This is my go to Chinese spot. Singapore noodles, sesame or general joes chicken, house special fried rice can't go wrong with any of these.

My wife and I were in town for a few days & decided to have lunch there. We went for dinner, the next day we were back too (3 days in a row). We even bought food b4 our flight. We had the Tso chicken, Singapore spicy noodles, Taiwanese noodles, Mongolian beef, chicken & shrimp & Tiramisu. All the meals were great. Service wonderful and nice clean ambiance. read more

Just got back home from Tai Li. The General Tso's Chicken was okay, not superb. The menu indicated that it came with fried rice. I am fairly certain that what I was served was steamed brown rice. It had no egg in it, no vegetables in it and no hint of oil. It did not have the look or feel of rice that had ever seen the inside of a wok. read more

I order Toni's chicken for my 8 year old and The House fried rice for myself. My 8 year old loved the food. The rice lacked flavor and was cold in some areas. I ended up in the bathroom most people of the afternoon. I thought maybe it was something else; but my husband ate some of the rice later on that night and had diarrhea too. This place is terrible. I'm surprised there are decent reviews. They give you a ton of food but it is far from fresh and frozen Chinese food offers more flavor. One of the dishes had raw scallops, there was a layer of oil on the hot and sour soup which is surprising given it's usually a veggie dish. The chicken was dry, and the pork was waaaay over cooked. Even the white rice was clumpy!!!! The only redeeming part of the meal - the crab Rangoons. I would even rate and mall food or Panda Express higher than this: If you're looking for Chinese - Mencius is waaaay better! read more

Extremely disappointing that the review I left was taken down due to honesty. My co workers and I regularly order lunch from tai Li. We all love their food! I never had an issue order the lunch specials to deliver to our office (about 5.5 miles away from the restaurant). I called last week to place a lunch order and was told they didn't deliver lunch specials to huffman. I was so confused because I never had any issue. Instead of a $25 lunch it was more like $40! It's super disappointing in the lack of consistency here. The lady taking my order was also extremely rude and unwilling to let me speak to a manager - just for clarification on the policy. We love their food but unfortunately the inconsistent and need to just up charge for business is disappointing. read more

Been searching for a good Chinese restaurant near me. Finally found one. Read a few reviews, especially the bad ones. Well, I'm sorry they had a bad experience, but my experience was amazing. The service was very good. Our waiter was very attentive even though it was busy during the lunch rush. The food was very fresh and came to the table in 6mins from when our order was made. The prices were decent for the amount of food we were given, which was a good portion. My family and I will definitely be back. Great Asian food here, but workers are too uptight here! This is a family business but doesn't have that feel. Most time it's the young son of the owner on the front register or other non family members working the front. I never eat inside! I always order carryout over the phone and then pick it up, cause it's convenient. But over the phone seems like they try to rush your order, and when you get there, they are either trying to take an order over the phone and do a transaction with you at the same time. (I was that guy on the phone and at the front register at times). Sheesh. They don't SMILE much. They look like if I was coming to Rob them for something. I been coming here since June before work and after sometimes. The more I come seems like my business isn't getting acknowledged. I know they recognize me over and over! But some businesses only there for your money. Might have to go elsewhere next time for better service! Foods not bad it's just the people here that's serving you! If I could give it 0 stars I would. The owner, a short,black hair female, is extremely rude and not friendly at all. Do NOT waste your time on all the good reviews, this one will save you plenty. The food is ok, not great. The service... where do I even begin. They are mean, and yell at you for no reason. You can never get a refill or get asked if you need anything. We got charged gratuity for a 6 month old that can't even eat anything!! Which is insane!! No one is friendly or gives you a nice smile. The environment is just bad feeling in general. I am giving this restaurant a 1 Star Review because my husband and I have been ordering from this restaurant for about 5 years. One night about a month ago, we ordered a delivery of their fried rice as we always have, and it had a strange taste to it. It was nothing like we had tasted before so we decided that we would call and let them know that we didn't care for it. One of the owners suggested that I bring the rice back and that she would make some more. I did just that and when I got there she had put utensils in the bag for me to try it right then in front of her. I did just that, and the same thing, it had an odd taste as if something was old in the rice. I gave it back to her and she threw it away and told me she would refund my money back. Now none of that is the worse part. I understood that maybe that was just a bad batch and my husband and I just wouldn't have fried rice that night. Although I could tell the manager was upset by us not liking the rice even though they had made us two more orders, but I never thought it would come to this. I called in tonight to place an order with what we still considered our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area, however when I began to place my order, I was told that they will never deliver to us again and that the only way we could get our order was if we came and picked it up!!!!! i have found my chinese food spot!! the food at tai li is just so superb. very fresh and flavourful. the prices are on point too. i have had their lunch special a couple of times and for what you get it is an AMAZING deal. very generously portioned entree and fried rice with soup and an egg roll. the dinner entrees lasted my partner and i multiple meals. as in there were leftovers for both of us and even a leftover enough for me to AGAIN have another meal. the food is so perfectly cooked. never an overcooked shrimp or piece of chicken. and while we're talking about the shrimp .. they are HUGE! definitely a mouthful and not some tiny thing hidden amongst a bevy of veggies or filler, so juicy and fresh. we have tried a fair few entrees and none of them have disappointed. the singapore noodles have instantly become a yummy curry hit and fav, with chicken AND shrimp. the hot and sour soup is a favourite of ours as well. just enough heat and tartness with plenty going on throughout with all of the egg, tofu, bamboo and mushrooms. i don't have a single negative thing to say about tai li. the food is ALWAYS fantastic, ready with haste and piping hot. the ONLY thing i could even give for constructive criticism, if we ask for it extra spicy it should be SPICY. other than that everything else is TOP NOTCH. I used to love ordering and eating here. So I'm extremely confused and disappointed that they pick and choose what delivery "rules" they have. I consistently order lunch specials to deliver to my job located in Huffman. I have never had an issue with calling and asking for lunch specials for my order. I called today to place the same order and was told that they could not "do lunch specials" to be delivered to Huffman. I asked if this was a new rule and the lady on the phone said it had been a rule since she had been there. I attempted to get a more clear explanation but she just said they couldn't deliver lunch specials to Huffman. What's even more disappointing is charging more because of some flimsy rule will hurt your delivery drivers for tips. A normal order that I spent $25 on costed $40 today. I'm more willing to tip more on a $25 ticket than $40 for three items. Word of advice - If your rule is not to delivery lunch specials to Huffman please make sure all of your employees follow this rule and not just when certain people are there. Love the food from here and the previous customer service but disappointed in the flimsy rule to charge more when there is no need to do that. read more

