It was my first time here, so I wasn't sure where to go at first, but it's pretty easy to figure out. They have separate lines for tacos, burritos, and aguas frescas, which keeps everything organized and moving smoothly. I went straight for the tacos. I ordered two carne asada, one chorizo, and one al pastor. The condiment setup was also really good. Let me tell you, this hit the spot! I loved the grilled onions, serranos, hot sauce, and especially the curtido de habanero,so good. The carne asada was okay slightly on the tougher side but the chorizo and al pastor were really solid. Taco prices are fair, but the aguas frescas felt a bit on the expensive side. Overall, I'd definitely come back again.

Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

We found easy street parking in the neighborhood on 41st Street, and waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the asada tacos. They pre-sauce your tacos, which was fine by me, but my boyfriend who can't handle as much spice would've preferred it on the side (so warning for anyone similar! they do put a little habanero on them, so just ask them for salsa on the side). I think I ran into a problem of reading too many raving reviews -- these tacos were good but I was expecting them to be mind blowing, so I was a little disappointed. I tasted the charcoal char, but kind of wished the taste was more pronounced, or at least the meat more seasoned. The hand made tortillas were definitely the coolest part, but I thought they were a little dry too. The ladies whipping those out are artists though. Actually, all the workers here have the assembly line down to the tea, and they definitely add a little flare for a show. I particularly liked how they had a lot of seating at this location, instead of just a couple stools lying around like most taco trucks. It felt more like outdoor patio seating than a normal taco stand. They could probably take more time to wipe down tables more often though. Overall would visit again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way for the tacos here.

The food absolutely smells amazing each time you walk by too, but it's not like I can just stop and eat here because that means that five mile walk I did was for nothing. But today... Today was the day to make my five mile walk for nothing!!! I decided to order a carne asada taco. It was $3. I wanted to try it because just looking at the meat each time, it looked amazing. Then they made it. And when they stacked on all the meat on top of the tortilla, it barely even all fit on there. But what do you do when you can't fit anything on top? The answer is simple. You get all the toppings you can like salsa and cilantro and so forth and stick it on top! I took a nibble of the meat before biting into the taco and I was like, you know what, this is it. This is what you want in a taco. This is high quality meat. Then when you blend all the ingredients together, you have everything you want. The service is solid. The ambiance is outdoors. If you make it here, get something here because it's pretty amazing.

Their fries even come out hot and fresh from an on-site fryer. My go-to is their super tender, fatty suadero! Crowd-favorite seems to be the al pastor - it's roasted with pineapple, bringing that yummy sweet-savory balance. The workers are generous with portions, loading up tacos, burritos, and nachos like they're feeding close friends, all at a price that feels like a steal. There's plenty of unlimited grilled jalapenos and onions, salsas, and more to go around! I love that the workers give the burrito to us open faced so we can pile on condiments to our heart's content before they roll it all up neatly. We were so impressed that we fully abandoned our taco crawl plans and came back for seconds. Note: This spot is located in a high traffic area of LA. A parking lot sits conveniently right behind the stand, so you won't have to struggle for parking. Highly recommend swinging by for amazing late night munchies! No frills here, just quick eats that hit the spot every time.

Located at RFK High School in Koreatown LA, this location was central and provided lots of space for food stands, food trucks, games, merch stands, drink stands, music stage, you name it. They even had a (huge) sneaker expo stand! I did not see any performers on the music stage, but they posted some content online and it looks like they killed it! Minzy from 2NE1 headlined the first night. I did not have a chance to see everything as I was with a group of people (takes longer to do virtually everything), but there was so much to see! The food I did try: Xing Fu Tang strawberry boba, yakitori yado mochi chicken skewer, kimchi rice ball, pork belly rice ball, thai basil chicken. Everything was good. It was busy! Get there early as by 7:30pm or so it was wall to wall people (some wearing masks, some not as they were recommended only). Had a great time - they have rebooted this event so well!
