Stopped in for dinner and had such a wonderful experience! We were warmly greeted and seated right away. We started with the steamed dumplings, which were absolutely delicious. The general Tso's was crispy and flavorful with a tasty sauce, and the chicken lo mein was really flavorful too. Portions were quite generous. Definitely would recommend!

Tai Li is always so very good. The portions are huge and it's always fresh and hot. Got some to go and as always they knocked it out of the park.

Chicken w.Garlic Sauce. Tasted and smelled like fish. Straight to garbage.

Ordered on Uber Eats. The crispy honey chicken had a very strong fishy flavor and smell. I Could not eat it. Threw the entire meal away. I'm staying at a hotel and ordered a few meals to last a few days and by the time I tried the crispy chicken, it was outside the return window. Also, the meals are too expensive to not include pork fried rice or crispy noodles. I even paid extra for fried rice and requested in the notes for pork fried rice but did not receive it. The fried rice was tasteless and had a nothing in it but a couple peas and a couple pieces of carrot. The cashew chicken was okay. The wonton soup and edamame was good.

My friend and I went for dinner here after my parents recommended we went at very busy time so we did wait a while for someone to take the order and food to come out but it was worth the wait. FOOD WAS AMAZING! Space is chill, server was very polite kept apologizing for the tardiness. We will be back ! So yummy

Tai li is an interesting restaurant with both Chinese and Japanese menu. The Japanese food seems pretty good and a decent deal. The sushi is two rolls for 10 dollars which is pretty cheap. I ordered the unagi don which was just eel on sushi rice. It was pretty good and I'd get it again. Service was excellent and the waitstaff spoke Chinese with my grandfather to ensure that he was able to order something that he liked. My grandfather seemed satisfied with his meal and really liked how our waitress made sure we were happy. Our drinks were refilled often and our food came out rapidly, though not all at the same time.

Ordered the general tsos off the lunch menu today and it was so delicious!! Such a great lunch menu, the entree came with rice, an egg roll and choice of a soup for only like $9!! We also ordered the crab puffs and they were perfectly cooked. We ordered delivery and they came so fast. Will definitely be ordering regularly from here.

I see quite a few old reviews that note bad service and off flavored food. Those seem very odd considering the experiences my wife and I have had at the new(er) location. They've merged the Tai Li from the south side of 1960 with the Fujiya ( I think that's what it was called) on the North side of 1960 with the combined restaurant called Tai Li on the north side of 1960. We've been several times and ordered the fried dumplings each time.....hot, crispy and fresh. We also get an order of egg rolls but not much to say here....they're traditional fried egg rolls. They're hot and crispy and what you would expect with respect to the flavor. For main courses, we've ordered the curry noodles, salt baked shrimp with garlic sauce, sesame chicken, mabo tofu, and Sichuan beef. All dishes have been outstanding and extremely fresh. I eat shrimp just about every time I go out and can tell when it is not fresh or has been soaked in some odd brine mixture. The restaurant is clean and we've always had good service. Are they perfect? Absolutely not. My wife is asian so I've been to a LOT of asian restaurants in Houston. Asians, no offense intended, seem to yell at one another (and maybe others) by American standards....something about the tonal nature of the language. We haven't had any of the sushi because, frankly, I have yet to find any sushi that actually has a flavor unless you load it with ginger and radish paste. Great selection of cold beers and wine as well and the price is right. There are a lot of to go orders headed out the door when we've been there. I also noted everyone that comes in is a regular and they know the names of the wait staff. That's a good sign in my opinion.

This is my go to Chinese spot. Singapore noodles, sesame or general joes chicken, house special fried rice can't go wrong with any of these.

