Never been lubed like this before. Grabbed lunch and my oil light came on. Remembered from radios commercial that I can stay in my car so I pulled in. Boom! Offered me a bottle water, the guys were jamming to Justin Timberlake (one dude even singing pretty good with it) Like a pit crew one dude was under the hood, one underground, and one dude telling me about take 5 and how I can get free air between changes! Dude sold me on free. I don't know how long it took but let's just say I had only enough time to eat two Taco Bell tacos. Just like that the pit boss jumped in and introduced himself and like an emergency room tv drama started issuing commands to his team and inspecting things. I don't know the lingo but it just sounded good. He showed me a dipstick with some oil, which I didn't really care to see while the computer guy put free air in my tires. Got my receipt and I'm on my way. If you ever need a soda or bottle water just drive through this place it's included with the oil change. read more

The store in Lubbock, TX @ 2509 82nd, 79423 charged my son's bank account $1,003.57 on 9/6/22 for a $123.57 oil change/wiper blade install he had done on 9/2/22. We have spoken with the store manager Matthew Christianson and the stores corporate representatives on several occasions beginning on 9/7/22, and they have taken no actions as of 9/22/22 to refund the overcharges of $880.00. When we tried contacting their corporate office we were either hung up on or sent to agents who could not provide any assistance. We will never use Take 5 (or should I say Take $880.00) again and I would caution anyone who is considering using them. They're prices are cheap for a reason. read more

As I sat in my car waiting, I watched as a total of 3 guys working and two just aimlessly walking around. I felt like I was watching a movie clip in slow motion. The guy putting my hood up couldn't even find the hood pole to hold it up while he checked the car fluids. Then when I asked he mentioned that they have a policy to use theirs so they don't break yours. I had the privilege of watching two guys come with their breakfast. Just to walk by to eat. It took over 40 minutes with no one else waiting. Since Take 5 bought Bolton's, it has gone down hill. read more

Slow... and no idea why. Just needed an inspection, and they pulled us in. We then sat for 15-20 minutes as people walked around doing nothing or complaining about their job. Then, to top it off, they got the VIN wrong on the inspection report. Seriously? I could not get my car registered and had to make another appointment, drive all the way across town to have them fix the report. No offer of a refund, nothing. Ended up costing me most of the day, just to get one care registered. Sadly, the Bolton shop I remembered is gone. read more

After waiting for over 30 minutes to pull up to get service, the overall experience went downhill. Bay leader just wanted to know if I wanted a oil change. I told him yes. I guess that was the limit. I had to ask them to check my air pressure. No cleaning of widows and a rapid look around in the engine area. They came with my air filter and it looked dirty and they advised to replace it, so I asked them to go ahead a replace it. After 10 minutes of looking for the filter, they came back and said they did not have it so I could just wait until next oil change to replace it. I was ready to go. Stopped by an auto parts dealership and got my own filter and replaced it myself. I noticed during the filter change that the coolant was almost empty. I checked the receipt, that they gave me, and it showed full and a safe level. With the weather averaging over 100 degrees now, it is not a good time to basically not have coolant. I had to make another trip there to ask them to fill up what they said they checked. No apologies, just a basic move on look. I definitely will be moving on from this Oil Change or anything that was to do with them. read more

When pulling up to what was Bolton's I Noticed it had change ownership. While waiting in line they did do the windows but never once checked the tires. When I got to the front I asked the guy about the tire check he informed me that they had checked them. When I know for a fact they didnt and hadn't on any of the cars in line. He proceeds to tell me that my low tire pressure light will go off as I drive it. Which is crap I know my car it would have reset when I restarted the vehicle. 1st trip to Take 5 after it's bought by Take 5. I took my wife's new Nissan in for an oil change. 7500 miles. I asked for Mobile One Synthetic. They worked on the car and were finishing up when one of the guys noticed they put the wrong oil in....in a brand new car!! They drained the car and hopefully put in a new oil filter and then put in the correct synthetic oil. January 2020- Excursion with 209,000 miles...it's running great for the past 20 years on Quaker State 5W30. I pull in. They drain the oil. I can see I'm not in the system so I ask if they have the correct oil type, Quaker State. The guy looks baffled and states they don't carry Quaker State. In fact, he tells me "Quaker State is no longer available they were bought by Penzoil." I'm sitting in my car now with no oil. So I asked for Mobile oil. He ran off, came back...nope, not available either. All we offer is Castrol. No choice at this point. The guys that were changing the oil had no plan of what to do next. They would check something and then redo it again. I drove off with Castrol oil. But not for long. 2 days later I went to Rapid Oil Change on Indiana. I got an oil change to 5 qts of Quaker State. I waited at Take 5 for 30 minutes during the oil change. At Rapid Oil Change I was in a 8am...out at 8:12am. Bye Take 5!! read more

