I dropped by because I was driving through and hungry. I came in at about 12:30 and it was empty...which should have been a sign. I ordered a shrimp burrito and it was served quickly. It was large and about 90% rice, 3 shrimp, a little bit of sour cream in the last 2 bites, maybe a very little bit of salsa. Nothing else that I could detect. I didn't even taste beans in it. It was the most bland burrito I've ever had. So bad I had to check out my credit card statement today to review them before I forgot. Question is Taqueria Los Cerros and Los Cerros in El Sobrante owned by same owners? I give them a 5 because I just ordered their enchilada plate and their sauce is good their salsa has sweet flavor if you like that and the beans are bomb. I think burritos are not the same as the gigantic burritos we used to get back in the day, so for anyone to rate them on burritos is out of line, all burritos nowadays are skimpy unless I go to Oak or Sf to East 14th or the Mission. But I never had a problem with the food and the people are nice, be mindful how you rate places, I don't think they deserve a 2.0. If you're complaining about price remember who you voted for, because inflation is a bitch esp for small business restaurant owners. read more

Not a lot to say. Rude woman, cashier, rep, cook, manager idk-let's call her Miss Server. I'd seen this tiny restaurant before and wanted to try it. I walked in, and I was greeting by one of two ladies behind the tiny counter. I was looking up at a menu on wall to help make a decision-and she, Miss Server w frompy face and brows frowed, as if agitated BY ME said "May I help you?" The place was completely empty-yet the servers face was giving "Hurry TF up" So I blurt "I'll have a burrito, large" "What kind?" She countered "Oh, uh, I don't know, uh, beef?" "Carne" "Okay" "That'll be $15 and-" I handed her a $20 and she quickly issued c h a n g e. I heard nothing after that overpriced total. I couldn't check and balance, I didn't have a menu. I sat and waited. And watched as a group walked in to pick up their order. I immediately turn my attention to Miss Server-instinctively to see if they got the rude treatment. No. Miss Server was smiling the toothiest smile to this group as they checked their pickup and confirmed their purchases. But as quickly as they arrived, they began heading out. Miss Server's toothy goodbye landed on deaf ears as THEY rudely exited ignoring her, talking and laughing loudly amongst themselves. It was like they left her high 5 hanging dust dry! She had an embarrassed face. Instant karma-they were to her as she was to me. Odd, but satisfying. After 15 minutes my order was ready. Miss Server handed me the bag, slightly more pleasant face-but all in all rude, or short, or disengaged I dunno. The $20 Carne Asada Super Burrito was regular sized and underwhelming. I'd had it cut in half and still could NOT distinguish extra guacamole, no sour cream, light rice because it was all brown and shades of brown. It was not the super burrito that I'd been craving. I figured I would get a Carne Asada Super Burrito to Tied me over!!! So I walked in like a Boss and Ordered a Carne Asada Super Burrito!!! It came out to $13 dollars approximately!! I received my Super Burrito 10 minutes later!! It was Disappointingly Small!!!! I have gotten bigger Burritos at Taco Bell for a Third of the Price!!! With a lot more ingredients also. Well we used to go in here all the time and a lot has changed since then. I'm no longer in a relationship and now everything's different when I come here so sad... I used to come here for burritos and was overall happy with my visits. Before I did yelp of course. Today I went in and the prices kept changing when she was telling me how much the items were. Maybe we were both confused but she told me at first it was $10 for a pint of rice & $10 for a pint of beans ... then she said it was $6 dollars for a pint each. I didn't think menu prices fluctuated. Not a terrible place but I looked at the menu and it said around four dollars for a side. Maybe I was misunderstanding the price of the pint. But to my understanding it said on the menu sides of rice and beans $4 something. I paid $6 each .... The beans are amazing probably the best beans I've found anywhere ! I just don't wanna be over charged that's not fair :( . We never used to be so maybe this was a misunderstanding once again. I'm not sure but I'm sad. Would definitely come back for the beans !! If you finish a nice, brisk walk around Point Pinole and are ready to rejoice from the exploding fireworks you see on your FitBit watch, I suggest not coming here afterward as it's more a place you come to after finishing off a six-pack in the Hilltop parking lot. Jamie W. and I were looking for a late afternoon nosh, and neither of us knew much about the Pinole dining scene assuming there is one. I wanted this place to be better. Tried it a good half dozen times, and the final consensus is one star. Food: It's not bad, but the portions are small and it's by design. The place is stingy. I literally received 5 chips for the chips and salsa that came with my burrito, it was laughable like a portion you would serve a baby who's just getting started on solid food. Don't let the chips in the background of the burrito pic fool you, I paid extra for those.....Super burrito: small not super. Super Nachos: again small portion like one layer of chips deep on a plate no fork required to clean the plate. Service: Well you'd figure if you were getting slighted on the portions you'd at least get service with a smile right? Nope not here. The lady who takes your order literally does not speak. You tell her what you want as she looks at you with a face like her stomach hurts and then you go sit down. She brings your food with the same stank face and puts it on your table and walks away. If you need anything good luck, she won't ask and she's not even to be seen normally she's in the back with the cook doing whatever they do. Bathroom: Well at least the bathroom is cool right? Taueria Los Cerros is the other restaurant we hit after a long day of pistol competition at the range. TLC have good selection and their food is good. I do like that the chips that arrives are always hot and fresh. I usually order their combination plate. As of latest, I tried their Steak Fajita. The steak has good flavor and surprisingly, I would also give a nod to the beans (yes!) as well. The rest of the accoutrement were okay, typical of a Mexican restaurant. Yummy super burritos, quick service, and spacious venue. Whenever I come here, I always get a kick out of the carne asada super burritos. It's not like how it used to be, but it's still pretty delicious. I like how this place is around the Richmond Parkway area, so it's convenient if you're craving Mexican food around Richmond/San Pablo but don't want to head down the hill to search for more Mexican food, haha. I ended up having lunch here more or less by accident. I had intended to go to Sala Thai, next door in a strip mall; but it turned out that Sala is not open for lunch on Saturdays. I had noticed the taqueria many times on visits to Sala, but this was my first time to try them. Taqueria Los Cerros is a small place with indoor and covered outdoor seating. Flatscreen TV tuned to Liga Mexicana soccer; presumably in Spanish, but the sound was kept so low that it wouldn't have made any difference if it had been broadcast in Old Church Slavonic with a thick Tibetan accent. Food is ordered at a counter, but delivered to the table. Commercial chips and a very mild salsa came at once; and my entrée, though obviously prepared to order, came out pretty promptly. The menu is very standard Mexican fare. I chose a shrimp burrito: in a large wheat tortilla, with lots of beans and rice but a fairly small complement of shrimp, and not very spicy. However, there's a five-item salsa bar, which I relied on to liven things up. A couple of oddities: I had to ask for a small bowl for the salsa bar, and the cashier/server seemed surprised that I asked for a fork and knife. What, are burritos finger food now? Beverages include a few very predictable beers, and some interesting Mexican sodas. All things considered, nothing distinctive or memorable, but perfectly okay if you're in the area. read more

