The red salsa is great and it has been consistent for many years . We like to order the steak quesadillas. It comes with a grilled onion , a pickled jalapeño,sour cream, and red salsa . I unexpectedly discovered this unassuming taco truck that is conveniently located right of I-80 from the Tennessee exit and wow was i impressed by the one pollo and two carnitas tacos that I ordered. The pollo was juicy and flavorful and the carnitas were crispy and tasty - perfection. They add some lettuce to the traditional cilantro and onion toppings, which I found to be a surprisingly nice touch and I love the grilled pearl onions and jalapeño served on the side. The ambience is spot on wonderful since Tacos Mexico is located near the front of a grocery outlet in a parking lot - near perfect conditions for a solid taco truck. The service was friendly and despite being quite busy, my tacos came out quickly. The only bummer is that the tacos are a little pricey, at $3.50 each, but they don't skip on quantities or quality, so figure they are worth the escalating price. Thanks inflation (you know who you are) I'm certainly not blaming the owners. I'll definitely be back and I'm looking forward to trying more taco trucks in the Vallejo area. read more

The food here never disappoints. Today I had the super birria burrito. It was only $12. It also comes with some chips and salsa. The burrito was a really good size. With your burrito, they also give you a side of tortilla chips. Their burritos are large in size. My go-to meats in my burritos are usually carne asada or carnitas. ***3.5 Stars*** The carne asada tacos go crazy. Mm mm mmm, soooo bomb. That's where it's at. Authentic tasting street tacos that will have you sweating up a storm if you like 'em hawt n' spicy. It's that "slightly hoodish so you know it's goodish" kinda vibe. Hit up this truck with a friend not too long ago, and the carne asada tacos really impressed. The carnitas burrito and tacos were average, but I would still come back for those carne asada tacos alone. This truck is located right off of the freeway (Admiral Callaghan) in the Grocery Outlet parking lot. It's definitely a popular truck and people were waiting in line to order (not a super long line, but they do have some fans). I ordered 3 carne asada and 2 carnitas tacos, and my friend ordered a carnitas burrito. The tacos are cheap at $1.50 a piece ($2.00 for asada, lengua, and tripa) and it's cash only. They'll ask you if you want mild or hot salsa. I made the mistake of getting all hot salsa because I have a higher tolerance for hot and spicy foods. Well, at least I THOUGHT I did. Sh*t was so hawt that beads of sweat started forming on my forehead as I was eating these suckas on the couch! Like haaaawt! Now don't get me wrong... it was delicious! BUT... if you can't take the heat, don't do it. The carne asada tacos were dynamite. The meat was spiced up so nicely. It was nice and tender too. The only thing that I found weird was that they put lettuce on their street tacos. Hmm... never seen that before. But for some reason, it was oddly refreshing and I liked it. You can always ask them to prepare it without the lettuce, but I just left it as is since this was my first time at this truck. The carnitas tacos were decent but the meat wasn't as flavorful as the asada. Plus, I like my carnitas really crispy and this consistency was more like a broiled style. Not my favorite. My friend wasn't a huge fan of the carnitas burrito either. I tried some of it and I thought it was just okay. It actually didn't seem to have much meat in there. It was a nice size though. One thing I'll mention is that there were some sketch characters hanging around that parking lot. This isn't the fault of the truck, but just be mindful. They were pretty quick with our order, so luckily we weren't waiting there for too long. All in all, it's a solid spot for street tacos. Amazing tacos, quesadillas, and quesabrrias! This is absolutely my go to place for bomb Mexican food in Northern California, hands down the best when it comes to quesabirrias and quesadillas. Whatever local favorite spot you thought you had before coming here, you'll have to call them to let them know you have a new favorite spot and it's this taco truck!! The quesadillas with carne asada are grilled to order so when you get your food it will be a nice mix of gooey cheese goodness with a mouth watering crunchy bite from the tortilla. This is exactly what a quesadilla should taste like when you're craving Mexican food. It's even better with the sour cream and salsa and I have a tough time eating slowly because it's just so good! One thing I will say is nothing this delicious comes free, and so you'll find that the quesadilla is very oily and you may want to wipe it down a bit if you're not into that. The tacos are also insanely good, the meat is obviously fresh and the tortillas are cooked just enough to have a little crunch, but not so much that it becomes hard to chew. For the reasonable price of two dollars it comes loaded with veggies and condiments too. I usually get the quesabirria taco or birria quesadilla, which comes with a special side sauce called consome. You only get the consome with the quesadilla version, but these things are amazing on their own. It's hard to describe this dish if you've never had it, but it's sort of like a mix of a quesadilla, taco, and enchilada and served with a brisket style meat. It's not too spicy for me at least so I usually dip in the consome or the salsas they have to give it a little extra punch. But definitely the best tasting bite is when I've dipped in the sour cream, which is probably the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. :D All of the food here is always served hot and made to order, and I've only ever had a rough experience when they get a little busier since this is sort of local hot spot. Other than that the only qualms I have are with the set up, since it's a taco truck there aren't any bathrooms or tables to sit and eat, so you'll have to eat in your car if you want it fresh. It's also cash only so if you don't have any then you'll have to go the one of the stores nearby to use the atm. Finally the location is a little bit sketchy and I probably would feel super safe at night here. But these things are what make this place the special local gem that it is. If it were too easy then you'd have thousands of people coming here every day to get a bite of real authentic gooey deliciousness! :p If you want to change your life and put your soul at peace with delicious food then this is the place! read more

For my visit, the tortillas were more like tostadas, the meat had too many fatty pieces and was not seasoned well and I didn't even realize they added lettuce on top of the tacos if not I would have requested no lettuce. HIDDEN GEM. I'm from the city but I gotta say that this place serves the best tacos and quesadilla that I've ever had! The tortillas for the tacos are perfectly crispy and the meat is juicy and flavorful. I asked for their hot sauce on top of the tacos. My take: this food truck is located in front of Val's liquor store so there is no ambience. The service was good. I ordered three tacos for $10. I gave her a 20 she gave me back a $10 bill. She has the opportunity to make a tip, but needs to get back some change I did tip and she was very grateful. Food: they have a special three queso birria tacos for $10 first the consommé was too thick and just ok. The meat was fresh and there was a lot of cheese in my tacos which is great. One of my favorite taco trucks in Vallejo. When my fam and I crave tripa tacos this is our spot. I prefer my tacos with no lettuce but they always taste delicious!!
