I have driven past this place many times and never considered it because it's location is in a real dumpy strip mall. I had friends last week talking about it though and how great the food was. We decided to try this place because of the reviews. We ordered take out. When I showed up, the place was empty and was dirty and unkept. Besides that, nothing had flavor. The general tso chicken was Al bread and mushy, the ribs had no sauce on them - they looked very unappetizing and the sauces were all runny and lacking flavor. Kind of watered down. Tai Li is by far the best Chinese restaurant I've dined in. I've tried a few other Chinese restaurants along with the big named ones such as Kim Son or P.F Chang but I didn't like either of their food. Tai Li has me spoiled when it comes to Chinese food. Yum S/N: Customer service could be better but I'm a regular and the owner knows my family so I don't personally have any problems. I have never ordered from Tai Li before but I am happy I did. Placing my order over the phone at around 5:30pm on a Saturday evening was quick and easy. I was told that my order would be delivered within 30-45 minutes, keep in mind the restaurant is less than a mile from my home. About 15-20 minutes later my doorbell rang, I instantly thought it was salesman or someone of religious affiliation but to my surprise it was the Tai Li delivery driver! My food was piping hot like it was cooked to order in his car!! I ordered orange chicken with white meat, vegetable fried rice, and teriyaki chicken skewers, which didn't have any sauce on them nor did they taste as if they had been marinated, but good none the less. I will definitely return to Tai Li in the future! I gave 4 stars to leave room to be wowed with my next encounter. read more

The first couple of times I came here I wasn't overwhelmed but after a fly in my soup at another Chinese place I decided to give in another try. Boy I'm glad I did. They've really gotten much better over the past year here. In fact everything was very tasty. During the pandemic they are just doing takeout and they have a very interesting contactless way of picking up food. You let them know you're there after paying online and they put the food on a numbered seat and tell you which one to pick it up on. Works great and they package their product very well. I've yet to have anything missing. The lo mein is better than most around but I really wish local Chinese places would stop using linguini and use the proper squared lo mein noodles. The General Tsos and Orange chicken is way better than average and not too bready like some are. They also actually use some spice although still not as hot as it should be. Still better than the weaksauce you get from most places around here. If I had to choose, Tai Li is the best Chinese restaurant in the Atascocita area. read more

Tai Li has been my family's go-to for great Chinese food for at least 20 years, and I'm so sad to say that the quality of their food seems to have gone down over the last few years. This place is the bomb.com! I've been eating here since high school... like 10 years ago, and the food and service have remained consistent. Generous portions and quality for the prices, especially with the lunch specials. I love that they offer vegetarian and health conscious options, which not many Chinese restaurants offer around here. I also love that the owners are always very welcoming, and always thank their customers when they leave. Speaks volumes about their business. Ditch the chains and come dine here soon! read more

My order was taking a long time to arrive. I called the restaurant to ask about my order. They told me it's on the way, should be a few minutes. 25 mins pass and still no food, we called again. The Same guy answers the phone then after he finds out I called before he hands the phone over. Then a lady says the order never showed up on their end. Food - in a word MEH. Had generals chicken. Asked for won ton soup got hot n sour. It was overly thick and looked of corn starch thickening run amok. Very little flavor and a little spicy. Generals chicken had very very thick sauce overly sweet as well. Chicken was dry and tuff. Not Very good food. But cheep. The decor looked run down and little dingy as well. After reading others' reviews I guess I can say that our experiences must be subjective. I recently moved into the area and about a couple of weeks ago had lunch there on a sunday. Prices are good but you pay for what you get because the portions were small compared to other restaurants in the area. For example in all other establishments I get two noodles in my wonton soup. I only got one here. Also, there is a sign in the restaurant that reads something like "No free fried noodles on Sundays". WTF? Can someone say miserable? And the taste was less than middle of the road. My verdict: - Prices seemed slightly less than the rest but at the expense of getting less food - Taste was not on par with the rest read more

I came here on a Sunday around noon, the place was packed to the walls which made It hard to move around. We were waiting for about 15 min to get a seat. We was placed in a back corner and the kid who took us to our seats took our drink order. After the drinks came we waited for about 25 minutes for our waitress to come and take our order. People who were there after us and were seated had their order taken and got their appetizers, we just sat there waiting. Finally she came over and took our order and we were now waiting for our food. Once the food arrived the guy who delivered it to us didn't place my plate in front of me, he handed it to me across the table like I was supposed to do his job for him. I got the sesame chicken and my gf got the orange chicken. The meals tasted the exact same with very little difference between them. I ask the waitress for extra rice and she tells me ok but the rice never comes. Once it's time for the check to come around I wasn't asked if I wanted anything more it was just "here you go, don't let the door hit you on the way out". I felt almost as if I was just a number instead of a customer. The food was alright but not the best in the world. I went there to pick up an order and when I walked in the door there was a horrible smell and while I was waiting for the food I notice paint peeling off the floor boards on to the floor.
