Unfortunately, ever since after covid this place is just not the same anymore. The hours have changed. It is no longer 24/7. Quality in food has decreased tremendously. I've given this place a few more chances before updating to this review and sadly I no longer recommend this place. Meats are dry, lack flavor sometimes chewy. Tastes like it's been sitting there for a while. Sauces taste like sink water, not spicy again..no flavor. read more

Stopped by last week got carne asada burrito it was okay little salty for my taste others in my home got menudo On friday this week I stopped by again (better half wanted tacos) so i got a menudo tripe they give you enough but few kernals of hominy sadly Anyway it was very salty I went since it was pushed positive on tik tok but it was ok wouldn't go again service is polite but very slow to serve from into to go containers read more

We are visiting from Houston where we take pride in our taquerias and had doubts about finding adequate tacos up here. Well, color is surprised! We got a taco plate (no meat) and a chicken street taco. The portions are amazing, the flavor and freshness are the best, and the little salsa bar is better than many other gas station taco joints. another plus, the restrooms were immaculate. This place is a hidden gem between towns on a frontage road. I'm a big fan of gas station taco shops and this is one of the greats. First of all, the price. Three tacos, rice and beans, all you can slurp delicious delicious salsas, onions and cliantro to load up my plate to my hearts content... and it was only 6.99$. Cannot beat that. The tacos were amazing - I had two chicken and one barbacoa, and while I think I favored the chicken, they were both fantastic. While I can't say I'd make the drive from Austin specifically for these tacos, I'd be thrilled to stop here for some cheap and tasty taco-ey goodness on a road tripe! read more

Man this new cook in the kitchen is cooking up greatness. It's been awhile since I've been here especially cause the last time I visited my tacos were dry and my beans were watery. But not this time it was a home run this time I had the barbacoa and it was full of flavor unlike any other time I've been here and the beans were actually thick and creamy I loved it so much I finished it too damn fast lol should have gotten an extra taco. The taste is still in my mouth I miss them already I'm glad this place is walking distance from me. I hope the food is this good all the time now cause at one point it really slacked off. Tried this spot for the first time last night and I was pleasantly surprised! The taqueria is located inside of a gas station but don't let that deter you. The guy at the counter was very nice and let me know how the ordering process would go. Great prices, great service, and delicious food! My husband and I tried the barbacoa tacos and chicken tacos. The cook included extra onions and cilantro as I requested and the red salsa was amazing. I will definitely be coming back for more! read more

Let me put y'all on something, but really trust me with this. I know a lot of people say that and then you don't go there because you don't trust them or it looks wrong. I think I started coming here in 2014 or so and have yet to find tacos like this in Fort Worth and I live across town almost 30 minutes away. They are always the same glorious greasy street tacos and they always satisfy. The rest of the menu is also delicious but the carne asada tacos are THE BEST. Cover them in the grilled onions, cilantro and onion, and their salsa and you will not be disappointed. Stopped for a quick bite and ended up with a carne asada burrito with everything (rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, pico de gallo, and sour cream). Yelping because you asked for it. The place was full of people, and the service was fast, I had my food to go (and that was my mistake). The burrito was lacking flavor and especially salt, and it's ok if you want to be health conscious, but at least you could put a salt packet in the bag, no napkins, green and red salsa (that was the worst). The green salsa was watery and flavorless, the heat on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being flaming hot) it was a big fat Zero, I never had salsa that was at least a mild 1. So I switched to the red salsa, that was more like a 1 in heat, and it gets a 2 for flavor (in a scale of 1 to 10. Both salsas were seriously disappointing. My other serious complaint was the Pico de Gallo in my burrito, it was mostly onions, and mostly large chunks. I hate raw onions in my food. Finely chopped onion in a pico de gallo that has tomato, peppers and cilantro, I have no problem. One star for filling the burrito with plenty of food, but when you don't wrap it correctly, and you don't provide napkins, it's a complete mess. read more