I've done Peking…read moreCuisine for years and shifted to Arco for my duck cravings, but if you're willing to drive out to Humble (pretty much anytime you're in the IAH area), you gotta check out Bamboo House for the best Peking duck. And their other menu items are fire as well! We went on a Sunday late evening. We had a 9 pm airport pickup at IAH so it was a perfect opportunity to grab a spectacular dinner and make the 30+ minute drive out to IAH totally worth it. Parking lot wasn't too full so that wasn't an issue. While the neighborhood ain't River Oaks luxury, it ain't too scary either. We kept it simple - ordered a whole duck and Bamboo House Special Noodle with Beef. This place ain't cheap but the food is worth every penny. It was very busy that evening so it's not a well-kept secret but also proves that eventually, Houstonians will figure out where the good food is. The duck was near perfect. They serve the duck with the pancakes (as opposed to the buns like at Arco) which is my preference. The soup that comes with it was also extremely flavorful. And the house special noodles with beef - oh my. I swear it's just one really long noodle so you may be frustrated trying to divvy up the family style bowl, but the labor is worth it. So good... Can't wait for my next airport run so I can sneak in a lunch or dinner at this place. So many other menu items I want to try!

I had previously visited the now closed Bamboo House on Westheimer and I remember being impressed by the food. I had to make an airport run and decided that it would be perfect timing to stop by this location. I highly recommend ordering the duck ahead of time, but we were lucky enough to snag one of the last ducks when we arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday evening. The waitress was super friendly and upbeat and the restaurant is older but well maintained. You can see where the food is being prepared/cooked and you can see ducks being cooked/warmed behind a glass window. The duck was absolutely spectacular with the perfect seasoned and tender meat accompanied by well rendered crispy skin. I love how the pancakes are paper thin and pair well with the scrumptious duck and other toppings. They also provide sugar and plum sauce as additional toppings which I thought was interesting but not my cup of tea. The duck soup was extremely flavorful and full bodied and went well with the duck. The noodles were also amazing with likely hand pulled noodles served with an abundance of tender beef and vegetables with a little Sichuan kick. I was intrigued by a strawberry chicken dish that I saw on the menu and I plan to try it the time. My diagnosis: hands down the best Peking duck in the greater Houston area!

Left No Grain of Rice Behind (and Met a Track Star)…read more (10/10) My husband and I wandered into Imperial China on a quiet night - just us two lovebirds and the immaculately clean scent of... well, perfection. Seriously, the place smelled so fresh you could probably perform surgery in the dining room (don't worry, they stick to cooking, which is way more impressive). But the real MVP was Kendall She ran the register, served us, and basically orchestrated our entire evening with the grace of a future Olympic athlete... which, as it turns out, isn't far off! She mentioned she used to run track and is getting back into it. Let me tell you, that explains everything. The speed at which she refilled our water? Blink-and-you-miss-it. The efficiency of her service? Faster than the hurdles she used to jump over. We half-expected her to hand us our fortune cookies while doing hurdle drills over the chairs! Kendall, if you're reading this - you're amazing, and please save some gold medals for the rest of us mere mortals. Now, the FOOD. Oh. My. Wok. We're usually "leftover champions" at Chinese restaurants - it's practically our marital duty. But not this time. We ordered the Combination Fried Rice loaded with goodies) and the Hunan Chicken (spicy, savory, downright addictive). It was so unbelievably delicious, so flawlessly cooked, that we licked our plates clean. Seriously. Not a single grain of rice, not a stray pepper, not even a suspiciously saucy smudge escaped. Our dog is currently giving us the stink-eye because there were zero take-home boxes. Zero! Imperial China broke our leftover streak, and we're not even mad. And as if the universe was nodding along, our fortune cookie sealed the deal: Thursday will bring trust on your new journey." Considering our journey involved demolishing enough food for three people and meeting a future track legend, we'd say it's already pretty darn trustworthy! Overall 10 out of 10. Flawless cleanliness, food that made us abandon all dignity (and leftovers), service faster than Kendall's personal best, and a fortune that felt weirdly on-point. Imperial China, you've won our hearts, our stomachs, and our clean plate awards. We'll be back... probably on Thursday. Just in case.