Came in to get an oil change not expecting to wait over half an hour since there was only 3 cars in the bays plus myself. I was completely wrong I've been here since 9:19 it's now 10:06 and they just now opened the hood. This guy doing my oil change looked at me crazy when I specified what oil I wanted and the girl asked if I'm sure after I told her I needed a wiper blade for my back window.. umm if I wasn't sure I wouldn't say it needed it. This place has gone downhill since I came last time and I don't think I'll be coming back unless I absolutely have to which is highly unlikely. read more

I took my new vehicle in for its first oil change. Within a few days, I had a large amount of oil leaking from my vehicle. I wanted to explain to them that the gentleman was overcharging me for economy oil change. He was telling me that the charge was $99. When I went to tell him that the economy was only $49 and that he was overcharging. He proceeded to tell me to shut up because he was not talking to me he was talking to his coworker. ​I was actually stunned and at a loss for words at that moment. And that's why I have tried to reach out to the manager on duty the GM and no one has taken the time to call me back or address my concern. Took my wife's jeep to get oil changed about two weeks ago and her car has been leaking oil ever since, she has taken it back several times just so they can tell her they changed the seal on the drain plug but it still keeps leaking oil, it didn't have this problem until they did the oil change but they won't admit they messed up the oil pan and stripped the drain plug hole, I've been a mechanic for 25 years but I didn't have time to do the oil change myself cause I work out of town and I know how easy it is to strip the thread on the oil pan drain hole, I have been calling them back but keep getting the run around and they never call me back, I will be getting in touch with the BBB about this cause I don't think they are going to fix this problem and people need to be made aware of work practices that seem to be non existent read more

After getting a oil change, we now have a locked motor due to plug not being tightened up and coming off allowing oil to pour out after driving it. Had vehicle towed to KIA for inspection and it was confirmed. We set up a meeting ( Josh-take 5 shop manager , myself, KIA tech) on time and day to accommodate Josh schedule on a Monday at 7am. Josh never showed nor never called. Josh denied the claim. Our last conversation he stated : "its your word against mine"- very unprofessional response. I also spoke to DM ( Cody) who also was was in contact with KIA techs. He then tried to blame KIA recalls which had nothing to do with the issue. He also denied the claim. I was then in contact with service which told me it was out of their hands since claim was denied. Was directed to their legal dept who only accepts letters through mail. I have been hearing from friends about same issues. Today i was informed that KIA received another vehicle with the same issue. Apparently there is a big issue here. We are now with out a vehicle and its taken a tow. read more

Friday April 22nd, Had Oil changed at 82nd and Slide, Long Store short, they did not tighten oil plug, I had to travel to Dallas at 06:00am, so i didn't notice the BIG oil spot in my garage, i packed the the night before, from Here to Abilene, car kept displaying i was a quart low, in fear of blowing motor, i stopped in Post TX and added a quart, stopped in Snyder TX, because the same WARNING came on again, added another quart 07:00am, what to do, go back to Lubbock or Abilene, I found a Take 5 in Abilene, fear of liability they noticed it was leaking from the oil plug, they were the shop that discovered the loose oil plug, After calling "manager" at Lubbock location, he was very disconcerted about my issue, comments like a quart low should not hurt the car, after seeing BIG OIL stain in my garage and at my parking spot at work, i would assume it was More that a quart low, went by location this morning to voice my concerns on my experiences at this location, asked for manager, not sure if he was the same guy i spoke with on Saturday morning, but he had same attitude, a quart low wouldn't have hurt the car, FOR A REWARD! they gave me a voucher for a free oil change, WOW!!! $70.00 credit, compared to having to replace $15,000.00 Plus Motor, NOTE: ABILENE TAKE 5 Oil Change, ROCKED!!! thanks Abilene Take 5 read more

Used Bolton for years the take 5 service is not much no tire check,no clean all the windows,had to tell them to check transmission and power steering, he did not put the top cover on engine , kind of a joke read more

I've realized how spoiled I was to Bolton's. My experience today with Take 5 was really poor. Wait time with 2 cars in front of me was over an hour. They have one oil change team hopping back and forth between bays causing the wait to sky rocket. No customer service compared to Bolton's. No window washer out greeting you with complimentary water. My oil change price was $22 more than it was with Bolton's. My air filter needed replacing and they did not have mine in stock. Instead of blowing off the dirt they just stuck the dirty one right back in. Such a shame. read more
