We visited yesterday and unfortunately our order was partially canceled due to them not having enough ingredients for the coctel in their menu , and then 4 of our tacos were the wrong order and my daughter was left with no food (they accidentally gave us an order with crazy hot salsa doused all over the food). It was the longest day of the year (aka summer solstice) and it was also going to be the hottest day of the week. What does that equal? My intense craving for tacos! We love TS and the OG Oakland location was too far for us to drive in the heat so we opted to try a different location. To our surprise, they have a spot near the UC Berkeley campus!! Like an actual storefront vs. the food trucks that we've been visiting all these months. Who knew!!? Food: 4/5 - still my favorite taco spot in the East Bay BUT taking one star off because the quesadilla was too oily for my liking. The tacos are 5/5 for me! Service: 3/5 - they forgot to add salsa and a few other requests we made. It was HOT inside and the workers didn't look so happy (I can't blame them) and we didn't check before leaving. May be a hit or miss. Location: 5/5 - compared to their OG Oakland location, there's a lot of street parking and there's multiple parking garages nearby. It's also close to BART and the bus. Only top tier tacos here! Tacos Sinaloa makes it day 7 of #BRWToGo. It's been an awesome week, and I needed to include Mexican to these last days of my Berkeley week experience. Though they don't have a menu online, you can go in and call ahead. I'm not sure where it is, but I heard they also have a Taco Truck. Their menu has the essential: tacos, burritos and aguas frescas. They also offer vegetarian menu At any Mexican spot, you gotta try out the Tacos! And they were spot on here! I went with 2 asada and 1 al pastor. Tacos include onions, cilantro and some sauce. Xtra sauce in the side as well. They also include hot peppers and rebanadas on the side. I was tempted to get a burrito, but I'm sure that wouldn't be a let down if I did get it. Tacos Sinaloa is my go-to spot for Mexican food in the south side area. Food is consistently good, and the portions for the burritos and burrito bowls are quite generous for the price. Tip: Download snackpass (most places in the south side and some downtown restaurants also use the app) for discounts such as buy 4 get 1 taco free on Tuesdays, and 20% off burritos from 2-5 PM daily. I recommend the carne asada and al pastor if you're ordering meat. Sure, the al pastor isn't carved off a trompo and it may be a little too sweet for people, but I love the sweet/savory flavor and the onions that are mixed in with the meat. The carne asada has a nice charred flavor, and overall is a safe choice. The seafood cocteles are also good. They use their small and large drink cups and fill them up, giving some tostada chips on the side. Shrimps here are huge. Only knock is that I ordered the shrimp and octopus and there was no octopus even though it was listed on the receipt and no one working told me anything. read more

Best carnitas I've ever had. They put the carnitas on the grill and they turn crispy without getting dry. The regular burrito with carnitas is delicious with the melted cheese and rice and beans. The al pastor is pretty good too. Spicy with good flavor. The tacos are a bit expensive ($2.75 each) but you get a lot of meat and they are a bit larger than usual street tacos. I like how they grill the tacos and meat to perfection. They even grill the burritos so it's nice and toasted. The pickled veggies on the side are great, the jalapeños are spicy and the carrots and radish are refreshing. I like getting strawberry horchata, they mix the fresa agua fresca with their horchata. I've gotten the shrimp tostada and fish taco before but I'd pass on those. The fish is grilled rather than fried like in most fish tacos. The carnitas is definitely the star at this place. read more

Honestly probably one of my favorite places to eat in Berkeley! I started coming here my freshman year after people highly recommended the fish tacos and burritos to me. I'm not too big of a taco person but the fish burrito is AMAZING and I can literally have it any day. It's around a $13 dollar burrito which seems a bit much up front, but the burrito is huge (1.5 to 2 meals for me usually). I typically order from them via Snackpass and I don't think I've ever had an issue with it. They just put your order on this shelf that they have near the door, and you can go in and pick it up quickly. The last time I ordered, they even gave me a free large horchata because someone forgot to pick up their order and left their drink on the shelf. They're pretty busy normally (the line and ordering in-person are annoying to deal with) so I would definitely recommend ordering through Snackpass. Only $2/taco for one of, if not the best carnitas I've ever had - golden brown and crispy on the outside, super juicy and flavorful on the inside. They have a specialty meat section with tripe, lengua, shrimp, fish etc for 50 cents extra per taco ($1-2 extra for burritos/bowls/tostadas) and Taco Tuesday is B4GO! The burritos were pretty standard, mostly just rice, beans and meat. The meat was really flavorful and I love the crispy bits in the carnitas. Some bites were pretty spicy. I was disappointed that it didn't come with salsa on the side which I usually like for dipping my burrito. The tacos looked better and had more flavor. Chips and guac were standard too. I got food poisoning from this place! I went here on Sunday (1/16/25) and I ordered a Al pastor regular burrito with no beans. I had been to the Tacos Sinaloa truck in Oakland a few times and had no issues, and enjoyed the food. This was my first time coming to this location, and I got what I usually get at the truck. The burrito was majority rice with very little meat, so I am not sure which part of the burrito made me sick to my stomach. I went to bed feeling the urge to throw up, but decided to sleep it off. I then woke up in the middle of the night with the worst stomach pain ever and all I could think about was the burrito because that's really all I ate that day. I quickly went to the bathroom, which I won't get into details with, but if you've had food poisoning before, or know the symptoms, I was experiencing all of those symptoms. The symptoms proceeded for the next two days, and I only felt better after that burrito was fully out of system. The carnitas are probably my favorite choice of meat, though the fish is pretty good as well. DELICIOUS!!!!! I went here three times in a week, I loved it so much!!! The tacos here are absolutely delicious and really well priced!! I've tried the fish, shrimp, Asada, pollo, pastor tacos and their vegetarian burrito. I had no complaints whatsoever. The food was great, very filling, in fact they had really good/big portions. They charge extra for sauce like salsa or salsa verde which I didn't love but I carried my own bottle of Tapatio so it made the whole experience more enjoyable. 11/10 would recommend this place, go check them out!!!!! read more

