are pretty good--the chips were fresh and the homemade salsa was yeah, homemade; had a kick but not face-burningly so. Ordered the burrito with barbacoa; the burrito came with rice and beans on the side. I normally don't like refried beans, but theirs is pretty good for some reason. About the rest of the food, there's just something about Ernesto's tacos and burritos and all their food in general--it's so cheap yet so tasty and well-portioned, I dunno how they do it. The barbacoa was mad tasty and moist, the tortilla was fresh/totally not stale, etc. Everything was the way it should be and so can't complain. I've dined in, carried out, and used the drive-thru. I think you get the best result if you dine in, but the food is delicious no matter what! I have two words: Breakfast. Tacos. The menu is slightly complicated to read, doesn't really have a flow, but eventually you'll grasp it. Everything is so well seasoned and flavorful. This is a burrito review- freaking amazing burritos at a great price! I challenge you to find better. I have been going to Ernesto's for years whenever I want some Mexican comfort food! I also once ordered a smorgasbord of burritos (breakfast and non) for a work breakfast. They were very accommodating to what I needed and even had them prepared for me before their hours of operation. And I will repeat-at a great price. My favorite authentic little hole in the wall taqueria I have found in Fort Worth! The family is so friendly, the service is wonderful, the barbacoa and salsa are both amazing (I pretty much judge Mexican places solely by their salsa and barbacoa). :D And yes the horchata is wonderful too! Today I had 3 beef tacos with white onion and both the red and green sauces and a lime wedge for juice for each one as well. I know they don't take Credit cards, but that's not a problem for me.