Never ordering from this place again. If the food is going to be average, then at least have excellent customer service to make up for it. I ordered to go a taco salad with no rice but with extra black beans, and a regular shrimp burrito. When I got home there was rice in my taco salad and my wife had no rice in her shrimp burrito... ok. So I drive back and I explain to the lady at the counter that they messed up my order and I would like it right. She even checked my order and saw they messed up. She remakes my taco salad but she gave me a hard time about remaking the burrito. She said they couldn't remake the burrito because they would have to toss the original one? What? And? So? Said we ate half of it already, which, to me, wasn't true. As soon as we noticed the mistake I took it back right away. We weren't trying to cheat them - I just wanted what I asked and paid for. I'm like no, and then she says she'll put the rice in the already made burrito? What? I said forget it. They eventually remade the burrito with my taco salad. When I get home the taco salad looks like sh*t like they didn't give AF and it was the wrong beans (refried instead of black). Man, really? Food, not so good and overpriced. :-(( I told the lady I wanted a carnitas taco with just carnitas, cheese and avocado.... nothing else. She repeated it back twice incorrectly. I said no and repeated my request. It came with carnitas, sour cream, guacamole sauce and some green plants. Nothing what I ordered but I felt it was useless to send it back. When the lady came back asking if everything was OK, I told her no, the taco was not what I ordered, the avocado was missing and guacamole sauce was substituted. Not a good taco. The chili relleno was smothered in Ranchero Sauce. At first I thought I would have preferred a little less of it, there wasn't a drop left on the plate when I was done. The pepper was very tasty. So often, even when the chili has been roasted, they are reheated in a microwave, but not here. This one was heated on the grill and that really enhanced the flavors. On my first visit the chips were a bit stale, and as much as I like fresh chips and salsa, I was able to over look this because I did enjoy the relleno. I went here last week the service was great fast and friendly.I ordered tacos to play it safe they were o.k. but on the pricey side compare to other locations. My friend ordered "Flautas" and this is the reason why I gave it 2 Stars they were NOT flautas they were those frozen taquitos that you can purchase at your local grocery. The 2 stars because they ripped her off big time for her plate and the tacos were not very good either. I come to talaria Los Cerros all the time. It is near the Richmond Rod and Gun Club where I shoot pistols on most weekends. The food is freshly made with tasty ingredients . I always have fast friendly service. The prices are reasonable . Sometimes the owner is here working and She us making Shure the customers are taken care of. read more

Today I ordered a super burrito...in my burrito there is (and currently standing, b/c it's in the garbage) crunchy rice, beans, jalapeños (that was a request), CARROTS (wtf), hardly any sour cream, they said cheese is in there, idk where it is...AND THATS IT!!!