My daughter and I have been craving street tacos a lot lately so decided to check this place out based on reviews. I'm sad to say that this was the worst taco that we've had! I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 chicken taco and my daughter ordered the carnitas pork taco special. We didn't check our food but when we got home I quickly became disappointed because it looked as though I'd gotten grilled chicken cubes on one and shredded chicken on the other. My daughter encouraged me to just try it as I may like it...she was wrong and it ended with me throwing it away. My daughter didn't enjoy hers either but choked it down saying that she knows that we won't be returning. read more

I've ate here a few times. Food is always good! But the menudo isn't the best. The meat they use it really tough to eat and feels fake and the taste isn't the best. I had to use 2 whole limes to eat it since I hate wasting food. It's personally not my cup of tea. Totally different from what I've had in many other places. I really like the food here so I wanted to give it more stars but my experience wasn't that great so it's based more on the service than the food. I came in and ordered a burrito. I sat and waited for my burrito, as I'm sitting there 3 other women who I could tell were regulars because they spoke to the cook and guy at the register using their names. After about 10 mins (20 mins since I've been there) these women get their food. The cook then looks at me and says what did you order and the register guy goes "oh shit" He had forgotten to tell him my order. So I was just sitting there waiting for almost half an hour for food that was never coming. Took him 2 mins to make my burrito. The burrito was really good. Their seasoning on the meat is what does it. Their green sauce tastes amazing, better than the roasted chipotle one.. that one tastes burnt so I didn't use it. The food tastes better than expected giving its in a gas station, but the service killed it for me. I'll update if I go back and have better service read more

I look forward to coming to Alvarado/Everman because I know I'll get to stop at this shell and pick up some amazing fajita tacos. They offer steak or chicken tacos and always include fresh cilantro, onions, red and green sauce, fresh limes, and a grilled jalapeno. My absolute favorite part is the green sauce they include in little plastic cups. It is spicy, tangy and compliments the cilantro-packed tacos perfectly. I love it so much that I bought a cup full for 3$. They also offer humongous burritos, quesadillas, and menudo. I highly recommend for a 24 hour snack, or if you've got the serious munchies. Located across the street from the Quiktrip, you can't miss it. read more

Update and again, disappointed. I got the carnitas burrito and the meat was like leather. The very first bite. I thought it was the tortilla at first but it was too tough to chew. The entire burrito had tough pieces in it. I get it, you don't want to waste food, you don't serve the customer that type of food. read more

A friend of mine told me this place was worth trying.. we are no longer friends.. I'm kidding.. but this place was just okay.. flavors weren't anything exciting.. and it tasted like it was made in a gas station.. I LOVE hole in the wall places especially Taco places.. this ain't that.. this is just an okay taco spot, if you already getting gas and and are starving , but not a go out of your way to try by any means read more

I'm a trucker and a fancy man. This place had courteous employees, the store manager( I think? ) was nice and I felt welcome even though I'm not Hispanic. Seemed like great people. The food was very good and the amount of sauces and condiments they give such as chopped onion with cilantro, verde/ green sauce, spicy red sauce, lime etc. Was fresh and delicious. I love to give bad reviews when needed but this place delivered me 3 lingau tacos and rice and beans with slightly roasted onion and a chili pepper + all the condiments plus I got Mexican praline candy for around 8 bucks. Super value and it was fresh and very deliciously flavorful! I give them five stars. If you like taco truck tacos like they got out in California then this place will fit the bill. Also they have a clean eating spot and I'm all about ambiance but I felt ok there. Not bad. I'd recommend this place to anyone. I'll be back for more for sure. Please give these folks your business . One of the best kept secrets in town! Hit this spot tonight as I was headed south to Austin in the middle of the night...INCREDIBLE green salsa and killer chicken quesadilla, made in less than 3 minutes and only cost me $5. I love finding dive Mexican joints like this and the fact that they're open 24hrs makes it even better! I'll be telling all my road dawg friends to stop here on their way outta Fort Worth. read more

