The heart of New Delhi found right in the middle of Southridge Fontana. Taj Cafe opened up only a week ago and I had to give it a try. I love Indian food. The family came here and it's a five star review. There's a little spice if you like that. Even the mild has a little kick but not unbearable. It adds to the character of the food. Naan is delish. Gobi parantha was also delicious. Fresh herbal flavors with ground cauliflower. Curry chicken was outstanding. Rich in flavor. Authentic. My son ordered the chicken biryani which he also enjoyed. My son is not the most adventurous but he gave this a five stars. My wife ordered the shrimp korma and also rated it high with flavor. Support our local business and check them out. We wanted Indian food tonight and the place we usually go to near our home is good - not great. So I checked Yelp! And saw Taj Cafe had an almost 5* rating so we gave it a shot & drove out that way. Let me tell you - it was 100% worth the drive! By far THE BEST Indian food we have ever had. My husband would have licked his plate clean if he hadn't thought anyone would notice. Perfectly seasoned, spiced and cooked. We can't wait to go back and try other dishes. Even the desserts were incredible! Plus the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Just all so incredible. There is something wonderful happening in South ridge Fontana. There has been an influx of Indian restaurants and it's terrific. The most recent addition is the Taj Cafe. As usual my eagle eyed wife spotted the place as we were driving home. She mentioned how she couldn't eat Indian food because it was too spicy. The next day she apparently was miraculously healed cause she sent me off to by Indian food for lunch. We started with the Samosa and the Samosa Chat as appetizers. That Samosa Chat on some rice is epic. I could have that as a meal in itself. We went on to the Lamb Biryani and the Chicken Masala this is life changing stuff. These are flavors you don't get until you step out of your tacos and pizza comfort zone. Go for it, surprise the old lady with some surprise Indian Cuisine from Taj Cafe. Had such a delicious dinner here at the restaurant! Highly recommended this place. Going off the popular dishes we ordered the chicken coconut masala, chicken Tikka masala, paneer Tikka masala, chicken biryani and garlic naan. Everything was great. We shared four dishes among three of us and had leftovers and the ratio of sauce to meat in their dishes is great. The only thing was I wish they had a soda fountain instead of cans . The place was casual and they were very nice, they checked on us often to see if we needed anything else.