I came to this neck of the woods to chill with my gf. From the time we started planning hanging out, we knew we wanted Chinese. Because I'm not from the area, I asked her where she recommended and she mentioned this place. She said it was good, and cheap, so naturally I was down. We got there in time to make the lunch special which I believe is from opening until 3pm, which has a bunch of choices for under $7 that includes a soup and an egg roll. I opted to get the pepper steak and she got some sort of chicken dish she really liked. I also ordered some crab puffs as an appetizer. Everything came out unusually fast making me think maybe it had already been made, but nonetheless it was all super good. I completely finished everything. She's way smaller than me so she didn't finish hers but she did really enjoy it as well. Best part was that we walked out having two full meals and an appetizer and I only paid like $17. The reason for the missing star is that the food wasn't too hot when it arrived, but I will mention I like my food scorching hot when I get it lol. read more

Umm this was my 2nd time trying their food and it didn't go well again. Last time I got orange chicken and the chicken seemed weird to me. Idk maybe it's this place that doesn't serve the type of chicken I like because I've been to other Chinese restaurant that their chicken is white and beautiful if that makes sense it looks appetizing. So this time I got the house fried rice the one that comes with chicken,pork, & shrimp. I asked the lady if I could just have chicken and shrimp no pork. So I went home and the fried rice was good but they gave me all pork no chicken and 4 pieces of shrimp. Ughhh it's sucks because I love Chinese food. I liked Tai Li the food was cooked fresh not reheated everything was well prepared with plenty of fresh ingredients. The server was attentive and the atmosphere was laid back with folks enjoying themselves and their meals. I could tell it was a place that had a lot of routine customers who met there often enjoying their food and friendly banter. It was a really good meal and the prices seemed they were stuck on the menu back in the day without ever being raised. As we were leaving (Saturday afternoon) the hostess was at a table with a bushel of fresh green beans preparing them for the evening meals. Old School, Home Made style Chinese food! We grew tired of tough beef and stringy chicken at other places, and tried to Tai Li recently. The place is old, but clean, and the staff is kind and welcoming. The usual red tablecloths that need ironing grace the dining area, and you are surrounded by Chinese drawings and photographs. They do have tv, though it was thankfully turned down, when we ate here. Still, a good place to watch a Rockets game and enjoy some delicious food. They have a menu special, where a diner chooses their type of soup, and main entree; there were both spicy and mild entrees. We enjoyed the savory wonton soup, hot and sour soup, and the fact that we got both appetizers; a light, crispy eggroll, and a fried chicken drum that was so freshly cooked, we had to wait for it to cool. Their food is refreshingly not salty, and the beef and chicken in our dishes was tender and tasty. Best beef we have had in a long time, surrounded by lots of vegetables and many young snow peas. We chose a white rice and a pork fried rice, and both were very good, too. They were happy to bring us hot mustard, duck sauce and the spicy red pepper sauce, as well. We could easily have fed another adult, or two children with our 2 dinners, and took the leftovers home, for 2 more meals. We saw many people coming in to pick up takeout orders. We enjoyed the relaxing old school vibe here, and look forward to eating at Tai Li again, soon. read more

Absolutely horrible service. The owner which also is the waitress at the establishment was trying to charge 18% gratuity for no reason and I told her about it.. She just snatched the receipt out of my hands because she knew she was abusing! It's sad I'm a regular here and that's how she treats people who pay you twice a week and I always tip well.
