So I got off of work and was having a craving for some good tacos. In the past, I had done research to find good tacos near me. Since we had just moved to this area. One of the taco places that I found on yelp was this taco place. I must say, I regret trying this place. This has to be the worst taco place I've ever eaten at. To start, I ordered the sope combo(beans and rice included). Very disappointed with the sopes, they didn't have any cheese. Cheese is the staple of the sope. After having the sope, I had a taco de asada and a taco de adobada. Wow, these tacos sucked! And let me tell you, worst tacos I've ever had. They offer red and green salsa. And by the way, they both suck. Both salsas were bland. And to top it off, they only give you 2 salsas per order. I can't imagine why anyone would eat here. Never coming back..... read more

Came here last week because my son and I were in the area and I had a restaurant.com certificate. I placed my order and when I go to pay (over $30) the guy tells me that I can't use my ($10) certificate. He gave me some bull about how they just got a "new system" and its not set up to accept certificates anymore. Lies. Just a way to get people in the door. tried this place out because i purchased a Restaurant.com certificate and I will definitely be coming back. Ordered asada fries, a sopes combo plate, and asada tacos, and the asada was not at all fatty like mentioned in other reviews. Rice and beans were really good. Hidden gem. Wanted tacos after a round of golf. So my friend and I headed to Tacos Omanas after picking from yelp reviews. This place is behind a Chinese restaurant and has ample parking (both of us drove). I got the all meat burrito with beef, fresh onions, cilantro and green salsa. HANDS DOWN the best burrito I ever had. The quality and favor of the meat was just perfection. Combined with crisp onions, fresh cilantro and salsa, it made my mouth crave more with every bite. My belly was craving a breakfast burrito post my gym workout and I came to the right place. First off, service was excellent. The past few times I've been here for lunch and dinner, the staff has been prompt and courteous. I ordered the chili relleno breakfast burrito (first timer) and it satisfied all my cravings and more. The chili, the cheese, the egg, the beans and salsa just melt in your mouth with an explosion of flavor. Highly recommend it. Also, the chips and salsa verde were a perfect side! We used to enjoy the Omanas in South El Monte but it is now in renovation - so we now go to this one in Covina and always get their Chili Verde Burrito - Delicious! Be careful of who rings you up here I have been severely over charged on items I frequently buy. It's only one of their workers but every time he rings me up I just leave because something that is 6 dollars it suddenly 11. And for the food it is horribly greasy. Honestly, gross . It was salty meat! And my burrito was literally 2/3 beans and 1/3 asada . No cilantro, or onions or anything .

My family and I were there for the first time today and we will not return. We ordered a small order of nachos and chiles rellenos. Whoever the guy at the counter was had excellent "customer service" (is there a more clever way to tell you that one) ... he made small talk, part us extra chips, and just seemed to be so happy for being at work. His energy literally just made me happy. Oh yeah, and the food ... I guess that's important for these reviews too. It was bomb diggity. Whatever the sauce they put on my shrimp taco was super delicious, it added a whole rich flavor I wasn't expected. Classic tacos with a little flare. The shrimp was my favorite but the others were good too. We went last Monday 8/15/16 because the add in Covina Magazine said Taco Monday & Taco Tues. $1.25. which was a good price. Oh well not on that Monday * false advertising * she told us no only on Tuesdays. I have a few pictures to post to prove it. This is the first time that Yelp was wrong. The food was not good. Rice & beans are good but I ordered a Chile Relleno plate. I could only eat the beans & rice. Look at the pictures it will show A fried egg around a chili. Sorry thats not authentic thats lazy. Uggghhhh, why do they do this, lol. I love this place, but I must be honest and state that some of the previous reviews are correct as a hair has been found in two of my recent orders. I do lunch here often; as my co-worker picks up and brings back to work for us to eat - which side note, I hate because I do not get my "check-in's" lol. Lately, the food has been great, but the last two orders we have each experience a hair in our tacos. I love Omanas, as one of my tips - I have stated that I have been going to the El Monte location since I was a kid with my father, and have been so happy that they opened one near home/work in Covina. The service is just not the same as the El Monte location, usually someone different always, and my order is never consistent. I do hope they make some changes, so I can continue to go because I really do enjoy their Carnitas Burritos and Carne Asada Tacos! read more

Venue: This restaurant is located in a little shopping center, which is nice, because it has its own parking lot.There is very limited indoor seating as well. It is a very clean and spacious venue and very well lit. Food: I got a vegetarian burrito. Build your own style. The only vegetarian burrito option was a bean burrito, but she let me add whatever I wanted. It was huge !!!! Not my favorite, but tasty. My boyfriend said that the carne asada tacos were better than the burrito. The Jamaica was good, not super sugary like other places. Service: The service was great. Love the service and family that works here! Clean and tidy cozy shop unfortunately tucked away in a corner, but hey that's where all the best food usually is! The sauces are great and the meat tastes good. The fish is fried, not grilled, but they do give you a grilled shrimp option :). I came here on a random Tuesday for a taco Tuesday. I initially went to El Torito but now they have a new rule in effect that you have to buy a drink on top of their one dollar 25 tacos. In the past they used to be a dollar anyway. So I looked on yelp and I found this spot that had 4 1/2 stars. They seem to have some good reviews about the Carne asada so me and my boyfriend went and try it instead. I'm so glad we did. Carne asada tacos are amazing. Tacos are $1 25 each and they are just to die for. Everything is made from scratch so you know it's got some really good flavor to it. I'll definitely come back. Glad this place opened up close to work! Have been greeted with a friendly hello and also been offered free chips and beans for waiting a few minutes to order. If you couldn't guess from the name, this place makes great tacos. I prefer the tacos dorados... Getting hungry just thinking about it!!! They serve the usual meat offerings you would expect like carne asada, chicken, etc. but they also offer potato tacos on Friday (during Lent) and also have some really good shrimp tacos. I haven't tried their burritos yet but their tacos, rice and beans were really good. Chips are made at the restaurant and have had some good and bad experiences. I prefer my chips crunchy, I once got an order that seemed like it was taken out to soon. This is a must visit place for all you Covina residents! You won't be disappointed! read more
