Stopped in to pick up some Tahoora's signature mithai (Indian sweets) for my sister's boss down in Florida and ended up staying to also have some really delicious lunch and trying some new dishes. I wasn't super familiar with. I believe Faiyaz helped me and he was so kind! I had no idea what I was order or how to pronounce it, but he guided me though and was lovely! For the sweets I got, Badam Barfi, Pista Barfi, gulab jamun, Cream Gulab - those all went down to Florida, and I heard that they were throughly enjoyed! For food while we were there, and some made it way back home because I don't know how to not over order, we got the chicken puffs ($2.75/each), vegetable samosas ($1.70 each), chicken paratha roll ($6), papri chat ($5.50), and a mango lassi ($5). The chicken puffs were light and flaky, filled with flavorful chicken. Nice little snack. The veg samosas were piping hot inside and pack full of super flavorful potato. Side note, the chicken puff and samosas are available in their hot bar, which is super convenient to come in and quickly check out with these tasty little snacks! And I loved both of their sauces that they make. The green hot sauce was very nice and herby with a little kick. And the sweet and spicy has the perfect description. I have never had a chicken paratha or a papri chat and loved them both. These are available from their kitchen and came out quickly, less than 10 minutes. The chicken in the puff was flavor packed and flavor exploded over night, I ate the left overs the next day. And I wish I would have finished the papri chat the same day, the tasty little wafers inside soaked up the yogurt but even the next day it was super tasty! The yogurt with the chutneys and chickpeas, the crispy noodle bits (sev?) on top. Such a wonderful combination. This on its own would be a really nice lunch. The mango lassi was soooooooooo good. I wish I could have had 12 of them. Extra smooth, creamy, and mango flavor packed. These have always been one of my most favorite Indian drinks and I would say this one was stellar. I would get ALL of these items again (and again) - IMO it was very well priced for the quality and portions. I'm exited to come back and try some more foods and flavors soon! read more

i loved my cham cham and plain barfi here. absolutely delicious. i spoiled my appetite for dinner but that's okay because it was so worth it to eat this before real food. i want to try their samosas and puff pastry next time. super kind servers behind the counter and around the restaurant ensuring people have what they need. facilities are well maintained (good restroom for devon ave) and there's a water cup station to help yourself. great casual place to stop in for traditional south asian desserts and pastries, also great for getting gifts or bringing dessert to a potluck. they pack things up cutely. read more

This time around we stopped for the falooda, which is like a milkshake with ice cream, vermicelli, basil seeds and syrups. So this review is just about that. The other sweets that they sell are still top notch. The falooda was tasty. The ice-cream was really sweet and a little soft for my preference but when you mixed it all together, it made for a very yummy and refreshing dessert. Definitely my favorite spot on Devon to just get together after a good meal. When it cold outside you can come in here and grab a chai to warm you up. All three times I came here I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and casual dining experience with my friends. I was able to get some really good methai, which means sweets, and always got more than I really needed. My suggestion would be to try one of everything hahah but remember sharing is caring to why not take a to go order for a family friend or relative that is local. If you don't have any local family or friends you can definitely take some back with you on the ok the plane. I enjoy this police for the sweets and mainly for the chai, but they also have a full menu and kitchen, so it's not just about desserts. One of my favorite sweets and streetfood spots on Devon. The kulfi here are very good, so is the falooda. I've also tried their various samosas and puff pastries and have never been disappointed. The tamarind chutney packets are great. The ras malai here are some of the softest and most decadent ones I've ever tasted, the ras is velvety smooth and divine. Really like this sweets shop in Devon! I've only been to here and Sukhadia's but I like this one a lot more. Not really sure why, but I'm pretty sure I felt strongly about this at some point... Most sweets are $8/pound and they have a huge variety. My personal *cough* basic favorites are the plain barfi, darker brown milk cake, and mango barfi. They also have food and other items, but sadly I've not yet tried them. There are always quite a few people inside when I've gone, though, so the food must be good! In terms of ambience I'd say it is fairly casual, with some people dining in and others just getting sweets to-go. The restaurant itself is fairly capacious. My main complaints are that they do package everything in plastic containers and plastic bags and that based on the coloring on some of the sweets they may use artificial food colors - will have to ask next time. read more