Ok. This isn't the best gas station. The parking lot and pump area is small and often becomes difficult to maneuver through when it gets busy. And it does. Gas prices are always on par with the Quick Trip across the street. Shell does offer V-Power gas. So there's that. The real reason I'm reviewing this place is the 24/7 Tacos located inside. I have been here at all hours of the day, and the food is always consistant. I love the barbacoa tacos, the super burrito, and the quesadillas. read more

This shell station has competitive fuel prices, as there is a Quik Trip across the street that keeps them in check. Also, being in Everman, away from the bulk of Fort Worth traffic, helps in that regard. The real reason for this review is the 24 hour taqueria inside the store. They have specials for $5.99, you can get 3 tacos with rice and beans. The tacos are prepared right in front of the customers and are pretty tasty. The taqueria also prepares other things like burritos and tortas, so I had a torta with barbacoa. I felt that there could have been a little more seasoning on the meat, but it was OK, and there was a little bit of this creamy sauce (is that just mayonnaise?) on the torta that was pretty good. Not a bad stop if traveling Southbound on IH 35. read more

Been eating here for many years. It's a place I'm always happy to show people because it's quality is unexpected. The rice is always consistently the best in town. Put lots of their house made hot sauce on it amd their grilled onions and it's heavenly. There is a line out the door during lunch sometimes so if you can avoid those peak times you should. My only complaint is if I stop in to get only rice they don't move my ticket ahead of the cooked food so I still end up waiting 20 minutes for what took 10 seconds. read more

Grooooooooooooooosssssss!!! OMG! Being a CA native a burrito is my go to when I just can't figure it out. I made the mistake of stopping at Ross before going to taco oasis last night not realizing they closed at 11:00 on Fridays. I lived to regret every second of that retail therapy! Disappointed, I turned to yelp and found this dirty little place...which would have almost been ok if only the food were any good! It wasn't! I ordered the Asada super burrito. ASADA IT WAS NOT!!! WTH?!? Some kind of flavorless, tough, stringy shredded "beef" (maybe it wasn't actually beef?!?...I dunno). Everything in it was bland and flavorless...the rice, the cheese E-v-e-r-y-t-h-I-n-g...do you hear me? I started to think it was me, and not them, until I tasted the green salsa which was flavored nicely and had a little kick to it. A quick note on seating: the patio is lovely in theory, with the optional open windows and a breezy feel, but the chairs are not winning any comfort awards. Inside booths are the move. Also worth noting, this is Fort Worth, and once the thermometer hits triple digits, the patio conversation ends itself if the windows are open. Plan accordingly. Malai starts every table with steamed sticky rice and an eggplant dip, which is a charming little ritual and a genuinely good one. We also kicked things off with the Edamame, a heads up on the heat level there, and the Fried Imperial Rolls, filled with ground pork and shrimp and served with a sesame soy sauce. Fair warning: these do not photograph well and arrive at the table looking a little shy. Don't be fooled. They're flavorful, subtly spicy, and well worth ordering. For entrees, we tried the Basil Vegetable Fried Rice two ways, one vegan and one with chicken. The vegan version was a genuine surprise, with vegetables cooked just right and a flavor that didn't need the chicken to make its case. The mushrooms, however, had the texture of something you'd find in a hardware store. Chew at your own risk. The Green Curry, meanwhile, was a case of too much of a good thing. The curry was so heavy-handed it drowned everything underneath it. Sometimes restraint is a virtue. Save room for the Banana Pot de Crème. It's creamy, subtly sweet, and a graceful finish to the meal. The service at Malai is enthusiastic, and I do mean enthusiastic. The staff works as a team, all smiles, attentive, always nearby. Occasionally a little too nearby. More than once a plate nearly disappeared before we were done with it. It's a small complaint, and honestly a far better problem than the alternative. They're warm, cheerful, and clearly enjoy what they do, which goes a long way. Portions are generous, so order a few dishes and share the wealth. For a lunch stop between shops, Malai Kitchen punches well above its weight.
