Beautiful, spacious home--perfect for a family reunion or a relaxing Tahoe retreat. The kids absolutely loved the game room, and the large outdoor area gave them plenty of space to play in the snow. The kitchen is expansive, well-equipped, and ideal for cooking for a big group. We really appreciated the ample supply of beds, blankets, and towels, which made our stay very comfortable. We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Everything was impeccably clean and thoroughly prepared for our arrival. The house was stocked with everything we needed and more, from hotel-quality towels and tissues folded to look like flowers to extras like baby utensils, ziploc bags, and board games. The house itself was cozy and very homely. The kids especially loved playing in the snow in the backyard. The location was also perfect, quiet and surrounded by nature. It was also incredibly convenient; the grocery store and the ski resorts were less than a 15 minutes drive away. The bathrooms were very clean, as were the rooms and kitchen. We had a very comfortable stay and the amenities like the heater and wifi worked flawlessly. Horrible Experience -- Zero Compassion or Accountability from Tahoe Getaways I booked a house in Tahoe through VRBO, managed by Tahoe Getaways, for Thursday 12/25 through Sunday 12/28. Leading up to our trip, I noticed a huge storm was forecasted, so I reached out to Tahoe Getaways on Tuesday 12/23 to express concern and ask about canceling. They completely minimized the situation, assuring us it would be "no problem" to get there even though the property was inaccessible due to the weather! What they didn't mention was their so-called "worry free guarantee" that would've allowed us to cancel before 4pm on 12/24. Unfortunately, the storm hit hard on the evening of 12/23 and lasted far longer than anticipated. The storm warning and travel ban, which were originally scheduled until 4pm on 12/25, were extended until 10pm on 12/26 due to extremely dangerous conditions. Despite having 4WD vehicles with snow tires, we attempted to drive to Tahoe twice (12/25 and 12/26), only to be turned around both times by police because I‑80 was closed due to spinouts and unsafe conditions. We were traveling as a family (including a grandmother and babies) and it was simply not safe to sit in a car for hours waiting for the roads to reopen. We stayed in close communication via text with Tahoe Getaways and made them aware of our situation and the road closures. When we again couldn't make it through on 12/26, we asked for a partial refund or the option to rebook for another stay. The response we received was shockingly unprofessional and cruel. The Tahoe Getaways staff were rude, dismissive, and seemed to take pleasure in our frustration. They literally laughed at our concerns about safety, flaunted their policy, and told us we had missed the cancellation window by only a few hours. In the end, they kept our $5,000, only refunding the cleaning fee, showing zero concern for our safety or the reality that we were physically prevented from reaching the property due to road closures. Their lack of empathy and arrogance were beyond comprehension. Tahoe Getaways should be ashamed of how they treat customers. They do not care about guest safety, and they certainly don't stand behind the spirit of their own policies. Save yourself the heartbreak and money and never book through Tahoe Getaways on VRBO. If something goes wrong, you're on your own. read more

We stayed at Silverado Lodge at Palisades, a Tahoe Getaways property. The most disturbing thing was that we saw several mice, there were mouse droppings in a bedroom and on the dining table. We were quite disappointed in the quality of the property for the price. Here are other observations: General: The house is a nice size and layout but seems neglected. There should be some type of furniture or a picnic table on the main deck so you could sit out there. Without it, the deck is practically useless for anything other than standing and looking out for a few minutes. We really missed the opportunity to sit or have meals outside and enjoy the beautiful setting. Cleanliness: When we arrived, there was a dead mouse in the shower in the downstairs bedroom (with shower) when we arrived. Also, the kitchen floor was very dirty. At the time, we thought it was crumbs but are now wondering whether it was mouse droppings. Both the main deck and the one off the main bedroom upstairs were extremely dirty and required sweeping. Additionally, all the windows are quite dirty and several screens have holes in them. Primary Bedroom 1 upstairs (with jacuzzi): 1. Sheets were very scratchy and the comforter is too heavy and hot for summer. 2. The mattress is very soft and saggy. It needs replacing. 3. The room never cooled down as the fireplace pilot light is giving off quite a bit of heat. There did not seem to be a way to cool the room via the hallway thermostat or via the fans. Sleeping was not comfortable. Bedroom 2 upstairs (with shower): There is a large wasp nest inside the window frame (see photo), and there is some way that they get into the bathroom and bedroom. We had several wasps in that bedroom throughout the stay and heard mice in the room. There is a mouse infestation in this room, perhaps in the sofa. We were only at the property for a few days and requested financial compensation from Tahoe Getaways, but they took over two weeks to respond and said they would do nothing since we did not call them about these issues while we were there. The one time I did call them, I got an answering machine. In truth, the visit was too short and time limited to devote it to these issues at the time. I would not recommend booking this property or booking through Tahoe Getaways. read more

