Yum! We stopped for lunch before heading to Four Rivers Cultural Center in Ontario and found great reviews for Tacos Mi Ranchito. We decided to try it and were greatly surprised to find a long line inside the door of the restaurant, waiting to place orders. A sign of good food, methinks! And it was delicious. I had the best chile rellenos I'd ever eaten, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his enchiladas verde. The people behind the counter were so busy keeping up with the orders, and yet were patient and pleasant with everyone. Good job, Tacos Mi Ranchito! Highly recommended! read more

Wow! So glad we came this way. The food was fresh, delicious and generously portioned. Staff helpful and friendly. Lengua burrito was excellent. Salsas were nicely spicy and really flavourful- even the hot one. Bathrooms were super clean. This will now become a regular detour. Great find! read more

I went here again last evening (a Sunday, when they close at 6PM). There was a long line, which moved quickly. I ordered the Shrimp Burrito ($7.95, as I recall). The burrito is made with large breaded and deep fried shrimp. I asked them to "load it up" with every add-in they had (guacamole, sour cream, and the like). Man-O-Man! It was huge. I stopped because Yelpers give this place 4.5 stars. All the ingredients were fresh. The beans were refried very nicely, the flavor profile was simple. The beans tasted like... well... beans. The rice was light and flaky, the texture of steamed rice, would have gone very well with a French cream sauce and seafood, but of course could not compete with the dominating Verde sauce on the Enchiladas next to it. All the food items were assembled on a plate together, then microwaved. The meal was certainly hot, but it was not caramelized by the flame of a broiler. On the recommendation of other yelpers, I tried the shrimp tacos. They were great! Lightly breaded and fried big shrimp, plus all the fixings (including guacamole) for just $2.50 per taco! Nan: the food was fresh, fast and the service friendly. The salsa was fantastic, everything was right there in front of you. Would definitely eat here again. On a weekly basis, it's a keeper! I might try those big burritos next time, I bet they're a gutbuster! Nic: I can't believe you said the salsa was fantastic. It was way too spicy, and you knew that, but you still ordered it. The only reason this is a 3 star rather than higher is because they heat the green salsa in styrofoam in the microwave. Major leaching of toxins into sauce. And they heat your full meal in the microwave. Otherwise, the food tastes good and the prices are great. read more

Excellent burritos. Being from central California, I know my mexican food. This is as close as it gets to true authentic mexican cuisine. Look around you, when you see Mexicans eating in a Mexican restaurant, chances are it's the real deal. We tried another mexican restaurant down the street and it was full of older white folk. Awesome Mexican food. The menu has the option for a cheap vegetarian burrito which cost $6. Very good (exceptional) tortilla and good flavor. The line during lunch time required a super long wait. You can't fault them for making great food with low prices but it did take some time. One downside is that I wish there were some fresh hot sauces made available besides the jarred hot sauce, as I love to drench my burritos. Would return for sure read more

Friends, if you're in this neck of the woods, you must stop in. We're on a road trip and needed sustenance. Found this gem on Yelp. My wife has lived down in Mexico and her comment after eating was, "This is the best Mexican food I've had in the US." It's less than 5 minutes off the highway and has parking around back ample enough for our Suburban and trailer. Bonus! You order at the counter and they make it in front of you to your liking. Plenty of seating once you have your grub. The food... Between the 4 of us, we had a chicken quesadilla, lengua tacos, carnitas burrito, and a chicken tostada. This is where I would usually wax lyrical about the virtues of the cuisine, but this wasn't fancy. It was simple perfection. From the tortillas to the guacamole, the ingredients are all quality and fresh. The portions were ample. The flavors are authentic and delicious. And the prices? We spent a whopping $28 to feed a family of 4. Worth every penny. I may need to find excuses to be on I84 in Oregon again soon. read more

In the ways that make sense to rate them... quantity, quality, flavor, courtesy, cleanliness, etc... So if I'm going by value & service, I think they were a solid 5. However... I don't think this spot was as good as some of the least favorite places I've sampled. Again, it's just personal prefs and nothing directly relating to the quality and flavor of the food here. But I don't enjoy when my bean & cheese burrito falls apart and runs out the back end of the tortilla. I have certainly had better tacos, as well. And for less money. I did enjoy the torta though. That's a new adventure. I can't really compare it to any other, as it was my first ever. I certainly don't mean to speak disparagingly of this place. But I often pick places to eat (especially away from home) based on what I hope are objective reviews by others. So I figure more detail is better. I just didn't like the wimpy little taco and runny burrito I was given. The place was quite busy, but the service was prompt and the area was clean. Give this place a try, if you haven't. They have plenty of seating, a television or two, reasonably good food, and cold coke in the bottles. :) Some note: Don't shop at Gentry Ford. There are a few dishonest folks there. Absolute best mexican food in the area. Great food and great prices too. Everything is made right in front of you kind of like subway except authentic mexican food instead of sandwiches. I highly recommend!!! I ordered shrimp tacos combo plate which came with beans,rice,and chips, and the enchilada verde plate that had two enchiladas with beans,rice,and chips. Stopped in here for a quick to-go dinner on my way out of town! Not only was it quick, but it was delicious! I like to think of this place as a family-owned, Chipotle with less line options but great quality ingredients. Don't get me wrong, I love chipotle..but I love this place too.