Nice place with good service and a large selection. I went years ago with a friend who told me what to buy, and the kulfi pistachio popsicle was my favorite. I went yesterday (under COVID19), and I still admired their products. The dark gulab was good, but it's so sweet and syrupy, you only need half a bite or no more than one at a time. You can never go wrong at Tahoora's. My go to place for wedding and party sweets. They have a wide variety of mithai's (sweets). My favorites are the Kaju Katli, Mewa's, Halwas and Motichoor Laddoos. They ship it too. They also have savory snack items like pakoras, samosas, puff pastries etc. On weekends they have their famous halwa pooris till 1 pm. When I asked him for the status of my order, he grabbed my receipt and attempted to destroy the evidence when to try to prove that he didn't have to make me wait. I grabbed it back and told him off. I am a huge fan of sweets and Tahoora is one of the best place in this world when it comes to sweets. You have to try their plain barfi, pista barfi and motichoor laddu. They are out of this world. The golab jamoon and the jilapis are good as well so as the tea. You might have to wait in a line till your turn comes up. The people on the counters are helpful and nice. It's kinda too sweet but I think that's how it's suppose to be I came here on a Sunday for their weekend halwa puri special just to see what the hype was all about. We stopped by for dessert while stuffed from a big meal at a nearby restaurant. The place itself was very clean and spacious. We ordered at the counter which displayed a multitude of Indian snacks such as mithai, samosas, pakora, puffs, and more. The place was not very busy so we didn't wait in line very long. The man behind the counter took our order and gave us our food which was already prepared. We ordered the Mango Falooda and an Aloo Samosa. The Aloo Samosa was crispy on the outside and stuffed with spicy potatoes and peas filling on the inside. The samosa crust was not too doughy but flaky instead which worked well with the texture of the filling. The potato filling was flavored with just the right amount of chili flakes, spice and masala. The Mango Falooda was exactly what I needed after enjoying a big Indian meal. It contained vermicelli, sugar, milk, subza, syrup, and my favorite, freshly made mango ice cream. The portion was smaller than I would've liked and I wish the falooda contained more ice cream. The quality of the dessert itself, however, was very rich, dense, and creamy. Tahoora Sweets was not what everyone had made it out to be. We left disappointed. We ordered numerous items from the menu, and the best or most flavorful was the mango lassi. The sweets were decent but definitly not the best. The raas mali was good but lacked true depth, and didnt have enough richness. The samosa chaat was, gross. The yogurt tasted as though it had gone sour, and the chutneys were off. I wish I could say more about the food but I dont see myself going back. I wasn't quite sure which language to speak to the gentlemen at the register in. He seemed to not speak English which was fine so I spoke Urdu, which he also seemed to not speak, so it felt ridiculously awkward. - Just had to throw that in there because afterwards it was slighlty funny. In fact the employees even insisted that the flies were there for the true Pakistani experience and that if one lands on the food it will add more authentic flavor. Was in the area with a friend recently, and we decided to stop by here to get some samosas and desserts after our large meal. The interior of Tahoora is very spacious. You order at the counter, and their menu consists of various snack/sweet items, such as chat, samosa, puffs, etc. Their hot snack menu is actually pretty extensive and I may actually check it out next time! We went on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30, and it was pretty empty, and the service was quick. We ended up getting vegetable samosa, and a mango falooda. The samosa is 80 cents a piece and is your typical large samosa filled with potato/peas masala. It also comes with the typical green/red sauce combo. There's not much to say here about the samosas, as they were pretty solid and good samosas are pretty standard in the area. The Mango falooda was really good. It consists of a scoop of mango ice cream/kulfi, rose syrup, vermicelli, and sweet basil seeds, among other things I'm probably missing. A great dessert worth trying if you're here in the area! My one complaint is that I wish there was more ice cream in the item, but overall it was good and I would definitely order it again. read more

Online order review I was very happy to see that they shipped sweets. I figured it was difficult but they must do it like Sherries Berries with an ice pack. I placed an order for two small boxes and wanted to see how their service was. If it was good, I would order as gifts for my wedding guests. Well, the order was received at 11am in Houston, Texas. It is the middle of summer and the box had sweets. There is no ice pack. I wasnt home to receive the package so I got it at 6pm. After opening I saw that it was full of ants. I figured if I called them, they would just send a replacement. Called and got Zubair (manager?). This guy was way less than helpful. He had the audacity to try and blame me for not being home. Dropped by for some samosas and it was well worth it. We were a little hesitant about this place from the outside but once we walked in it was fine. The place looks very small from the outside but once you walk it you will be surprised how large it is. We went early Saturday morning and it was dead. I'm not sure if it is like that all the time. The samosas were awesome! I really enjoyed them. You can't beat 80 cents for one!! We got three of them for two people and it was a nice snack. It did not have an overwhelming curry flavor. We added some sweet and spicy sauce and it made it even better. The samosas were not greasy either. The service was fine. It is counter service and we got what we needed without any issue. I would recommend this place for quick eats. A lot of food options were not available due to Eid Mubarak. I would definitely recommend the samosas to everyone!