Having said that, I'm surprised that it's taken me so long to make it to the Tacos Sinaloa brick-and-mortar! During these COVID times, grabbing a quick togo lunch is par for the course and ordering as large a spread as possible seemed like a great introduction to this place! We ordered tacos for 3 people, opting for Carne Asada, Al Pastor, Carnitas, and Chorizo. The staff was very quick and efficient, and even agreed to pack the tortillas, meat, and fixings separately to avoid sogginess during transport. Briefly reheating the tortillas on a grill at home was all it took to get lunch ready! In short- no disappointment here! All of our choices tasted great, but with that said, some detailed breakdowns: - the Chorizo: I'd save this for if I ever grab a Breakfast Burrito from here. The flavor was rich and intense- all positives for something that would be paired with eggs and starch, but probably not a conventional taco choice on our part. - the Carnitas: the reheating, inevitable due to transport and the inability to eat this on the spot as intended did deprive it of a little moisture, but the flavor is clearly there - the Carne Asada: solid and exactly what one would expect - the Al Pastor: good flavor, but a little on the sweet side- certainly not a dealbreaker I'd definitely be back anytime I'm in the area and craving tacos! read more

If you're looking something quick easy and delicious...definitely come here! Their tacos are superb for such a reasonable price. I like the carnitas and steak the best here. Pastor taco has a lil kick to it. They load up the meat and toppings here. The service is great but the lady who takes the order doesn't t really wear her mask properly...which makes me a lil but uncomfortable. They do online and in person order. Very mid. 15 dollars for a carne asada burrito is EXPENSIVE and for the size of the burrito (a little below average), it isn't worth the price point. I ordered cilantro and onions with my burrito, and my burrito should've came with cheese and sour cream, but for some reason, only the ends of the burrito had sour creams and onions and the rest of the burrito was half meat and half rice. The burrito was very dry, but salsa helps with it. I also ordered spicy carrots, and those were not picked or seasoned at all. Addicted. As soon as I tried their tacos - carne asada, carnitas and pork - I couldn't get enough. I only wished I ordered more and more and more. Legit taqueria situated on Telegraph in Berkeley. It is an extension of its well known spot in Oakland off of International. I like this spot as it gives me a reason to visit my alma mater and it's less scarier than International. The place is very small and there's limited seating. There could be long lines during dinner and lunch, but they are quick to take your order and get it out the door. Parking is limited to street parking or garage. I suggest using the garage as it's easier and close by. Tacos are double shelled, followed by meat, cilantro and onions. Meat is tender, tasty and flavorful. Marinated just right. What sets their tacos apart from others, however, is their salsa/ sauce that they pour on the tacos. It is so delicious and brings all the flavors of the taco together. This also keeps the tacos from drying. So yes, I'd drive to Berkeley from Pittsburg (CA) anytime for these tacos... The original location is somewhere in Oakland. It's not a storefront but a food truck parked at some shady lot. On that note, thank goodness they opened a new location! This location is a hole in the wall with about 6 -8 seats max. It's located off Telegraph and is about a couple blocks from the UCB campus. So far I've tried their carne asada, shrimp, al pastor and carnitas.The carne asada was average. The flavor was nothing out the norm. The shrimp was flavorless and very underwhelming. The al pastor was way too sweet for me. However, their carnitas was to die for! It was crispy and crunchy on the outside and full of flavor and delicious! I knew the tacos were promising when I picked one up and taco juices started to run down my hand. The meats in all three tacos that I got were flavorful and tender, and they created such a great taco. The tacos here are also a pretty good deal, it's only $2 for a taco. I got a plate of three tacos and an horchata, which was delicious, for less than $10. The tacos I ordered were the cabeza, the carnitas, and the pastor. The cabeza is beef head which is basically barbacoa. If you've never had barbacoa (or in this case cabeza) before, I highly recommend it as it is fatty and delicious. The pastor was also really good. It had a light spiciness and was very rich and porky. But my favorite of the meats I tried was the carnitas. The carnitas are fried pieces of pork, so the outside is crunchy which contrasts really well with the soft tortilla. Also, the salsa, onions, and cilantro that come with the taco are a must. The salsas have so much flavor and complement the richness of the meat. Many of the meats are fatty so you need the freshness of the salsa and cilantro to balance the fattiness. The onions provide a nice crunch which is great because everything else in the taco is soft. read more