Unfortunately the house we originally booked had a last minute heater and hot water failure and could not be occupied. (Other than that, the property was fantastic!) Host cancelled on us as we were driving up from Cali to Tahoe. Off the rip the were not very accommodating and super hostile, trying to encourage us to book through their website directly. The ad states two main things that led to us booking with them initially, "Dog OK" but hidden in their rules is a pet fee per of $30 per night plus taxes and "11 guests" but then they want us to cancel because our party is larger than 10 guests. WHEN BOOKING THROUGH AIR BNB DO NOT CANCEL, let them cancel on you so you can not only receive a full refund but an additional credit. You won't be able to leave a review but its noted that the host cancelled. Posted on Yelp and other platforms to warn everyone to stay away from them. The ad is basically up to bring guest in and they'll pick and chose but then they'll try to change the rules on you and try to make more money by pushing you to book directly. Def do not do that as platforms such as Air Bnb are there to at least protect you. read more

Our family stayed at Stellar Ski-in Ski-out #2 hosted by Tahoe Getaways. Would not book again. Property not as pictured and not worth the money. Front door and clubhouse hot tub was broken our entire stay. Areas of the house are "off limits" and locked to guests such as back patio with gas fire pit and game room bunk beds. House was extremely hot upon arrival because blinds and curtains were left open prior to arrival. Our home was without AC. Little things were broken in the house like the primary light in master bathroom. And outdoor furniture was old and rundown. Customer service is nonexistent. Incredibly unreliable service, cancelled our reservation just 3 hours prior to when it started. Asking us to cancel our reservation instead of them canceling to avoid host cancellation fees and an automated Airbnb review stating that the host cancelled. If only 8 guests + 2 children are allowed per county/city ordinance, why does your listing state 11 guests allowed? Disclosing that we are a party of 10 with a dog is a red flag? Disclosing that we had another guest tag along last minute (making 11 total) is a red flag? Yes, we booked 24 hours prior, but only because our last host canceled due to a non-functional heater in the last reservation and then had Airbnb help find a replacement. Apparently doing our due diligence to select a "pet friendly" and a 11 guest max capacity listing is a red flag to them. Sounds more like discrimination. I'm pretty sure asking the guest to cancel due to a mistake on your listing and asking the guest to book directly without using Airbnb is a violation to Airbnb policies. read more

Woodside Lodge is a large, nicely kept, comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood. Our family enjoyed our stay and had fun with the pool table, foosball and the many board games. DO NOT RENT FROM TAHOE GETAWAYS 1423 Beaver Dam Trail Alpine Meadows You can't sit in the hot tub and talk after 10 pm! Then they charge $2500 stating code violations. I asked for proof and they have not produced any proof. 8/29/25 Verified through the County of Placer. No noise complaints or parking citations were issued. After lying and stating we got a citation for parking Tahoe Getaways called me at 2 pm and stated I needed to be out by 3 pm. I informed them that no one was at the residence and all Vehicles had been moved. I also informed them that my daughters Wedding was starting at 3. They said I could stay if I paid another $1500 and gave them another $2500 deposit. So if we were such a nuisance why would they allow us to stay if we paid them? We immediately sent friends to gather our things. Some Items were mistakenly left behind. Tahoe Getaways insisted that we pay them another $1500 to get our things back. After several phone calls back-and-forth, they agreed to give us our things. I have written proof of all of this. The first night when we were called for a noise complaint, there were two of us sitting in a hot tub. The second night there were three of us visiting on the porch. The third time was during the day and our vehicles were parked in the wrong spot. We immediately moved the vehicles. read more
